Riverfront Car Wash

This is the worst car wash — I would give it zero stars if I could. Go to the car wash on observer highway in Hoboken instead.

This place sucks. If you need some mud washed off the car, running it through will be Ok, but not for a thorough cleaning.
Was there earlier, got the $ 18 Super and gave a five dollar tip. I asked them to be sure to do a thorough vacuuming and they said sure.
As usual, vacuumed the carpets for about 30 seconds and didn’t do seats or anything else.
Wiping dash and stuff like that? Forget it.
Exterior was ok, but still had remnants of mess from recent snow that they didn’t bother getting off. Been there many times and went home to finish the job correctly. Today I decided was the last time.

I really did love this place but recently it’s been getting kinda crappy. The VIP service for $ 27 is totally worth it but the a only when they have it. Very sporadic.
The normal $ 14 wash truly sucks. Hose down car, half ass job drying it, and barely do anything in the interior. Not worth the money at all.

My husband and I just bought a new car, 2016 Subaru Outback, about two weeks ago and brought it here for a wash. Bad choice. They ruined the new paint job. Our car doesn’t look new anymore. The paint job that had a new, slick, buttery look and feel now has small scratches all over from the back to the top to the front hood of the car. They must be using sandpaper instead of towels. I am livid!
If you want to take care of your your new car and keep that shiny, new car paint job, PLEASE DO NOT take your car here. They will mess it up for sure and simply don’t care. See another client’s photos below of her scratched car. We now have the same thing. Ridiculous!

Horrible horrible service the second time I come here and I have to double check my car to make sure I get what I paid for! And of course NOT… They only vacuum what you can see. I paid for a full service and they didn’t clean the back of the inside of my car I had to let them know… Never again

$ 16 for a simple wash + vacuum; couldn’t tell if the undercarriage was washed much at all. Perhaps the VIP wash is better, but the towels they used to dry the car left little pieces of themselves all over. Rather disappointing.
At least they take credit card.

This is a terrible place to get your car cleaned. First and foremost I paid $ 16 and my car wasn’t fully cleaned– there was still bird droppings on my car rear windshield right after being washed. I had already tipped these guys $ 5 extra so I walked over and explained in Spanish that my car still had shit on it. One guy goes over and attempts to clean my car for a second time. He gives a few swipes of the rag and walks away again but the bird shit is still there. What is the point of getting my car washed if you aren’t going to clean it properly?!
I know I sound like a nit picker but there were some big droppings that obstructed my rear view vision. I was warranted to say something; it’s like going to the dry cleaners and having the stain still on there.
I walk inside and talk with a very unpleasant girl. She did not want to bothered with this and really did not care. This is customer service, if you don’t like doing that, then find another job! I explained my situation to which she replied, ‘what would you like me to do about?’
I said that your company did not perform satisfactory because my car is still dirty and I would like it cleaned again or please refund my money. She curtly said ‘no’ and I said you lost me as a customer. I was polite the whole time and wasn’t going to get upset. I was lucky enough to have this happen the first time going there so I won’t be back.
I read the other Unilocal review about missing money and my loose change was missing as well.
High prices mixed with mediocre work and horrible customer service experience topped off with theft means I drive a little further into Hoboken to give my business to a company that appreciates it.

Despite my better judgement, I went here this morning. I knew from the 90;s that this place was not particularly good, but my car sat for 2 weeks and was really dirty.
The front of the car is not clean, at all.
The towels (rags??) they used to dry the car couldn’t have been clean, because there are now amazing scratches in my cars hood and roof that were not there before.
I am pretty sure they are just in the wax/​top coat and can be removed — well, I hope they can, because I am about to go wash the car by hand and wax it to hopefully get some of these scratches out.
I miss the self wash place up in the heights/​UC they tore down a bit ago, that was the best option.

Absolutely, by far the worst car wash I have ever been to. I live in Hoboken, so this is very convenient for me. I gave it a few tries and every single time it was such a waste of money. The inside of my car was still dirty, they didn’t clean/​spray anything in the inside of my car. The last time I watched them «clean» it and they quickly wiped down the seats but didn’t touch anything near the radio, gear, center console etc. My mats still look like they weren’t even vacummed. For $ 16.00 you would expect a job well done. Would not recommend!

If you want a clean car, don’t go here. They did a terrible job but I was in a rush so came back the following day. They did it again for free. Another terrible job. Everything I specifically said they missed, they missed again even though the guy repeated what I said. They never clean the dash or console but this time even the outside of the car was still dirty! I’m done.

I have been going to this place for years, with the free service after going ten times and it has always been pretty good. I had a disaster happen when my seat-​belt blocked the door and it rained into my SUV overnight completely soaking the seat. On a rainy day when they were closed i drove over there, explained how mold makes me sick, the owner Ofer, came out, called in a specialist from home, explained his expertise at this after Hurricane Sandy, listened to me tell him do whatever because if he cant fix it i will buy a new $ 1,000 for my health, called me the next day to explain they had been able to figure out how to dry everything, charged me $ 150 and received a big tip and its been a month and the car is great — absolutely went above and beyond for me and i couldn’t be more pleased — customer for life

Not sure what all the hate is about on these reviews. Most car washes tend to be a let down. I’m not saying this place is legendary, however, it certainly does the trick. I usually do the $ 18 «VIP» package. It takes 5 to 10 minutes. I’m always pleased after.

So my grandmother could hand pick up the crap in my car better than this place. I’m not basing this review on on time, I’ve given the five or six chances. Now I’m the idiot for going back.
I always say, «I have a 4 year old please pay more attention to the vacuuming». Everytime, it sincerely looks like nobody touched it. No attention to detail, cup holders not cleaned… the inside is barely touched. Then I’m the pain in the ass asking for them to RE vacuum. To too it off I paid $ 16!!!
Find another sucker dudes. Bye!

Inconsistent the operative word here. Got the best «Mini Detail» EVER of my car (I have 3 kids!) a year ago for just $ 25. Tipped the guys profusely and was so happy. Went back 6 months later, the detail had jumped to $ 45 but still awesome. Tipped the guys again! Today? Went back, the «Mini Detail» is now $ 95. And the «maitre dee» couldn’t have been more rude. Need to find a new car wash in the Hoboken area. Any suggestions?

Went here yesterday. Someone decided to help themselves to my meter money a few dollars in coins and 2 singles. F’in dirt bags. So now when I go back the next few times I will be sure to clean my car out and in the tip jug the will find a note explaining that I am not tipping since last time they stole my change. It really sucks the people that run this probably don’t care their employes steal.

Usually very good! But you can’t always be sure. They do inconsistent work depending on how busy they are.
The guys there work really hard so I hate to complain but I’m not always happy with the job done.

If you are going to the car wash for a basic wash on the exterior and don’t need to interact with the employees then it is just like any other car wash, average.
For interior work, the few times that I have gone there, the cleaning is less thorough than average. They miss a lot of areas, like inside cup holders and door pockets. They will just clean what is immediately visible and quick to do.
They seem very hurried and don’t take their time as other places and it shows in the results.
Customer service is really bad and employees can be rude, so as long as you do not have to speak or interact with anyone, you are fine.

Love this place! They go above and beyond and really do a nice job on my SUV.
