Brought my laptop to geek squad to get it fixed. He was AWESOME! He explained everything he was doing and saved me money.

I bought a fitbit on best buy online on sale, it turned out to be the wrong size. I took it back to the Hixson store only to exchange it for a bigger size. Brandon, at the service counter said«no problem, go pick the size you need and bring it back for exchange.» When i did he credited me the sale price and charged me the full retail for an exchange. i refused to pay the additional $ 30 and asked to see a manager. I didn’t get to see a manager but after about 10 minutes Brandon came back and took the extra $ 30 off the EXCHANGE and still tried to charge me $ 2.70 for the tax difference he said. Again, i asked for a manager. I still didn’t get to see a manager but then Brandon took the tax off and i was on my way. i am writing this because even though the transaction was successful, what if a less skeptical person tried the same thing and got taken advantage of by either unscrupulous store policies or improperly trained associates? I use to love best buy! i have spend a lot of money there over the years. I am no longer a fan, not just because of this instance but because of a slow decline of customer service, selection and the stores seem so clinical and less fun to shop.

Very poor customer service. I had a question about a phone but could noy get past the person answering the phone to talk with someone in the phone dept. She ask 20 questions. Why not just transfer me to someone that knows more than she does. Then I asked for a manager but they were unavailable. But you can get plenty of help when you go in to spend your money. But you get idiots when you can back to ask a simple question. I am taking the phone back to the store and getting my money back and never going there again. Very poor customer service.

I am writing about my recent experience with the company’s Geek Squad. My phone’s camera was not working correctly. I have Geek Squad coverage. Here were my options for either getting it repaired or replaced. I could send my phone in and after getting it checked out, I would either get it repaired or replaced. I would be without a phone for a length of time. OR I could have about $ 275 held on a credit card(not a Best Buy credit card :-/) while I have a replacement phone sent to me. I would then have 30 days to send my phone with a faulty camera back where it will be throughly inspected. My money will be released when the phone passes inspection. This is massive difference on previous procedures. In the recent past(less than a year) when one had a malfunctioning smart phone in which was covered under a Geek Squad protection plan, they would bring it into Best Buy’s Geek Squad. Upon in-store inspection, your faulty phone would be approved for replacement or your faulty phone would be handed back to you with an explanation on why you were not eligible for a replacement. If you were approved, in a couple days you would get notification that your replacement phone was in and after a quick trip to the store, all was well. Needless to say, I felt forced to give them my money for who knows how long. I am not happy about this. This will be the last time I get Geek Squad protection for a cell phone. BUYERBEWARE!

Decent store, but the movie and music section is rather lame, limited to the recent genre. Yes, I’m old-fashioned: I like having a library of DVD’s and CD’s. There’s something reassuringly tangible in actually holding something, and undergoing the viewing/listening ritual. Anyway, this location is in the same store area as the Target in Hixson, so there’s the same difficulity in actually ‘seeing’ the store if you’re proceeding on Hwy 153. Just look for the TARGET logo on the entrance sign — — easy to see. They have the same ‘meet or beat’ option on pricing of like items, which these days is rather a standard. I must compliment the staff on their patience while I decided upon a sound system for my TV. Not only did they hook up several systems for me, they insisted that I play several tracks of MY soundtrack material on each, just so I’d have something to compare while making a decision. This was unexpected, and very welcome. All in all, beats driving across th river and dealing with Gunbarrel Road if all you need is a electronic do-dad or two.
