Abbott 2 days ago, I came here. It was Abbott 8pm when I arrived, but they still served me. I’m surprised anyone was out and Abbott on the Fourth of July, but they were. The kiddie size was pretty small, but not too small, so I’m not going to make an issue Abbott it. And honestly everything else was wonderful, so that is the only thing I’m going to complain Abbott. This Abbott’s is lovely, with great service and delicious custard, plus a wonderful location, and here are all the things I loved. Please don’t send me any Abb-use about this. (1) It’s cheaper than the others… 2.90 for a baby custard (2) The décor is beautiful… it’s a tiny little shack (3) Outside and inside seating (4) Nice and cool inside (5) Custard wasn’t melting when they handed it to me (6) The girl serving me was so nice and sweet and flirty (7) They had Red Raspberry Custard… I got that and *wow*… so good (8) It’s in a tiny little village in the middle of nowhere… so quaint (9) It was open on the 4th of July so I was able to make it part of my July 4 food tour (10) The cone wasn’t stale like some locations have I hope you don’t think me Abb-normal for numbering my list. I’d like to emphasize that the Red Raspberry custard is soooooooo good. One of the better flavours I’ve had. It wasn’t like a sorbet but it was amazing. It was like a custard milkshake in a cone. Wonderful. I may have to Abb-andon this review and drive and get some more custard right now. Not much else to say really. It was just a 5 star experience. Up there with the better Abbott’s. I want to tell you what was running through my head when the girl was flirting with me but I’ll Abb-stain from giving you that info. Abbott’s is the best local custard chain in America(or at least it’s right up there). As for my usual comments on Abbott’s: Abbotts/Bill Grays share space like Taco Bell/KFC do in many places. However this location is only Abbott’s. There is no Bill Grays. So it’s all about the custardito. I know you abb-hor when I go on and on so let me wrap this up. It’s one of my «best 5 custards I’ve ever had.» I think I like custard more than ice cream, more than fro yo, less than real gelato. For custard specifically, which is sort of like soft-serve-but-creamier, the best in the country are Leon’s in Milwaukee and Nielsen’s in Vienna, VA, and then Abbott’s in 3rd. Sorry if this review was a little Abb-stract.

I didn’t give it 5 stars because they don’t fill the cone with ice cream. So it’s ice cream(custard) on the top with a hallow huge cone. Not cool. I’ve been here twice while visiting family and I love the amount of sprinkles they use. The entire ice cream is covered, then they scoop some into a bowl and turn the cone over into the bowl. Awesome. Came here around 8pm and it was dead. The chairs were up and everything. But that’s how the town is anyway unless it’s a hot summer day. I’ll go there next visit.

Stopped in this joint for a Lil family time. Cute slice of jail bait working the custard, definitely a plus. Had the Oreo flurry– one tasty treat!

If you live in or have ever visited Rochester, Abbott’s is a must. I’m a frequent customer of the Lake Ave location on my visits home, but the Hilton outpost is down the street from my parents, so we stopped by. The shop itself is adorable and who can argue with the scrumptiousness of frozen custard? I do wish it was soft serve like Lake Ave, but I’m guessing that has something to do with the volume of customers every day. All together, it adds up to a party in my stomach and all of my happy nerve endings are invited. Abbott’s, I’ll miss you!

This location is adorable. The people are always friendly and patient, which is good cause it usually takes me a bit to figure out what combination of goodies to use to create my tasty treat of the day. If you haven’t had frozen custard or aren’t from the area, it’s pretty much just ice cream(though people tend to get snippy when I point that out). They always have about 5 flavors or so each day, as far as I can tell chocolate and vanilla are always on the menu, as well as some specialty ones like my favorite chunky mudd(coffee flavored custard with hot fudge and cookie dough). They also have specials that change each day, like whip it weds or something like that were you get a discount on a certain item. This helps if you’re with your family(we tend to spend about $ 20 for 6 of us). It’s not a very large interior and it’s pretty loud(like most ice cream shops), but the outside porch is nice and clean, if the weather permits. Oh, and they close during the winter :(so don’t get your hopes up if it’s snowing outside.

You can’t live in Rochester and not know about Abbott’s. Great frozen custard, milkshakes and sundaes.
