Rip Rides

I went to RipRides for the first time this morning. I absolutely loved it! Gia is amazing. The way that she runs the class definitely pushed me through the entire 90 minutes. She went through the set for the ride at the beginning of class as well as throughout.
That part that really stood out to me is that she goes through the reason why we are doing the upcoming set and what you can get out of it. These explanations, before each major set, really helped me focus on the goal of the ride instead of how much my muscles were hurting.
The people in the class were also great to workout with. You can tell that they were pushing themselves which made me push myself past what I thought I could do.
The equipment was also top-​notch. The bikes were good quality bikes. There are some monitors in the front of the room that display the individuals work effort using a color system.
I have been spinning for over eight year now in many different studios and I have really never been in a class like this. I highly recommend RipRides.

WOW!!! Where have you been all my life RipRides. This is the real deal. I can’t compare it to any other spin class I’ve taken. It truly is in it’s own category of the most intense workouts I’ve ever experienced. If you want a challenge and a completely invigorating workout come to RipRides!

I am about as far as you can get from an «athlete» but spin is truly the only exercise that I’ve ever enjoyed and I’ve been to at least 20 studios all over the place. RipRides incorporates all of my favorite elements– stadium format, low lighting, diverse instructors with good music, and especially the individual computers on each bike that feed performance info to the big screens at the front. I love getting specific numbers on RPM or power ranges to shoot for during each song, and the color-​coded effort levels (based on my own threshold levels, no one else’s!) are a fun way to stay challenged. The RipRides Plus sessions are a great way to incorporate 20 minutes of manageable boot camp elements. Most of all, I appreciate the sense of community that has built up since the studio opened– most classes have everyone from people who seem to do a triathlon weekly to people who have never done a spin class before, and everyone is very welcoming of whomever shows up that day. I love some of the big studios in NYC and Back Bay too, but this is a much more economical and practical option and a great resource for the South Shore.
