Rude and will curse at you over the phone. They’ll wait until after you leave town and charge you a $ 20 per bike cleaning fee, claiming the heavily used bikes they gave us were«pretty beat up.» We rode our two bikes for a grand total of an hour or two over a week and returned the bikes in the same exact condition we got them in. The bikes were fine, clearly workhorse rentals that see a lot of use, but nothing special. While at the airport my husband got a call about the cleaning fee, the guy was very worked up and rude, my husband tried getting them to explain what was wrong with the bikes, and then the guy gets upset, calls my husband an asshole and hangs up on him. There are plenty of other bike rental companies on the island — avoid this place. It’s not about the money, it’s about a guy calling you up and calling you an asshole over $ 20. This company goes by multiple names Riding Tigers, Palmetto Bikes, Hilton Head Bikes, All American Bikes, etc. they all direct to

If you vacation on Hilton Head Island, you have to use a bike for transportation. Conveniently located inside the property of Sonesta Resort and they can charge to your room. You can rent a bike for the day for $ 22, add a basket and helmet at no additional charge. Definitely get a basket. Our rental experience was close to perfect, but due to being a beach cruiser, there was a lot of sand in the chain and the chain fell off. Aside from the minor issue, we were within close walking distance and the staff made everything right. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Not sure if Sonesta staff work the rental station, but they offered great customer service.
