Just stopped in to Sullivans to satisfy my hunger, and walked away enjoying a juicy well seasoned burger and fries. It has a neighborhood bar feel to it, not fancy, just right to have a burger and a beer. I give Sullivans four and a half bow ties out of seven.

Food is good, service is mediocre. My boyfriend and I were starving after walking along Pier C and we came to Washington St to find something to eat. We were so overwhelmed by what’s there, in a good way. There’s just endless rows of restaurants and eateries, it was pretty awesome. We wanted American, preferably brunch, though it was getting pretty late for it(it was a little bit before 3pm). We passed by Sullivan’s and decided to give it a shot. We sat down and the waitress handed us menus. They weren’t offering brunch at the moment, so we checked out their regular menu. My bf really wanted a drink, so when the waitress came around, he asked what was on tap. It was the standard stuff, nothing impressive. He asked if they had Leinenkugel’s Summer Sandy and they didn’t. Not even in bottle. It’s still summer! How do you not have summer sandy and call yourself a bar? Anyway, we proceeded with ordering without a beer. We split a chicken sandwich and Jalapeño poppers. The chicken sandwich was surprisingly delicious. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned and was bedded with delicious Cole slaw. I actually don’t like Cole slaw but it really worked in that sandwich. The fries were good as well. The Jalapeño poppers were good, but I’ve had better. Overall, not a bad place to dine at. It’s chill and they have good food. Now if only their beer selection was better… I would probably come more often.

Sullivan’s certainly does not«stink» as it’s name implies. The food is actually quite good. The burgers are solid and their other sandwiches are good too. They have some really good entrees too. Never had a bad meal here. Not a bad choice for bar food /comfort food. Good prices too. This is more of a local watering hole than a place where you’ll expect to have a rip-roaring good time. It’s pretty small inside and a very low key atmosphere. Beer selection is pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary. I also love that you can just sit outside and order beers without them requiring you to order food. So we’ll usually come here if we want to sit outside and have a few drinks or if we are in the mood for some simple yet good comfort food.

This might be my new go-to place in Hoboken. Very good quality food and atmosphere. Also not as expensive compared to other Hoboken bar and grills. Haven’t had a thing I didn’t like

One of the only true dives that’s around in Hoboken anymore. I’m surprised this place, which is on Washington, hasn’t been scratched and changed into a bar that plays 90’s Pop/House music with dead animals on the wall serving $ 6 drafts with a DJ that comes in at 11pm to play Z100 top 100 songs. Oh wait… this is a review FOR S. Sullivan’s…sorry…venting about how everything is the same in Hoboken. S. Sullivan’s fils the void of a casual dive bar. It does what it wants to and that is just serving beers and drinks to drunks. It doesn’t try to be anything else and around here… this is kinda what we all need sometimes. I hope it stays. I’m only giving it three stars, because I don’t think it really needs more, but sometimes it’s nice to have a neighborhood, three star dive around the corner.

Close to Stevens. Drinking after a bad lecture is good(it is, even after a good one). The waitresses are generally friendly. They aren’t particularly good with knowing cocktails(except for the common ones, like Screwdriver), but are open to new recipes. Good food. They should lay a little bit more stress on ergonomics.

Went there last night with my fiancé and a couple of friends to grab some drinks. Stood at the bar for about 10 minutes waiting my turn to order a round of drinks. Bartender blatantly ignored me and served people that were behind me. He eventually took my order but never got me my drinks, all the while serving drinks to other patrons. I’m not normally the person to pull the race card but when it is so obvious, I can’t help but call a spade a spade. To that douchebag bartender, stop the ignorance and grow up. My money is just as green and is worth just as much as the next person. And to confirm my suspicions, while walking out of the bar, we told the bouncer and another waitress about the bartender and they confirmed that he was a douche and have had several complaints about him in the past.

I’m surprised for all the times I’ve come to Stinky’s, I haven’t written a review of this bar. I’d come here off and on during college, and now once in while for brunch or dinner before my pool matches. The staff here has always been great, the food is reasonably priced, and it tastes good. Get the chicken tenders, they do not disappoint(Even better if they still have their ½ price appetizer happy hour … couldn’t say because I haven’t gotten there before 7PM since my college years) Their burgers are good as well, and they make a good Steak and Eggs for Brunch. I’ll be back again no doubt about it.

I really don’t know what to say about Stinky’s. I randomly end up here and always end up having a pretty good time. It’s nothing big, it’s actually a little small but the layout makes it look bigger than it actually is. The bartenders are always pretty chill dudes. They have good random specials too. If you’re looking for a place to just hang with friends and have a good time over a few drinks, Stinky’s is your place.

I came here for a few drinks with my friends and this place is a great place if you are looking for a low key night. We came, had a few drinks, bartenders were friendly, prices were average… i would say its just an average bar. Nothing would make me come back or not come back. Just a good spot to stop on my usual Hoboken bar crawl type of night

I’ve never eaten here, but my beer was cold. Therefore, this place gets three stars. Very, very different crowd than at most Hoboken bars. This may be one of only a handful of dive-bars left in town, which may make you happy or sad. Either way, Hoboken is changing and there’s nothing anybody can do about it. I’ll be back someday.

Nothing Stinks about Sullivan’s! I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place during this trip! I never really know where to go or what to do in Hoboken, but with a little determination, my friend and I were able to wander in to this little pub =) There is nothing fancy about it, but the people are what made us return for a late nightcap after partying and exploring the City. The patrons are warm and friendly, so if you’re looking for a neighborhood spot, this could very well be it. Everyone seemed to already know each other, and I saw a lot of familiar faces each time we returned. Other things to note: they have a digital juke-box, good beer, great staff, AND they stay open super late!

What can I say about this bar? Not gimmicky, quiet, decent prices, nice staff. Overall, nothing to write home about. I went here yesterday with some friends to watch the Seattle/Washington game and it was just empty enough that it was quiet, but not lonely. Only one bartender was working and he was always there to fill our drinks the second they reached the bottom. I didn’t order anything in terms of food, but I had a couple of my friend’s wings and they weren’t that great. Not terribly flavorful and a little on the chilly side. That’s not going to stop me from coming back here and trying other things, cause I saw some chili that looked REALLY good. This is a good place to go if you’re looking for a more low-key happy hour or Sunday Funday. I’m not sure if I’d go here on a Friday or Saturday night, but if you prefer quieter outings, Sullivan’s is definitely a place to add to your list.

The name is stupid. I’m just gonna call it Sullivans. Over all nice bar in Hoboken. Reasonable prices for beers at least. They have a juke box, beer towers, and typical bar food(nachos were ok). Service was good. Bathrooms were clean. If you’re looking for an Irish pub type place, definitely check it out.

My neighborhood hang out that felt like my neighborhood hang out before I even lived in the neighborhood. Got that? Outdoor seating in the warm weather, big open doors/windows let the air into this cozy Irish pub. Lots of regulars, good bartenders, and great specials for happy hour and others that run all day($ 15 buckets) go nicely with a solid pub grub menu.

I have only been to Sullivan’s two times(once to drink, once to eat and drink). This is a very chill bar and I am rating it four stars instead of three because they were OPENFORCHRISTMAS and the atmosphere was great. We went here since it was literally one of the only open bars on Christmas this year, and we lucked out. Ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and it was delicious! Different from the ‘standard fried chicken patty, bleu cheese and hot sauce’, this chicken sandwhich was delightfully grilled, with mozzerella cheese, sauteed onions and a dash of hot sauce all on an italian loaf. The portion was also HUGE. Each half was like a full sandwich! I was pleasantly surprised. The only thing I would have liked would have been better service, but it was Christmas, they were the only bar open and had only one waitress and one bartender. I think they did great for the amount of staff running the place.

Stop #3 on the all-girl bar crawl. HOT bar tender. Awesome artwork on the walls. Fun all around! Drinks weren’t expensive, and it wasn’t crowded. I really, really do love Hoboken in the summer when everyone is DTS.

Service was slow accompanied by uncalled for attitude. Food was below mediocre. I struggled to give this place 2 stars, but just had absolutely no reason to. Will never come back. Boyfriend said beer was cold, I guess that’s good, but since I don’t drink beer, still doesn’t sway my judgement.

I absolutely love Stinkys. I first tried out this place when they $ 2 domestics everyday. Now they have $ 1 mugs and I couldn’t be happier. Stinkys has my 3 favorite bar features: good music that isn’t overpowering, drink specials, and sports on TV. The service is good to you if you’re good to them and there is enough space in the back if you have a big group. I’ve only had the food a couple of times and it was ok and reasonably priced. I go here for the beer. Cheap, delicious beer.

it’s great to see Sullivan’s is still a good watering hole. Mikie Squared was inexplicably packed at 10PM on Saturday night(usually it gets packed a little later), so I gave the order to TRANSFORMANDROLLOUT here. back half of the bar was empty, so our horde of 20-someodd people filled that vacuum comfortably. small selection of beers but what they have is mostly good. mixed drinks are kinda strong, and not too expensive. $ 5 and I hijacked the jukebox for an hour or so, to make it 80s rock/metal night. shots were $ 6, not bad at all… so we made sure the birthday boy had a good night.
