International House of Pancakes

Chain restaurants are chain restaurants & are dependable for serving you what you expect. The location is convenient off highway 153. I ordered their Colorado omelette, which was much better than I expected. Service was good.

It is rare that I will give a chain restaurant 4 stars, but we had such amazing service that this IHOP fully deserves four stars.
When we got to IHOP we were greeted and seated right away. The hostess originally sat us at a table where the sun was shining right in the eyes of the unlucky side of the table. Luckily, they had no problem with us relocating to another table.
I had the chocolate chip pancakes because if you are going to go to IHOP, you have to get pancakes. The pancakes were good and the fact you can get them as buttermilk pancakes now is a nice touch. The coffee was a little bitter but decent overall. And there are unlimited refills for the coffee, which is even better.
As I mentioned before, we had amazing service. Erik did an incredible job and was even better than some waiters I’ve had at pricey formal restaurants. He is incredibly upbeat and friendly, and you can tell he truly enjoys his job. Our table had coffee going the entire time we were there, and since 2 out of the 3 of us are extreme coffee drinkers, it was impressive that our cups were rarely empty. The kitchen was fairly quick to get our orders out although the eggs for our party were not made like they were ordered. However, Erik noticed before we could even say anything and got more eggs cooked the way they were ordered. He checked on us consistently but not enough that it became annoying.

OK, I have been to IHOP more times than I can count. It has good food, it is reasonable and they are all pretty much the same. They have specials constantly and it is a great place to go for breakfast and other meals. I will be honest, I only think of IHOP for breakfast and that is all I have ever had. This is right over the dam on Highway 153 with plenty of off site parking.
I went there with my son and his wife on Sunday, October 22^nd around 9 AM. No crowd and no wait. What made this dining experience so pleasant and so unique? One reason, and one reason only; it was our waiter, Erik. His positive up beat attitude, attention to detail and service surprised not only me, but my son and his wife (also Elite Unilocal members). When he brought our meals, my son and my eggs were eggs were overcooked and before we could even say anything, he said these are not right, I have more coming. He constantly checked on us but was not intrusive and he seemed to know everything we needed before we did. We were impressed.
As a side note, try the sausage breakfast. I ordered the polish like sausage dinner with eggs and hash browns. The picture only shows one sausage but you always get two so if you like them, I would suggest you give it a try.
IHOP is a typical breakfast place and would normally consider it a three. However, this one was cleaner than most I have been in and the service was exceptional so I have to give it a 4+ or a 5… Oh heck. .it gets a 5 thanks to Erik!

This is a nice IHOP, unlike the other location in Chattanooga. Busy on a Saturday morning, but we were still seated quickly. Order did take a while to come out, but it was good. I had eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and French toast. BF had a big omelet with pancakes and grits! It was huge.
Interesting group of people working there and the customers too. It was entertaining.

Came in here with my son for a late breakfast. Service was fast and accurate, our server Christin was polite and had no problems with our order. She also checked on us frequently.

Quick seating. Quick coffee. Amy helped us a great deal with the menu for our son !! Really nice place.

This place is really bad. The kitchen is horrible. We waited for an hour — late on a Saturday with only 2 other groups of customers. Small groups.
After waiting 70 minutes they finally admitted the kitchen had lost our order. Lost. Our. Order. Unbelievable. So DO believe these other Unilocal reviews. Stay away — far away.

This IHOP has had it’s share of shabby management issues and mornings of slow service, but I’ve been more than satisfied with the snappy, caring service and tasty food found around 8 PM on a weeknight.
I’d strongly recommend going during off hours to get the best out of your experience.
My breakfasts have been correctly cooked to order and my drinks refilled promptly on 4 separate (all off-​hours) dining experiences within the last year. The A/​C issues mentioned by another reviewer were fixed (as of June 2014).

Okay food with so so service for lunch.

Had a very disappointing experience. Saturday morning. Was seated within 15 min, but then waited an hour for food to begin arriving. Once the first plate was out, it took am additional 15 min for the remaining of our party of six to receive food. Two of our entrees had hair in them. The manager was very apologetic and did her best to right the situation by taking care of our bill. Not sure when or if I will go back.
