I had a great meal — The Louisiana Special! You choose the seasoning and the heat. I had the Rajun Cajun spice with medium heat. I enjoy lots of heat so it could have gone for their«extreme» but medium lets you enjoy the spices. Great place for a large party enjoying beer and conversation.

One star only because you have to leave one, not based off of the food since we were never able to try any. Went in this evening and we were seated, there were about three other couples and a party of about five. We were seated and told our server would be there in a second. We sat there for about 25 minutes without ever even being asked if we wanted anything to drink, never did any one approach our table and even let us know they would be our sever. May have something to do with race, but not going to say for sure if it did, but can be assured they they had their chance of taking our business and lost it. In a way this may be a good thing because we went to Captain Joe’s and their food and service were excellent. Will not recommend Rolling Crab to anyone, worst experience so far being here in the Ft. Stewart/Hinesville area. Maybe should have just taken a hint from the other poor reviews and avoided the place from the start, would chalk it up as Rolling Crap, not Crab.

So bad. I’m from Florida where the sea food is fresh. This place is horrible. Shrimp is rubber, don’t have cable(enjoy watching QVC on replay), barely a beer to chose from, and a dirty atmosphere. RUNNNNNN!!!

I don’t enjoy posting negative reviews but I would like to spare others the sorry experience that I had. My chicken tenders were low quality, pre-packaged and worse than any fast food tenders that I can think of. My fried shrimp were flavorless and the BONED fish that I didn’t know were coming that way were fatty and just as flavorless. Since my meal was lacking to say the least, I thought I’d indulge in dessert. Not very indulgent — see the pics I posted. Luckily, my husband is great company so, we laughed it off and took the lesson.

Staff is pretty good food not so much. All the seasoning was at the bottom of the bowl. The type of butter used taste horrible to me. The prices of food does not match the quality.

I first ate here about a year ago and got their lobster special. Loved it since it was cooked Chinese style which is hard to find in Hinesville! I’ve eaten here a few more times since then and each time has gotten worse and worse. The last time I got the snow crab and mussel boil and there was just way too much seasoning on it, plus it didn’t even come out hot. My friend ordered the king crab boil only got about six legs with meat in them, plus it was more expensive than my meal. We asked them about it, and they said they serve us based on weight which makes sense but a few of her legs didnt even have meat in them. They were already broken. One positive though was that the fried shrimp appetizer was pretty good.

We like this place and eat here pretty often. It’s not anything extraordinary or amazing but for a seafood place in a small town it gets the job done! I usually get the Davey Jones Locker and sub mussels for clams(.99 extra) seasoned mild with garlic and old bay, they say«mild» but it’s plenty spicy for me. One recommendation is not to get the shrimp in the boiler pots because they tend to overcook, which is partially why i stopped getting the Ditty Pot, but everything else is usually perfect! That being said, the fried shrimp is reeeally good! It doesnt taste like its been frozen forever and just came out of a bag.

First time here and I gotta admit this place was not bad at all. Food portions are huge! You definitely get what you pay for here. Another good thing is that they serve dr pepper which is hard to find in places out here in the south. I will defiantly be coming back here. Only reason they’re not getting 5 stars is because the hush puppies were flavor less and the Cajun fries were not Cajun. Lol other than that it’s a good place

Great all around place to eat! Very affordable and plenty of food for the price. Everything is clean and have nice waitress. We would love to eat here all the time but we aren’t from around here and they don’t have anything like this at home. Would eat here every night!

I have eaten here several times. People seem to like this place. Not entirely sure why because the seafood is mediocre. But anyway, on with the review. This might seem like a blast but that is not my intention. I am just genuinely trying to report my experience here. Now keep in mind this is a restaurant with a largely if not mostly military clientele. Therefore it would be reasonable to expect them to be able to accommodate a decent number of lunch time patrons during the work week. My and my friends came here for someone’s going away lunch and initially it was about 5 of us who showed up at 1145 and placed orders. Three orders were seafood and two were burgers; all of us had to be somewhere at 1pm sharp. Fast forward forty minutes and the 15 other people in our party(who were really the only patrons in the restaurant) had all been served their food, pretty quickly actually. But the 4 or 5 of us that had ordered burgers(maybe it was my bad for ordering a simple burger in a seafood restaurant) were almost forced to leave without our to go burgers after paying the check in advance to try to save time. We were told, «Oh we have a tiny grill», and, «Oh yeah the burgers will be out real soon»(Yeah — after about another 20 minutes). Server was nice but obviously overwhelmed by a party of 20 people. My buddy’s burger had mayo on it; he requested a plain burger. As for the food itself, it was just an average burger. Anyplace in a military town that can not accommodate a decent sized military crowd during the work week really should rethink its strategy. Last time I will ever come here, because if a burger orderd with the first five orders(before anyone else had even showed up) takes 40 minutes, I’m afraid of how long seafood could take on a bad day.

Always large portions and very friendly staff. Would love to see more people take advantage of the place to keep it here, but love not having to wait :)

The food was great I have no complaints about that but we had no waitress. They need to give better training or something because we got our food then I had to get up and flag someone down to get anything at all. I’ll be back for the delicious food but won’t hold my breath about getting a drink refill.

We love coming here and ordering takeout. The seasonings are good and the prices are decent. Not sure why more people don’t come, as the place is never crowded. Plus, they let you draw on the wall. :) We usually get the snow crab, hush puppies, and Louisiana special. Hope this place stays open.

This place was awful. Place was empty and there were a handful of servers just standing around. Hush puppies had zero flavor to them and should’ve let me know what was to come. Ordered low country shrimp boil thinking that it would be hard to screwup and hoping for fresh shrimp. Shrimp was small, chewy, overcooked and most certainly not local or fresh. Sausage was standard kielbasa from grocery store and potatoes were fine. Corn was TERRIBLE. I will say that it was a large portion though. They brought out some«Cajun fries» that were frozen crinkle cut fries with some old bay style seasoning on top. They had a very odd taste to them like they were cooked in spoiled oil or something and I abandoned them after eating the second one. I usually am able to find the good in any place, but this was a terrible experience and I give it my lowest recommendation. Some of the wait staff were sharing a Little Ceasar’s pizza if that gives you any indication of the food quality. Instead of eating the restaurants food, they chose a $ 5 piece of cardboard.

They have good lunch specials. The place is never crowded so as soon as you come in you are greeted and they take your order right away. Everyone is very friendly and your food comes super quick. I ordered the shrimp basket with sweet potato fries and it was delicious. The shrimp basket comes with 15 shrimp and the batter is nice and light. They did lose a star because the ketchup that was in the Heinz bottle, was not Heinz. Another plus is that they have 1.50 drafts of beer. If you don’t ask for a lunch special menu, you may not get one. But, all in all, I say check it out.

Unilocal definitely did not disappoint us with this pick. I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about the seafood… in Savannah but since we’re more than an hour away, we sort of settled on this place. Walking in, there’s nothing that screams Joe’s Crab Shack and not too many gimmicky chotchkes. Also, at 6:00 p.m. on a Sunday, there were only about 5 tables sat on both sides of the restaurant and the servers were chilling in a booth doing sidework and waiting for people to come trickling in. We were sat promptly in a quiet dining area and our server greeted us warmly and gave us ample time to mull over our choices. We both miss the benefits of living close to a pier or beach and being spoiled with the fresh catch of the day so narrowing down our final choices was difficult. The hubby went for a combination snow crab, mussels, clams, 61⁄70 shrimps, potatoes and two halves of a corn on the cob. He picked the ragin’ Cajun seasoning and it tasted good but it could have definitely been seasoned longer and with more intensity. I could barely taste the Old Bay and spices but I kinda have a Ben & Jerrys issue-I need an overload of flavor in order to be happy. I had to be safe and order a shrimp basket. It seriously pains me to order something so safe.(Just three more months and I’ll be back to cracking crab claws with my teeth and slurping raw oysters!) I was impressed with the number of shrimps they gave you for $ 8.99. The breading wasn’t too greasy, crumbly, thick and didn’t taste like it came from a Sysco bag. The only thing that was missing was some cocktail sauce and our server happily obliged and checked in on us numerous times. Bottom line: the food was above average, the service was exceptional and the price can’t be beat. 51⁄2014
