It’s my go to place for lobsta rolls and crab rolls when I’m outside of Boston. This place is better than the Luke’s in Boston.

Went back to this place again for a late lunch and expected to see some purell wipes after reading Josh’s reply on my previous review. But there were none!!! The food was still tasty so it’s okay. I found out about the stamps only today! We were missing out on the stamps all these time! Make sure you ask for a stamp card if you are a regular here and start collecting for that free lobster roll!

Delicious! Stopped on here as a second choice but it should definitely have been my first! The lobster grilled cheese is delicious with clam chowder! I would come here again! So fresh and its not heavy, it won’t weigh you down so you can keep enjoying Hoboken. It’s small and cute and the sun hits it just right.

Ordered a lobster roll from the Luke’s Lobster truck on the pier in Hoboken. I was definitely blown away by the freshness of the lobster and it was deliciously moist butter in a toasted roll. Washed it down with their root beer and enjoyed this all by the waterfront in Hoboken. $ 17 for a roll but every bite was worth it. They also take credit card at the truck, and there were plenty of tables and seats the enjoy the view. I’m already craving a monster roll right now as I am making this review and want to go back asap!

Dude, if you haven’t had Luke’s Lobster, get to one, now! The gf told me Luke’s Lobster was a must when we are visiting the states. I thought it was just another Red Lobster, boy was I wrong. It took a few overlooks to finally find the hole in the wall between 2nd and 3rd street on Washington, but the place was a cozy spot with about 6 – 10 seats for eat-in. It took a minute or two to figure out what we wanted(even though the menu was pretty small). The employee at the cashier was probably thinking I’m crazy for taking this long, but was patient and even suggested I go with the soup combo to save a little money. I ordered the shrimp roll and gf ordered the lobster roll, we got the soup combo that the employee suggsted that included soup, soda and chips. We weren’t planning on stuffing ourselves, so we shared the meal. I usually do not go into too much of detail of the food, but seriously, the rolls were so perfect, how could I not? My shrimp roll, just the roll, was perfectly buttered. Not too heavy and not too light. The shrimp(to my surprise) was cold, but that made the roll very interesting since I don’t think I have ever had something similar. Gf said her lobster roll, was perfectly buttered as well and the seafood was fresh as fresh could be! The only downside to our experience was the $ 35 bill for lunch. Other than that, the place was clean, employees were nice, food came out quick and was fresh! When and if I do come back to NJ, Luke’s will be on my checklist of things to eat. I’m glad I don’t live in the states anymore because I would so be bankrupt if I had access to such awesome seafood rolls.

So my boyfriend and I decided to take a trip to Hoboken just to try Luke’s Lobster, haha. It’s not too far from where you get off from The Path, and inside its a little small, but not meant to defer anyone from eating there of course. We decided to get two combos, which comes with a lobster roll, a soup, chips and a drink. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any New England chowder so we both got the lobster bisque instead. The lobster roll, while yes a little small at first glance, actually has a lot of lobster claws in them and with the soup we actually were quite full after. The lobster was totally fresh and was garnished very simply. The soup itself was probably the first time we ever had lobster bisque with good chunks of lobster meat in it. While expensive($ 55 tfor both of us), it was totally worth it.

Absurd. They are only getting the second star because the food was tasty HOWEVER. To be considered a lobster/crab/shrimp ROLL, the fucker needs to made on a goddamn roll not a singular piece of folder over Texas toast the size of my palm. I mean seriously? $ 16? I’m still hungry. And not in a glutinous way, in a I-just-popped-a-piece-of-complimentary-table-bread-in-my-mouth kinda way. $ 35 for two people for lunch [because we were advised to get combos meaning $ 8 for chips and soda] to leave as hungry as you were when you arrived. Kiss my ass.

A hidden gem. If you walk too fast, you might miss it. Fresh seafood isn’t cheap, but Luke’s prices are reasonable for really top quality crab and lobster. Just a roll probably won’t fill you up, but the roll & soup combo hits the spot. People who know and appreciate food quality would love it. But definitely not a sit down style restaurant, so plan accordingly. We go there almost every Sunday after church around the corner.

When to Luke’s with some friends as we were seeing some bands at the First Unitarian Church. Luke’s is just a few blocks away. We all bought some variation of the Maine platter — I got the crab, lobster and shrimp ½ roll platter. With the potato chips and great variety of Maine soda, it was a fulfilling dinner. Everyone was nice as well. We were there on a Tuesday night so it was not busy at all. Definitely would go back. Highly recommend.

Went to Luke’s today around 8:30 p.m. It took a while to find parking, but hey that’s Hoboken on a Saturday night! The place is really small, but cozy, especially the two seats near the window. We decided to split a lobster roll, since we just wanted to try it and I wasn’t starving. Decided to get the combo with a clam chowder soup, pickle, chips, and drink. FYI, the lobster roll is on the small side so I wouldn’t recommend splitting it if you are really hungry. It was pretty good, but I should have put some Sriracha sauce to make it amazing! They had more than a couple Sriracha bottles lying around, which I thought was random. I was just expecting more of a lemony taste. The roll is on the expensive side, but I think it’s justifiable because the restaurant practices sustainability.

I don’t know what’s better here, the lobster roll or the lobster bisque., y friend and I came here for dinner before a night out and got both! Insane amount of food but literally amazing. Huge chucks of lobster and super fresh. Some people complain it’s on the pricey side but common people it’s lobster. There’s limited room inside so probably not best for a big group unless the weathers nice enough to sit outside. If it’s less then 3 people you’re good! Can’t wait to go back.

I’ve eaten at Luke’s Lobster too many times to count. It’s a small tiny shack with nautical vintage décor. There’s a large chalkboard menu with the prices listed. They have a very small eat area(like bar stools) inside the restaurant and a small outdoor seating area. I’ve gotten the lobster and crab roll; my boyfriend has tried the shrimp roll. We both agree that all the rolls are delicious and filling. Their bread is deliciously buttered and toasted; the seafood in the rolls taste fresh and delicious as well. Their lobster bisque is also amazing! It’s served hot with oyster crackers. However, we’re not fond of their drink choices. We tried their blueberry honey lemonade(I think that’s what it was called) and ginger lemonade; they’re too unusual for us. Luke’s Lobster’s menu is on the pricey side, but it’s expected since it’s seafood. Also you don’t have to worry about trying to crack open anything since it’s already done for you. Plus, it’s worth it!

I went to this place about a month ago with my girlfriend. This was my first experience with any Luke’s Lobster location, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. The restaurant had a pretty nice/clean looking interior although the size of the restaurant was fairly small. Their menu was small, simple, and straightforward. The Noah’s ark seemed like a great way to try pretty much everything the restaurant had to offer, so we ordered that plus an extra lobster roll(girlfriend has been here before and warned me about what kind of portion sizes to expect). We took a seat in their tiny outdoor seating area(3 – 4 tables available) and waited while our food was prepared. After a reasonable amount of time, our food was brought out to us, and I started trying everything one by one. The shrimp, crab, and lobster used in the rolls were all very fresh, and it was evident from the taste and texture of the seafood. I really enjoyed the seasoning they used, and I felt that they used the perfect amount of it – just enough to complement the flavors of the fresh seafood, but not enough to overwhelm my palate. The bread itself was excellent as well. It was toasted just enough to produce a small but satisfying crisp every time I bit into it. The bread was also very buttery, and if it was eaten by itself, it probably would have been too buttery to enjoy. Thankfully, when eaten with the seafood, the flavor of the butter was not overpowering at all. At the end of it all, I felt that the overall mix of flavors was exactly where it needed to be for all 3 sandwiches. There was not one ingredient that seemed to be out of balance, and the main focus of each roll was always the fresh seafood – the way it should be! I don’t live in this area. but even if I did, I can’t imagine myself being a regular here for two main reasons: the prices and the portions. The prices seem unusually high for a small amount of food(even by seafood standards). This place is definitely quality over quantity, and this is usually fine with me to a certain extent. At this place, it’s just a little extreme for me. If you have an even larger appetite than I do, then you’re probably going to have a very difficult time getting full without spending an absurd amount of money. With that said, I do think this place is very worth trying at least once!

I was excited to be able to sit down and enjoy a lobster roll vs eating it on the go from the truck at Pier 13 but after dining here, I’m really torn between 3 or 4 stars. Clearly, I’ve gone with 4 and this is based on past experiences with the chain. The lobster roll had me torn as I wanted to stick with what I know is good, but also try the other rolls. We ended up getting Noah’s ark, which is 2 halves of all the rolls(shrimp, crab, and lobster) plus 4 crab claws, chips and drinks for each person. It seemed like a great deal($ 44) to be able to try all the different rolls and not leave wanting a seconds after your first($ 16) roll. In the end, I didn’t think it was that great. It seems like they skimped out on all the meat and the crab claws were miniature. Definitely sticking too a full size lobster roll next time, it’s worth leaving wanting more.

A sunny Saturday afternoon… strolling down Washington Street I was debating between Mamouns and Luke’s Lobster and opted for the brand new entrant, because a beautiful summer afternoon demands something special. For $ 20.33(inclusive of taxes) you get the special: Lobster roll + drink + a bag of chips. To be honest I would prefer a side of salad instead of the chips — but I’m not complaining. The roll: So so fresh with HUGE chunks of perfectly seasoned lobster. As a couple of reviewers have pointed out, it’s not a big roll, but it’s pretty substantial and it’s yummy. Is it a lunch portion? Probably not. If the husband was with me, he’d definitely need a soup or another side to make a meal of it. Currently the sides are pretty limited — only saw a grilled cheese on the menu, so hoping they’ll add more options — especially vegetarian ones and a few salad options. I absolutely loved that the Luke’s Lobster roll didn’t have any mayo(which I hate), onions or any other sundry ingredients to take away from the flavor. This one was pure lobster all the way. The lobster came on a buttered roll — nice touch. Looking to try their shrimp roll($ 8) next time. Welcome to Hoboken!

Good, not nearly as great as I expected this place to be with all the hype. Expensive, small portions and tasty but not out-of-this-world-good. I’ve had a handful of lobster rolls in my life. One being in Maine that was expensive but justified. $ 16 plus tax for a hot dog bun filled with lobster. They do give you lots of lobster +1 for Luke’s because they’re no joke and they don’t skimp. The seasonings made it taste like a pizza bagel — I kid you not. I said this aloud and my friend who was there with me agreed. This lobster roll tastes just like a pizza bagel. That was odd. The lobster meat on the roll is cold. Now I’m not positive but I thought I remembered the lobster being warm in Maine so I was surprised to bite into cold lobster. It is more like lobster salad(without all the mayo). This place was cool. I like it as a food truck at Pier 13 but don’t really see myself frequenting this store front. Glad I tried it though!

Welcome to Hoboken Luke’s Lobster! Today was their grand opening so I had to head over to check out their permanent location. About the size of 2 of their trucks, they manage to dish out their tasty rolls as quickly as the line formed. Eating a lobster roll anywhere else will likely create disappointment as Luke’s rolls are fresh and piled high with naked lobster chunks(none of this hide the lobster in a mayo mix stuff going on here). Very pleased with my visit today! It is a bit pricey — my roll ended up being $ 17.01 with tax so I will have to limit my visits, but Ill only be able to stay away so long. Would love to see an additional option on the menu for non-shellfish friends(aside from grilled cheese) so I can stop by more often with friends. I also grabbed a cup of their lobster bisque to have as an afternoon snack and it had just the right about of creaminess with a few tiny lobster chunks thrown in for a nice surprise. Best of luck with your new place! Note: The older reviews are for either their truck or other stores.
