Mellow Mushroom

Best pizza Ever! We always get the house pizza done well. They use fresh tomatoes so I like it done a little more so the piss is not wet with the juice of the tomato. If you like mushrooms get the soup. OMG to die for!

I have eaten at this restaurant and upon realizing that the service is awful, I’ve decided to just order take out. But it seems that they still can’t get it right. This is the worse MM I have ever visited. To many people just standing around chatting. Seems to be full of teenage waiters. I usually call my order in and I try to stick to a salad when I do. This time my husband picked up what was suppose to be a large Greek salad with extra dressing. He was given the bag and his money was taken. When he gets home with this salad, I am appalled. It is romaine lettuce with Parmesan cheese shaving and bread pieces. I called and they had some lame excuse. Pay attention. You charged me $ 10 for a bag of romaine. I was so looking forward to the Greek salad as dinner and lunch for tomorrow but that was ruined. I’m done with this particular Mellow Mushroom. Oh and not to mention that my husband drove 20 minutes to get this salad.

I normally Love Love MM but this location has failed me 3 times lately… I sure hope it’s just a few mistakes! My son and I were there a few days ago and were seated fairly quickly but it was only to sit for 25 mins and no one ever came to check on us! No drink order… NOTHING! We did finally leave. I will order but only take out! #disappointed

We have eaten here with our family tons of times over the past 6 or 7 years. We have always enjoyed it! The food is obviously wonderful. Awesome pizza! Our kids always have a great time. It’s a great family atmosphere and I love going! I love the leftovers too lol

I’ve been giving all 5* reviews lately and it’s not because I’m in a good mood, nor am I pregnant (or would that make all my reviews moody?). Maybe I am mellowing with age. Hehe.
I briefly considered deducting a star for a change of pace, but I can’t get self-​righteous and jip these guys because they deserve a good review. Austin was the most awesome waiter I’ve had in years, he was so attentive, and though we had only waited about 10 minutes brought us out a free appetizer (we chose) which was surprising for a pizza place to care so much.
Now, the salad was plain and uninteresting, but it was free, so I can’t justifiably complain about it. The gluten free kosmic karma pizza was amazeballs, after a few years of barely edible gf crusts, this brought back all the college pizzas I drooled over and the euphoria is still hitting me in waves. Yum.

It’s tough to write this review because the food here is AMAZING. I love their southern style pulled pork pizza, and their calzones are wonderful as well! However, there are only 2 servers here that I like… The rest are rude, very slow, and our orders are always wrong. There is one in particular that had made me never want to visit this restaurant again. Don’t get me wrong– the food is wonderful, and I will definitely place Togo orders and pick them up– but I probably won’t ever sit down at this restaurant again because of the servers.

I’ve eaten at Mellow Mushroom in Hiram about 10 times and have never had a bad experience.
It’s not a very big place so if you don’t want to wait, you should go during off-​peak times. There will be a long wait if you show up at 7 on a Saturday night.
The strange thing about my experiences at the Mushroom, is I’ve never once ordered pizza. I am a bit of a pizza freak, and I like to tell anyone who will listen about how I grew up in both NJ and Chicago, so I really know my pizza. I’ll say this, if the pizza crust is the same as the pretzels and calzones, then it is just fine!
The garlic/​parm pretzel appetizer is simply awesome. The calzones are terrific, and huge. In addition, I’ve watched my girlfriend enjoy some specialty pizzas and sandwiches. Their meatball parm is a great alternative to pizza or calzones as well.
Mellow Mushroom has a very large craft beer list, as well as normal GA favorites like Sweetwater 420 on tap. I get a different beer every time I go, including some interesting seasonal brews.
I’ve never had bad service, although at night on the weekends things slow down a bit. It can take a little longer than usual to get a drink order, and pizza always takes a while to cook so expect delays if you go during peak hours.
It’s worth it though, because the food and drinks are both great. Pro tip — after your meal, go to the pottery painting place next door and have a little artsy date night!

Enjoyed the pizza and the waitress provided good service. The place was nearly full for a week night. My only complaint was that it was very noisy and it was difficult to have a conversation. All the interior surfaces are hard and the noise keeps bouncing around. The TV should have been muted since guests were talking over it anyway.

Do not get their lunch special pizza slices or just a cheese pizza. Absolutely terrible pizza. It seems as though they slightly heat up some precooked pizza for their lunch special slices or only cheese pizzas. It has been this way for years. This is not an anomaly. Sometimes the service there is terrible as well. Today it took 30 minutes to get a terrible cheese pizza and then it takes another 30 minutes to get your check when done eating. Only go there if you have 1.5 hours to blow for lunch and you want bad lunch special pizza.

Me and my wife ate here tonight and liked it very well. I had the ham and pineapple pizza which I thought was very well done. We also had the hummus for a appetizer which was excellent. We’re not major pizza fans but the next time we are in the area and crave pizza we will come back.

The service has always been great when we go there. The five star pizza is the bomb! This pizza is a cheese lovers heaven!

You cannot go wrong with Mellow Mushroom. It is some of the best pizza around. The Hiram special at, of coursethe Hiram location is an awesome pizza. Mellow Mushroom is also great it you like craft/​micro brew beers because they have a great selection. Also it may just be me but the fact that they list the price of each individual beer is awesome.

I really like the flavor and texture of cheese of MM pizza. It costs a little more but sometimes it is just worth it. I would give this location a 5, but service can be a little inconsistent.

This Mellow Mushroom provides everything you could ask for in a pizza joint. The first thing you notice walking in the door is the psychedelic vibe of the restaurant, which personally I can take it or leave it. It does do it successfully though, so kudos to them for that. The menu has a variety of foods to choose from, but you’ll want to get a pizza. There are many different kinds of pre built pizzas, but you can design your own as well. I had the «Holy Shittake Pie», and it was out of this world. It hit bottom like a rock, so I ended up taking half the pie home for dinner later on. The food is pretty pricey, but if you’re a pizza fan, you must try Mellow Mushroom.

Food, atmosphere, and service were great! We had four adults and two children seated in a booth. The server promptly took our drink and appetizer order, and didn’t rush us to order. The crayangles for the kids were awesome, and amused some of the adults as well. We had the bruschetta and cheesy bread, and finished them just in time for the pizza arrival. We ordered a large House Special, and wow was it awesome! Three of us have worked at pizza joints and appreciate the work that goes into a perfect pizza. It’s difficult to put that many toppings on a pie and still have it look and taste good. It was loaded with meats and vegetables, spicy sauce, and still crispy on top and NOT SOGGY! Our server was attentive to the adults and the children. (Both kids ordered Mac & cheese and ate it all.). I definitely recommend Mellow Mushroom for pizza lovers of any era!

My daughter and I ordered a large cheese pizza, it took 30 min to come out… it was under cooked, the waitress offered to put the pizza back in the oven and gave us an additional small pizza to make up for it. the dough was off and did not taste good at all, she finally told us that the dough contained molasses… ??? The manger stated that this is the dough that all Mellow Mushrooms’ use… NOT… Would not return to this location… the pizza was horrible…

BEST PIZZA EVER! I never eat pizza anywhere else besides Mellow Mushroom, and the one in Hiram is actually VERY GOOD! I’ve lived in Hiram for over a decade now and have been to Mellow Mushroom at least once a week since. Food is always good, waiters and waitress have always been polite and funny. Lifelong customer :)

Since MM decided to close the location in Douglasville down, this is my closest location. The service is well… shitty. 30 minutes for a calzone is just sad. Very unhappy with this MM and the experience that I had here.

I always get a White pizza and they make it pretty good. 10 – 15 beers on tap and good service. I think the oldest employee is 25. I feel like a old man at 38. My kids liked the meatballs and pretzel they ordered.
When I am in the mood for pizza, this is where I go; in Hiram, that is.

The Greek salad is hands down, my favorite salad anywhere! It’s HUGE & flat out delicious! Feta cheese, black olives, peppers, fresh mushrooms, & Esperanza dressing… YUM!!!
The baked portabella & cheese sub is also excellent. Great location, great service, & nice atmosphere!
