Took my suburban in for rear brakes and oil change. Almost $ 400 later brakes aren’t much better than when u took it in. Just took advantage of senior citizen. Won’t promote this place

So unhappy with this place. Used to be much better, must be the new management. Back in October 2014 I went in to get an oil change and tire rotation. They tried telling me I needed all kinds of things like an alignment, shocks, struts, and more(can’t remember everything since it was so long ago now) which would cost well over $ 1000 in repairs. I may be a female and one who admittedly doesn’t know too much about vehicles but I am not a moron and even I could tell something just didn’t add up. I knew I didn’t need an alignment just from driving it. I told them to give me a print out of everything so I can take it home and show my husband(who does know quite a bit about cars). They tried telling me it was dangerous for me to even drive off their property because my car was in such terrible shape. I continued to refuse these extra services and left with only the services I originally came in for. Of course once my husband looked over my car and their suggestions he could immediately tell that there was nothing wrong with half of what they suggested. We did take it somewhere else for a second opinion to double check the list and that mechanic also confirmed that there was nothing wrong with my car and it was exactly what would be expected for a 7 year old car. Actually, in their excitement to scam me, they failed to notice that the brake pads would need to be replaced fairly soon. I will never come back to this place.

Oil filter improperly installed. When I returned to see why my car was leaking oil on my driveway, they told me it was just a little oil dripping from when changing the oil. Didn’t seem correct so I went to a mechanic. Wrong filter and connectors were installed :-(so my car was leaking oil very badly(down 2 quarts). Poor workmanship could have ruined my engine. Won’t be back for any services.

Long story(below) short, took the car in for an issue that was«repaired» but never fixed after multiple visits. It’s been a couple of years(first time in Aug ’08) since we visited Levin Tire and I still remember what a horrible experience it was. We have a car that rubbed on the back right tire if there were 3 or more people in the car when we would hit some bumps or on left turns. We took it in, they said we needed new struts, shocks, and tires in the back. This of course wasn’t cheap. Fast forward to when I get 4 people in the car for the first time after the work. It still rubs on the back right. I take it back in, Levin said that the shocks needed to be filled up with gas and that they were also binding up. «Sorry about that.» After that visit, the car drove very rigid, shaking at any speed over 50mph. Putting 3 or more people in the car, it still rubbed the back right tire. And now there was a rattle. I of course took it back(within 2 weeks). They now informed me that the car would rub because we would have exceeded the weight limits(why not tell me this to begin with?!?) and that when they drove it, they heard no rattling or rubbing. With a new suspension, the car will be stiff. They told me to bring the car by if I heard the rattling again. On the drive home, there wasn’t any rattling and the car’s suspension seemed to be more forgiving. Within a week, the rattling was back, the rubbing still happened with ~600 lbs of people in the car, although the suspension seemed to be more lax. Shortly after that we moved, so getting them to fix the problem wasn’t possible. Even if we didn’t move, I don’t believe they would have fixed the problems anyway.
