New York Harbor Jetski

This was one of our highlights of our visit to New York City. Highly recommended!

We LOVED our experience with New York Harbor Jet Ski. My husband and I had a great time and got views we never got before, even after being lifelong residents of NY and NJ. We’ll be back!

Wow!!! Such an amazing experience! My friends and I had a blast doing this, what a great way to see the beautiful sights of New York City! I highly recommend doing this at some point even if your from ny/​nj it’s a must. The ride around the landmarks you come across everyday is so much different on water and this gives you a chance to sit back and admire the view without the constant buzzing. Also, our tour guide Charlie was awesome. He’s kind and very knowledgeable. I will be doing this again real soon! Thank you New York Habor Jetski’s for such a great experience!

It was a great experience per se, but not convinced that it is the best company to book it with.
The guys running the business were ok but it felt like they weren’t in a mood to do the tour and so we were rushed to move from one spot to another briefly stopping to pose for some photos. The background of the photos taken were rather mediocre, there were much better spots along the way… not that we got a chance to make any suggestions at all.

Great experience. Took my 16 year old daughter on trip around Manhattan and we had a blast.

Simply said, our jetski ride was one of the best times I have ever had-​not only while living in the NYC area, but in my life. I was giddy upon realizing the freedom within the rivers and bay among sailboats, ferries, barges, and other vessels. I’ve been to Liberty Island several times, but it does not compare to doing donuts on a jetski in front of it. NYHJ is a MUST!

This was an experience that we are happy to have done, but would only do again on a calm water morning! My husband and I purchased a Groupon last summer and the guys a NYHJ honored it this summer (thank you). We did the 90 minute tour and left Hoboken about 3:50 once we saw that a nasty thunderstorm was going to stay west of the harbor. However, the winds had churned up the already choppy afternoon water. While I felt like I had gotten the shit kicked out of me, it was a blast! The unique perspective of the NYC landmarks was stunning. Darting and dodging the evening rush hour of ferries was wild.
I never felt completely unsafe, but I have a few suggestions to make sure you have a great ride:
— Wear waterproof gloves with some grip. My hands are small and the rough water already made it hard to hang on to the throttle, but also being wet made it a real challenge.
— Don’t take anything you don’t want to lose. You will get drenched and there is no ‘going back’ to retrieve a lost hat or pair of glasses.
— Be prepared to drink some Hudson River. It just happens, you will be fine!
— Take frequent, but brief breaks. Make sure to tell your guide that you want to do this. Otherwise, they will be hauling ass out ahead of you and they don’t circle back to check on you.
— Be ready for a unique and fun adventure… you will have a lot of great stories to tell your friends and family!!!

There are many reasons that this company is receiving 5 stars. We went on the tour around Manhattan. As a resident of NYC who has taken a few sailing trips, this was probably one of the best water front tours I’ve seen. Not only were we able to see the Statue of Liberty, Downtown, all the bridges and the Pepsi sign from a new vantage point, but we were also able to see the islands and places north of the city that you can only do in a boat (or jet ski). The guide was extremely helpful to all levels of participants (even allowing us to go fast and have fun on the water). This is a terrific group and I recommend using them if you’re trying to rent a jet ski and live in Manhattan or Hoboken.

This was the most fun I had while I was visiting New York City! It was a great and unique way to take in all the sights.
The tour was just as described online and the guide made sure we saw all the sights and stayed safe out there in the harbor. He also did an excellent job at taking the pictures at each and every of the sights!
Amazing experience. Definitely go for it!

I had one of the BEST experiences of my life in one of the coolest places on earth.

What a great experience!
I booked the Manhattan tour as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday.
When I called to make the reservation Brian took the call and he was great.
I straight up asked him about some of the bad reviews on Unilocal from last year and he explained the unfortunate situation that took place with marina they were renting. As a former small business owner I hate hearing of situations like that because it can cripple a business and you often you can’t recover. I felt secure making the reservation with them, I could tell they were a legit business after speaking with Brian.
I made the reservation about 7 weeks in advance for Labor Day weekend. I had questions leading up to the tour and Brian got back via email immediately. He also confirmed with me about 5 days prior with instructions as where to go and what to bring the day of.
The day of tour ⁹⁄₆ we arrive at pier 13 and it’s super easy to see where to check in. It’s a blue booth that has a sign saying company name, no confusion there. Give your ID and get on with it. I love when shit is easy!
We get down to the dock and Keith is waiting for us. Cool guy, funny with lots of energy. He gave us life jackets to wear, showed us where we can leave our belongings (lock box) and gave us instructions as to how to ride and what to do if you fall off. He gave all the «need to know» type of things without beating you down with instructions.
Our guide was Charlie.
Charlie rocked as well. He basically was there to make sure we didn’t do dumb shit on the jet skis and we had fun. He also took the pictures at all the cool landmarks (get the picture package, you will be sorry if you don’t). Charlie is also a professional photographer so he did an excellent job lining up the shots.
Jet skiing through Manhattan is the best NYC experiences I’ve had. My boyfriend said it was the «best birthday he has ever had».
If you’re thinking of doing this… DO IT!
and use these guys to do it because they made it so enjoyable and easy!

If you’re thinking about doing this, do it!!! The guides were the perfect combination of fun, helpful, and safe. The jet skis are powerful. The views are unparalleled. The water is fine. The adrenaline rush is awesome.
I’ve lived in Hoboken for 14 years, and this was arguably the coolest NYC thing I’ve done. Suggest going in the morning when you have a better chance for calm waters.

GREAT experience all round. Went for my husband’s birthday and did the 3 hour tour past Statue of Liberty, under Brooklyn Bridge and up to the Pepsi Cola sign. Really memorable outing!
Brian was really helpful. We had booked last year with a Groupon and it had to be rescheduled several times (mostly bad luck with weather). We got refund last year but he honored the same price this year, and was always really responsive by email each time.
The guide was great, made it a lot of fun out on the water, and also took great care with getting lots of great photos. They sent the link to photos right away.
I’d recommend this to anyone. Really memorable tour and fantastic value too!

Soooo disappointed. When my 25 year old son came out for 5 days I booked this for him, in June. When thunderstorms were predicted to roll in the company called to cancel, I thought this was very prudent they offered to rebook but that wasn’t possible while my son was here so they said a refund would be issued. Almost two months later nothing. I have now had to dispute the charge through American Express. To add insult to injury they sent me a message today asking how they did and if I would recommend them. Well NOT at this point. Really too bad I had hoped to book them when my son comes out again but not if my account isn’t refunded as they told me they would in the phone.

Had a miscommunication and hope they will do better next time.

I had such an amazing time! I would do it again! They are super professional and friendly! On time and catered to our needs! Charlie is the man!

My group and I had a great time thanks to the staff at NY harbor jet ski. I had never jet ski before and was a little nervous but all that washed away after a few minutes of instruction and reassurement from our guide. We got to see all the sites of the harbor and actually learned a lot about the city that I grew up in funny enough. We will definitely book these guys again for another seaside adventure!

I had a birthday surprise planned for my boyfriend, had his swimsuit and towel secretly packed in a bag and everything. I confirmed the reservation less than 24 hours before and at 10:30 at night, the day before my boyfriend’s birthday, Brian calls me to say that he was having an issue with his landlord, that they have moved, and will reschedule or give me a refund. Not only was this shitty business but it ruined my boyfriend’s birthday as I had nothing else planned!
I thought to myself, whatever, things happen so I tried to reschedule. After prompt correspondence between Brian and myself, the new dates he offered didn’t work and I asked for a refund. He was quick to respond to the initial reservation and rescheduling but now that I was asking for a refund he completely ignored my phone calls, voicemails, texts, and e-​mails. Had to file a claim with my credit card company to get my money back!
TERRIBLE business. Steer clear of this bullshit, go use Jetty Jumpers or something.

Similarly to the others, I purchased a Groupon and scheduled an appointment. We needed to rescheduled, so we emailed a two week later date, and was no issue.
Parking: $ 10 – 20 as Hoboken usually is. I don’t usually hang out in Hoboken simply because you get bent over for showing up.
Brian, Charlie, and Jon were all very cordial and provided the tour group with a brief, informative overview of the conditions and what to do in case of help i.e. falling off, big waves, big boats, etc.
Bright, sunny Sunday and a crowd from Pier 13 that looked curious. Warm water and phenomenal views up and down the East River, Hudson River, and NY Harbor as to someone who has taken a ferry, but getting wet and going the speed you want creates a much more intimate experience.
