What a beautiful and speedy printing job! I needed some invitations to be printed for an upcoming graduation party. I sent a sample of what I wanted along with the photo. Within less than 1 day I had a mock-up emailed to me of my invitation with the printing complete a day later. The designer was wonderful to work with and offered some of her own suggestions for personalizing and adding details to the invitation. I will be back in the future!

I contacted about 10 printing companies about printing white ink on dark purple paper for wedding invitations, and only 3 of them had the ability to do it for the small order that we had. Of those three, Minuteman’s prices were about 80% cheaper than the next cheapest printing company. Tony was the person corresponding with me and he was very helpful. I know little about printing terminology, but he was really good about explaining exactly what they needed from us, pricing breakdown, etc and we emailed back and forth several times. When it came time to get the invites printed, my friend who designed the invites and I went into the store. The woman helping us was very rude, condescending, and unhelpful — it was a completely different vibe than I had received from Tony. I don’t know if she was just having a bad day or what, but it really put us both off. We were looking to print a dark watermark on the purple paper and then use white ink on top of it. She told us that they wouldn’t be able to do the watermark because the paper was too dark and that they would have to set the press twice in order to do it. We suggested trying it on a laser printer instead of sending it to press to which she reluctantly did and it looked great! She then asked us how many we were having printed and told us that they wouldn’t be able to complete our order because it was too small and you need a certain amount of pages to be able to send it to the press. I told her that I was previously told I could do it and she dropped it right then and there. Lastly we asked about potentially doing a gradient on the background of the invite and if it was possible and she told us that it would look cheesy and that we shouldn’t do it. All in all I had a very negative experience while in the store. The invites were completed within a week and could have been completed faster if we had needed them, so I was pleased with that. However the white ink did not turn out very good on top of the paper. It looked more like a light purple color and was quite dull. I’m guessing that it is because of the darkness of paper that we used, but I asked several times if the ink would turn out well and was assured it would. It still looked nice but was hard to read if not in good light. Despite the fairly inexpensive quote, when I went to pay it ended up costing less than I was originally told which was nice. Overall, I had a really good experience working with Tony but did not like the service that I was given at the store, so this is a mixed review. I would recommend Minuteman for services other than printing white ink on dark paper, as I was pleased with the help prior to printing, the cost, and the speed of production.
