Came here for my mother’s birthday. I had a feeling she would like a spot like this with its cool lighting and jazzy music. We went all out and had a 3 course meal. Everything was delivered timely and was paced perfectly. I wish I could even pronounce(let alone type) the names of the entrées we got so I can make recommendations. The whole menu was in french! Besides the descriptions of course! All around a good time wish we could have stayed longer but the birthday girl had to work the next day. I do have to mention the dessert which was a fantastic end to the meal. It had some kind of sugar… dome? Crazy! Ever had a dessert so badass it needed it’s own helmet? No? Didn’t think so. Have a look for yourself in the picture we took! I recommend you try out this wonderful restaurant for yourself! Good spot for a date honestly… Not a bad time at all! :D

Came here last Friday evening during Restaurant Week. Some of my complaints I maybe can understand because it was restaurant week but it really should not be an excuse. Had a 8.15pm reservation for my and my fiancé. Arrived at 8.10pm and was seated at 8.50pm even though they kept saying 2 minutes 2 minutes. Once seated was about another 15 minutes until we met out server who took our food order and we had to stop him from running away immediately so we could order some drinks too. The starters came out in a reasonable time and we both enjoyed ours(the puff sausage for me and the salmon for my fiancé). This is when it started to go downhill. After waiting for around another 45 mins and seeing people around us who arrived later than us get their entrees we started to get concerned. Finally our server came over and said dont worry I havent forgot about you your deserts are on their way! When we said what about the entrees he asked if we were joking! He came back from the kitchen and said our meals were being plated now. Another 20 mins later he comes out with a completely different entrée and said the chef felt bad so this entrée was on the house while they cook the ones we ordered! We would have preferred to have one of the dinners taken off the bill not another entrée! As we were tucking into our free entrée our ordered ones arrived! Mine was meant to be a truffle roast chicken with asparagus. I got a dried piece of fried chicken with green beans and lumpy mashed potatoes with no hint of truffle whatsoever. My fiancé had the beef bourguignon which looked and tasted terrible. There was no sauce or red wine in it at all! Finally the desserts! We both love crème brûlée so obviously ordered one each. When they finally came out they were again the worst desserts we have ever had. They were not set at all and resembled a soggy crème brûlée yogurt. We showed the waiter and he took them back from the kitchen and said they were making us more. Now I’m no expert but Im sure it takes a while to make a crème brûlée! Sure enough 20 mins later he comes back and says they are all out of crème brûlée would we like the chef to make us a lava cake! At this point we were very fed up and just asked for the check so we could get out of there. Very disappointing evening not helped by the constant swearing and moaning by one of the servers because it was too busy and in his words«people here are stupid». Our waiter told us to come back again another time and it would be better. I think I will just take his word on that and give it a skip!

Another evening there and another great dinner! Good food(yum the saucisson brioche) and nice team(thanks to the chef Claude and to Fabian). I can only recommend this restaurant, and just a reminder: it’s Hudson Restaurants week right now…

Probably the best restaurant in Hoboken. Great for either brunch or dinner. The host is fantastic and the staff very courteous. So glad that this restaurant is here.

Just went here with my girlfriend and her parents, and — je suis très content! Bouillabaisse was amazing! Heck, everything was amazing! Serg was great and really made us feel at home. He even stayed and drank some wine with us, and we talked and laughed and enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend dining here for an occasion! Merci Brasserie de Paris!

«Food was well-prepared but uneventful. Warm service.» — how my significant other summed up the evening. Really wanted to love it… Escargot was the best of the lot.

Double date last night. Everything was excellent. The Chardonnay with the oysters and snails. The Malbec paired with the braised lamb. Boom. Home run. The Frenchman maître d’ was very welcoming and attentive, but not too attentive. Dinner at the Brasserie de Paris is a nice change of tone from the usual Americana Cuisine generally found in Hoboken. Parking in the building is conveniently validated. Will most certainly be dining there again.

Boyfriend and I came here for date night on a Sunday. Since moving to Hoboken in October, I’ve had this place on my list ESPECIALLY on Sundays since they have fondue nights then. Upon walking in, I immediately noted the great ambience and its French vibe. To start with, we had the platter of cheeses and charcuteries which we very much enjoyed. Of course, we went for the meat fondue which was $ 25. The menu said $ 25 per person, but we were shocked to find out from our waitress that one order was actually enough for two. In addition, this came with a salad and an order of fries. In addition, we found out later that getting the meat fondue was actually all you can eat… which meant they just served us more chicken. :) We spent less than $ 100 here and we had our appetizer, a bottle of wine, plenty of chicken and fries and bread, AND dessert. On top of that, our waitress was very attentive, and we even had the pleasure of meeting the chef. We will definitely be back here on a Sunday!

Came here on New Year’s Eve and had a fabulous meal! On high volume dayes such as NYE, Valentine’s day, etc; I don’t have high expectations(for any restaurant). However, Brasserie was wonderful and I will definitely be back. There was a paired down special a la carte menu for the night, everything we had was DELICIOUS! The lobster bisque and shrimp & scallop appetizer were excellent starts to our meal. My friend and I both ordered the rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection. Also the service was fantastic. I was shocked at how welcoming and attentive the servers were. We even met the chef Claude who we thanked for the delicious meal. He was friendly and invited us back to try his regular menu.(Which he said is less expensive than the special holiday menu… But at $ 38 for rack of lamb, I thought that was totally reasonable especially for the 8 chops plated.) The manager Serge was available and checking on each table making sure everyone had a great start to their new years evening. I will definitely be dining at Brasserie again. It’s a fantastic find in the southwest corner of Hoboken. Delicious food, wonderful Parisian atmosphere, great service. Also, they validate parking which is always a plus in Hoboken!

I’m not sure why people are crazy about this place but clearly there has been a nose dive in the overall quality and service here. Although the food is still pretty good, there were numerous issues with the order and also subpar attention and service even though the restaurant was empty(on a Saturday early afternoon in Hoboken… For brunch, which should have been a Sign in and of itself). I’m not sure I’d ever come back because it was quite expensive, and their attitudes after they made mistakes were not very nice. Also, the French onion soup was really not that good. I could tell as soon as I saw the color of it that it was going to be lacking in flavor and it was… that was shocking because of all the people raving about it. I’d recommend Sam a.m. In jersey city for a more quality brunch meal!

We showed up the day after Christmas for dinner, unsurprisingly to a sparsely populated dining room. Upon entering, we were greeted like family by Serge(the owner?) and his staff, welcoming us in French. We were seated in a little nook near the kitchen, away from the three other parties in the dining room. Our waitress, Anita, filled our water glasses immediately and gave us the specials of the day(a soup, fish, and rack of lamb). She returned a few minutes later with fresh bread and to take our drink orders. Of course, the bf and I ordered two courses of wine — Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet, and Cotes du Rhone(when in France!). We decided on a simple green salad and the escargot for our appetizers, and roasted truffle chicken and the rack of lamb special(medium rare) for our entrees. We didn’t have a wait for our food to be prepared, given the lack of crowd. Serge came over to our table to check on things, and Anita was very attentive in between courses. The food itself was quite good — both the chicken and lamb were cooked very well, tender and juicy and flavorful(except the smaller piece of lamb that ended up a bit overcooked). The escargot went well with the warm bread — so much buttery sauce to mop up. We decided against dessert, having stopped at Carlo’s Bakery on our way to the restaurant, but would have gladly ordered something otherwise. We’d gladly return the next time we’re in Hoboken.

writing this review while i wait for the food to be brought. That itself talks about how long is it taking for the food. The order was taken after 10 mins once we arrived and we were served cold hard bread without any plates for us. Nobody cared to come back to check if we need more bread. Are we fine? Nothing… Its a sure shot NO for vegetarians as my friends on the table who are vegetarian just had 1 ravioli to choose from. I will update the review if at least the food be good once i get the food which doesn’t seems to be on the cards anytime soon. Very poor service. If i don’t come back to update the review you can safely assume the food was not good enough to make up for the service.

I did a double-take when I left here and saw this place had 4 stars. I went here with work people for lunch — upon initial inspection the place had a very French-brasserie look and feel. It was not crowded(maybe 3 small tables total; one left after we ordered). There looked to be one waiter there, with one server but given the small number of tables, nothing that profoundly difficult to handle. Plus the manager was scampering around, though disappeared at some point. We placed our orders after flagging down our waiter(initially seemed a bit slow but maybe that’s the French vibe they are going for). After the appetizer round, 20 minutes had gone by and they were just about to bring our the main courses — at THIS moment in time, our waiter swings on by and tells my boss that the kitchen cannot make his Croque Monsieur after all — granted this was NOT on the menu, BUT the order was initially taken and deemed as «no problem.» How was this not known WAY before that moment in time, or when the order was INITIALLY placed? He said that the kitchen staff had just notified him at that moment that they could not make that dish.(Who is managing this process? Is there always this communication lag? There were hardly ANY customers even there). By that time it was a too late in our lunch time to place an order for a whole other meal so my colleague just settled for a plain salad. That’s my main issue above. Other smaller points, which add up: 1) I ordered my dish with NO fries, my food comes with fries.(not huge deal) 2) Their French version of a garden omelette only contains mushrooms and what appears to be ham and cheese. The ingredients listed include spinach(at least throw in something else green??)(annoying but not major) 3) My colleague ordered steak frites medium — comes out still moo’ing.(annoying but not major). The last minute news that they can’t make an entrée RIGHT before serving the rest of the group is my main bone-to-pick. But if you’re going to make that big of a mistake at least ensure that ALL other [small] details are triple-checked. Then the bill comes out, of course without any writing utensil to even sign it with. It still had the Croque Monsieur listed on it, nothing is compted.(For an item not on the menu, and that was never even delivered, their computer system seemed to spit that out all too easily.) And no manager even swung by to follow-up or recognize the mess ups.

Oui oui! This brasserie is… okay, I don’t know any French words to describe it, but it’s good! I came here for a girl’s lunch out and we definitely enjoyed ourselves. I was a little worried in the beginning because other French restaurants have 0 meatless options, but thankfully Brasserie Paris had a lovely grilled vegetable sandwich on their menu that I couldn’t wait to try. The verdict? It was awesome! The bread alone was outrageous, the veggies were grilled to perfection and the balsamic glaze added a touch of sweetness. It came with fries and a petite mixed greens salad tossed in none other than French dressing. I have to say, even though it wasnt the the focal point of my meal, the biggest surprise had to be the fries. I usually prefer my fries underdone and on the limp side. But these were thin and crispy, and to my surprise they were some of the absolute best fries I’ve ever had in my life. Now I know why they call them French fries, the French really know how to deep fry a potato! The service was good, although we were the only table in the restaurant at the time. The décor isn’t really my style, it seemed a little outdated to me. It’s also not cheap, but hey, it’s Hoboken. So yeah, this place is pretty sweet. Come by and say bonjour!

Stopped to have lunch in Hoboken. Found this fine place on Unilocal. — parking: at sky club apartments parking garage [covered] free for 3 hours, and anyways they validate it for you. — ambience is 5⁄5. So French, nice music and comfy seats. — view makes you live the Jersey experience. — the server and another gentleman hosted us very warmly — outside seats are great but it was hot outside — food was amazing! Asparagus soup was fantastic! Ratatouille and grilled salmon were so good too. Food quality is 6⁄5. — prices for the food quality and ambience are reasonable. For $$, you eat great French food. Overall, if you’re in Hoboken or Jersey City, stop by this place, the whole experience is great.

We came here for brunch this past sunday to celebrate two of our friends birthdays, and we had a great time. I would highly recommend coming here with a large group. They were able to give separate checks to everyone at the table which made paying so much easier! Big plus for that. They also gave the birthday girls this really cool dessert in a candy sphere. I got a bloody mary for $ 5 which i truly enjoyed. They made it well which doesnt always happen. Everyone enjoyed their drinks– bellinis, mimosas, and all. They continuously refilled our waters at all times. Tom, our server, was great! He was very helpful and quick with everything. I got the eggs benedict which was amazing! It was so flavorful. I loved it! This place is located downtown all the way in the back of hoboken so parking was easy. Or you can take the train and walk over — about a 15⁄20 minute walk. They also have outdoor seating.

It was such a wonderful experience sitting under the sun, with umbrella, and a relaxed mind. Brasserie was a cute French brunch place located on the corner side in Hoboken and you would definitely not want to miss out this opportunity. They provide good brunch cocktail detail, with mimosa, Bloody Mary or Bellini to choose from. They also have a list of egg dishes which hit right into my heart. This is exactly the type of food combination I would like! Attentive service as well. They offered to fix the last available umbrella so that we were able to sit outside. Bön appetit!

Couldn’t of had a better start to my dining experience here than being greeted at the door by the owner, whom I assume to be French by his accent. He was very welcoming and friendly, and then I realized this was typical for the entire waitstaff we came into contact with during dinner. Even though it was a quite Wednesday Night, the ambiance was still very nice. The DJ or whatever music player, seemed confused because the songs ranged between Jay-Z to Kidz Bop(why?) to Kings of Leon. Normally, this isn’t something I would comment on but the Kidz Bop really stumped me. Finally, the food. The Moules Marinières(mussels with shallots and white wine) were delicious and a pretty substantial portion. I had the Bouillabaisse which was tasty but I found myself looking for more of a variety and quantity of seafood. My boyfriend had the Steak Frites, which was cooked perfectly and had a great sauce accompanying it. I definitely would go back to try some of the more standard French dishes such as the French Onion soup, Coq Au Vin, Beouf Bourguignon, and obviously, brunch. Also, their Monday Night Steak special seems like a good deal. Basically, looks like I’ll be coming back at least a few more times.

Why 5 stars? I got a complimentary bottle of Malbec from the fabulous Maitre’D. The check-in also scored me an extra glass. Our party of 5 came in early, 6:30 and there were a couple of tables occupied, but mostly empty. I think there was some office party so it became a little loud. The food: very good, as good as Madame Claude in JC. We had the Foie Gras, which was very well made and Riesling sauce was good. Escargot was perfect! The cheese platter wasn’t so bad either and since they get their bread from Choc-O Pan, it was a good combo. My wife had the Rib Eye special which she ordered medium but looked more like medium-well, but is was a pretty good cut. My younger daughter and I both had the Beef Bourguignon, a really good stew. My elder daughter ordered Duck and it was a little dry and very well done(she was expecting it to be medium). Son had the Steak Frites, as he’s that kind of guy — this one was perfectly cooked, pink inside and the fries were delicious. Topped it off with Crème Brulée, Mousse au Chocolat and Profiteroles au Chocola — they had a lot of fun pouring the chocolate sauce over those pastries. Espresso was the real deal. Ended up drinking twice as much wine, as it was my birthday, all is well. I entered the Birthday Club but felt it too much to ask for the 15% discount as we already comped a bottle.
