When it’s impossible to find an associate for help you have a problem. When you finally locate what you need on your own and get to the register to find no employees to ring you up then you have a bigger problem. When it takes five minutes for someone to show up from the back room to check out customers then you have a huge problem.
With such bad service here I can only assume that shrinkage (theft) is a huge problem. Not a good business model and not a good place to shop.

We called a head to have an item put on hold. When we arrived the item was waiting for us and the cashier gave us an in-store coupon on an item that was already on sale. Earlier in the day we’d purchased the same item at a different Office Max and the cashier made no mention of a coupon. I’m not a bargain hunter, but I appreciate employees who extend discounts when they’re available. As a former retail worker, I know the game is usually not to mention a discount unless the customer mentions it. IMHO, that’s not the way to create return customers.

I need to make monthly trips for office supplies. I stock up for a while. I always head over to this location. Even when I move away from this location, I will still frequent this location.
The staff here are very friendly and helpful fot it being a big box store. Several of them even know my name and they always greet me and go out of their way for me. They always seem to have what I ma looking for and I have never encountered something I needed being out of stock. It is a very rare occassion that I ever find the shelves messy.
I am also a member of their Max Perks program for businesses and they are constantly sending me coupons and discounts.

I love shopping for office supplies (yes, I am easily amused) and this is where I go to procure the majority of them. They have everything I need and then some. This particular store is always clean, almost to the point where one could eat off the floor. The only drawback is that the staff is not exactly the fastest. The last two times I went there, a price check was needed, and it took them about 15 minutes to get it done. But I will also say their copy and binding service is outstanding.
