Avalon Hoboken

I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Bozzuto management and the 800 Madison building. I moved from San Francisco a month ago and I am so happy I did. 800 Madison has so many great amenities including workout room, roof top, shuttle to and from the path, pool, BBQs and community room (with free wifi). My boyfriend and I worked with Desirae throughout the process of our move. She always went above and beyond our expectations. Since we’ve moved in, we’ve had questions come up from time to time and Desiare is always there to assist us when needed. We’ve also worked with the Becky who is just as wonderful and accommodating. The entire facility staff from maintenance to cleaning is just fantastic. I couldn’t imaging living anywhere else. Keep up the great work, everyone. We truly appreciate everything you do.
P. S. the building is under new management. It looks like all previous reviews here on Unilocal are relating to that other company, not Bozzuto and the current staff.

I only clicked one star because you cant do negative stars. To save everyone from a LONG email as to why not to move into this building I will just say TRUST ME. Heres a few bullet points as to why:
1) management is the WORST– they treat you like crap and instead of trying to help resolve issues they just continue to add to the problem
2) THE BUILDING IS INFESTED with insects, mice (YES MICE) and a former friend actually stepped on a snake in the middle of the night… our own apartment was infested with ants and they had no resolution… oh and FORGET about an apology.
3) The pool is beyond gross– college parties, people drinking and doing god knows what but refused to even take my son in the pool which is the reason you pay the INSANE rent
4) Better hope it doesn’t rain. One little rain storm and the ENTIRE garage floods and smells like sewage.
5) You need more?
6) It looks like a great apartment for families when really its just a glorified college dorm full of students with no respect for families with sleeping children.
I can list 100 amazing places to live in the Hoboken area but this shouldn’t even cross your mind. THE WORST WORST WORST… Thank god we moved out.

Can I give negative stars? DO NOT MOVE HERE! As the previous review stated, it’s all smoke and mirrors. They market this as an upscale lifestyle. In reality, a large portion of the building is rented to Stevens students, so finding beer cans and kids passed out in the hall is really routine. And the 3AM fire alarms– FUN! I think some moron used shampoo in the hot (really luke warm) tub last year. Additionally, the building and garage floods regularly with sewage. The new managment company is corrupt and dishonest. They will take advantage of residents and cut any corner that they can. This is WAY too much money to pay to live here. Don’t fall for the pretty granite counters and courtyard like I did.

horrible. nice apartment — nice pool… but the building is over 50% of a college dorm. the manager told me the other day. awful to be paying $ 3,300 a month and living with these little engineering kids who are ruder then i could imagine
STEER CLEAR
unless you want the dorm life (prank fire alarms; ridiculous parties; people banging on your doors at all nights).dont rent here
