Love coming here to escape. The entire staff is friendly and always upbeat. I’m really impressed with their determination to make sure you are learning, while still making sure you are having a great time.

So they totally gots me… I got the 1 time lesson from Groupon for $ 17 and ended up walking out paying $ 320 for 4 private dance lesson and 4 group lesson.
Our teacher was friendly and personable and we have a lot to learn so we’re hoping for 4 good dancing sessshhh!
If you don’t intend to pay for dance lessons, do not get bait on the groupon deal. Although they are nice and doesn’t apply pressure to buy, the 1 lesson will not add anything to your current skills.
If anything changes, I will most definitely update my review.

Been coming here for dance lessons for almost 4 years! Still love it, and it’s one of my favorite places to be. Amazing visiting coaches, great instructors, and very supportive environment. Perfect for social and competitive dancers!

FADS is a force to be reckoned with. Not only are you quickly absorbed into the supportive and spunky (and extremely silly) family, but you find yourself wanting to come back as much as you can. Getting involved and staying involved is easy and you’ll find that dancing is something you can’t live without. Everyone is exceptionally talented but also super humble; it’s amazing to be molded by professionals that make you feel like you’re a rising star. FADS offers classes and events every week so jump right in!

Have been going to FADS for the last few months, it’s been our escape from the daily and weekly grind. Our dancing has improved fantastically and its good exercise.
They schedule all kinds of dancing activities, parties, group sessions. I wish we could take advantage of all they have to offer. We really enjoy our sessions.

I went for a group dance class to try out a variety of dances that they teach here. the lesson was about an hour long with about 20 – 25 people in attendance. The staff made everyone feel very welcome and they had water and light snacks out as well. the host of the event had name tags to get to know the other people there, after all we were going to be dancing with people we didnt know, it is nice to know their names. We learned basic steps for the cha-​cha, salsa, a box step type dance (dont recall actual name), and we also did a group dance of the cha-​cha slide at the end of the class. It was very fun and welcoming. The instructors were great about walking about and helping with counts and assisting with forms. After the class the instructors talked about what group and private lessons are available and many people signed up. I would have as well to learn a little more but my next few weeks would not allow me to set something up, but they did have a variety of times and days available for people to schedule lessons.
The space was very open and welcoming and they even had a nice couch and sitting area to sit before or after the lesson, or to just watch others dance. It was a little hard to find this location as it is behind the bowling alley in the strip of stores. But there is plenty of parking back there once you go around and find it.

I honestly cannot say enough great things about this studio! From the moment I walked in the door, I was welcomed into the FADS family with open arms. The instructors are amazingly talented and some of the most genuine people I have ever met. Between calling me on my birthday, checking on me when I was ill and encouraging me to take more chances (in lessons and in life!), I cannot express in words how grateful I am for the wonderful staff at Fred Astaire South Barrington!
