Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Two flim-​flam complaints I have with Enterpise. Their reservation system and their gas policy for van rentals.
I reserved a rental van on line at their Marietta GA location. The day before the rental I get a call from them saying they do not rent vans at the Marietta GA location. Wonderful! I have less than 24 hours to get a rental van for moving day.
The Hiram GA location had vans, good. When I arrive to rent the van, they start playing gas games. The van does not have a full tank of gas. My policy with rental vehicles is to rent them with a full tank of gas and return them with a full tank of gas. That does not work for Enterprise evidently, because they cannot make money that way. The counter guy starts telling me there is a quarter tank of gas in the van and that I should use their gas fill service, which is a rip off. So he then says well return it with a quarter tank of gas. Oh, that is going to be fun, because they full well know everyone will return the van with more gas than it was checked out with to avoid a gas charge. Speaking to the manager did no good, what a jerk. Since I was in a bind, thanks to the Enterprise reservation system, I rented the van. When I start up the van, it DOES NOT have a quarter tank of gas! It had about one-​eighth of a tank. This is a rip off and forces me to waste time having to stop for gas before I can even start moving. I go back in and tell Mr Manager that there is only one-​eighth tank of gas and that he needs to honestly and accurately document the EXACT amount of gas in the tank. VERY reluctantly he does. Note: Sneaky dishonest attempt to document more gas than was actually in the tank, so that I would be buying them gas that was never in the tank.
In simple language, the Enterprise gas policy is dishonest, intended to rip off customers.
This is my last van rental from Enterprise. I have since rented a van from Hertz-​Penske in Kennesaw GA. And YES, Penske gives you the van with a FULL tank of gas, and you are charged only if you do not return with a full tank.

Tried to rip me off. I ordered an economy car through my corporate discount website, was a good discount. When I got there, the agent asked if I wanted an upgrade, I asked how much more and he said it would only be $ 4.00 more in total (which I knew was correct because that’s the same quote the website gave me the day prior, but I went with economy still anyway). When I returned the car the same agent tried to charge me with $ 4 extra per day. I stated my case, told him he was the one who quoted me the $ 4 total, not per day. He spent 15 minutes on trying to prove me wrong by digging into my corporate discount on his computer-​register, but I wouldn’t give in. So he finally just gave it to me for the economy price. I appreciate the final price, but really ticked off at the process it took to get there. I’ve seen it happen before, watch these guys carefully and write down everything they tell/​quote you!
