Simply Stereo

These guys are ‘simply’ the best. I’m not a ‘high end’ audio guy; was just
looking for a good quality, moderately priced receiver. Lee pointed me
in the right direction and lined me up with a terrific Yamaha receiver at
a great price (yes, they WILL price-​match).
Even before I had committed to buy anything, Lee took the time to run
my speakers through a number of tests (speakers I thought were defective,
but proved not to be).
If you want to be treated with all the patience and respect that’s usually
reserved for millionaire audiophiles, don’t hesitate to shop Simply Stereo.
And be sure to speak with Ken-​a stereo veteran who really knows his stuff.

They are awesome. Been doing business with them way before Facebook and Unilocal even existed. They were the only place I could find that had a center channel for my Klipsch mains KLF-​20 beasts. But while I was there I feel in love with the sound of the bipolar Definitive Tech. I am more a movie guy so the Klipsch horns were always wonderful for the wide stage and enveloping sound. But if I ever upgrade, it will be to the Definitive Tech line. They always work on price and sometimes you can get a floor model for a great price. They are flexible to move around speakers and let you bring in your own demo material and are experts. Unlike the big box stores, these folks know, live, and breathe speakers and sound. I hope they stay around forever and certainly have been in the business a long time for a reason.
Like others mention, don’t let the outside of the place fool you. When I first visited, I was like what kind of place is this? Then I stepped inside and it was crowded but it was nirvana, they had all the cool stuff and I exited about 2 hours later — LOL.

One of the last true local stereo stores out there. Their customer service is exceptional… if it wasn’t, then they would have been out of business 10 years ago when everyone started buying audio equipment online.
I love the fact that they don’t hover! They are attentive but will leave you alone when you just want to be at one with your listening experience. The gentlemen there are very knowledgeable and willing to offer guidance when asked.
In addition, they are great at obtaining the correct replacement items that I have needed over the last several years.
Truly a great place to visit!

Beat another major Chicago retailer (with 3 letters) by 15% on a set of Klipsch speakers. I also bought my Klipsch Chorus II’s many years ago from these guys so they must be doing something right.

I love music, it is a part of my daily life. I have bought and sold many stereos over the years, but don’t consider myself an «audiophile»… I mostly buy mid priced stereo components.
I have seen this place for years, and decided to go in. The three listening rooms are big enough to hold several components and speakers.
Jason spent over an hour with me. Not being in the market for anything new, i took in his vast knowledge of the industry as an introduction into high quality audio.
When the time comes to upgrade my system, I would definitely go back.
It is obvious the mantra of the store is to work with customers to find the right «fit» for their room, music, movies, etc.
Other than the less-​than-​polished interior, and exterior, it is a pretty cool place.

I went here to upgrade my speakers from one Paradigm model to another. From the outside, this store looks very unassuming. But inside, you’ll find plenty of audiophile-​level equipment. Most importantly, they have great customer service and really know their stuff without being ostentatious. Highly recommended.

Best customer service i received in a very long time. Neil is extremely knowledgeable, patient and lets you take your time. No matter how many times i went back, every time they treated me with utmost respect and provided honest advise. They even let me take the whole 5.1 speaker system home to try out for a few days, at no charge. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for some nice speaker systems like Paradigm.
Update
I broke one of their demo speakers while taking out from the vehicle, at my home. They did not charge me anything for the damage, and immediately acknowledged it was their fault, as they did not pack it properly. Amazing customer service.
