Always a great time, worth a trip, make a day out of it, and bring some money, you’ll need it. Oh and sunglasses too. Pros: Great way to get to know Hoboken Tons of cool art and local small businesses to support Free samples galore Have the basic carnival/festival foods: zeppoles, cheese steaks, sausage and peppers, stuff like that, all yummy Games and play park for the kids Live music(not amazing but fun) Good walking trip, lots to see, goes for blocks and blocks Lots of dogs to pet, kids, baby strollers and pregnant women everywhere, it is Hoboken after all Cons: For drivers, its grid lock, so take the path or bus or train in and out, don’t drive Sun nails you right in the eyes in the afternoon, bring shades People don’t stay on the right, so you swim upriver sometimes Tips: Fall is better than Spring/Summer as it isn’t scorching hot on the asphalt Get a dinner reservation as everywhere is packed that night

Great street festival running along Washington Street in Hoboken. Music stages frame the two ends of the festival with endless arts and food vendors in between. This year’s headliner was Peter Wolf of J Giles Band fame. Awesome! I thought the Festival was a great way to showcase Hoboken and bring out the crowds. Hoboken is an amazing city which often gets overlooked due to its proximity to NYC. Yet, it has so much to offer on it own. Great shops, restaurants and bars to explore. I definitely look forward to returning next year and hopefully making this an annual event to check out. Great job Hoboken. Keep up the great work.

The best part of this arts & music festival was the end, with performance by Darleen Love, she still has the most powerful beautiful voice & it’s even better as she ages! The Art part, in question. Not much of it, just a lot more generic stuff. I thought since Hoboken is know for it’s art community, there would be a lot more original art. Not the case. Just tent after tent of bad– ok food venders. Very much the same as any other street fair.

Was held on September 30, 2012. Many food stands, of course, but also lots of handmade crafts, arts pieces, health care booths, and OFCOURSE3STAGESOFFREELIVEMUSIC! It rained suddenly and everyone had to duck under the nearest tent, but what a great way to get to know your neighbor! Eminently accessible via PATH from NYC, Jersey City, and Newark. Unlike some other Unilocalers, and since I am less needy, I make it my business to give to as many charities as I can, and I gave to Hoboken Charter School, Jersey Cares, Hudson County Animal League, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Fun day in Hoboken… Lots of people strolling on a beautiful day! Parking wasn’t even as bad as I thought… I concentrated on parking around 8th St and found something right on Washington St and walked… This was my first time at this event, I will definitely come next time… Hoboken is a family & pet friendly town with lots of diversity and a great sense of community!!!

A good number of local artists, vendors, and businesses lined the length of this event, with stages flanking each end and a stage near the center in the kid’s area. We initially came for the music, but a last minute decision to bring four kids with us meant we were now overruled by beings who couldn’t sit still for live music. We managed to get two-and-a-half songs in from a Latin-style band with a female lead. There was plenty to see and do and EAT! This was the perfect location! The area had a good amount of small businesses, as well as the stuff we’re all familiar with. A combination of these businesses and festival food filled our bellies, excessively… gluttonously. The vast choices of unique art, crafts, and jewelry allowed each kid to pick out something special for mommy for Mother’s Day. But I couldn’t find the Unilocal booth!

Spring 2012 Review — Without a doubt, one of my favorite Hoboken events. I’ve hit this festival at least three of the four times they’ve held it since I moved to Hoboken. The great news is that they had amazing weather today and that the festival is growing! The festival has expanded further down Washington Street well past Newark Street. It has even grown down a couple side streets, too. The fest features local artists, food, gifts, music, kid’s activities, and all of Hoboken’s movers and shakers are out either enjoying the shopping and entertainment or volunteering at a booth. Anyone who is anyone is at the Hoboken Art & Music Festival — especially Hoboken Unilocalers. Shout out to the famous Miss Steph and Mike, Brandon, Jeremy, and Kevin. I’m pretty sure that only two of those five names are correct, but I fake it ’til I make it! After this year’s event I walked away with a baby shower gift, a few new Unilocal friends, and a slight sunburn. A great day, as expected, and another fantastic HAMF.

3.5. Fun, free event with tons of vendors. Decent food(yes, got a funnel cake), cool shops, good music. The gorgeous weather today made it even better! I could have lived without the guilt trips from people asking for money from charities or telling me to start a revolution, but I suppose that’s inevitable. It was quite crowded and some of the vendors were wayyy more expensive than usual at these festivals, but it was a really nice day out in Hoboken. I thought there was a Unilocal booth, but couldn’t find it :(Oh well, next time.

This biannual festival attracts a lot of people and can get very crowded. But it’s always a nice stroll. Held every May and September.
