The Village Green Ampitheater is on the Sear Center property. It is essentially a band shell set in a park like setting. The area near the shell is tiered grass with multiple levels where people can set up chairs and tables. Picnics and alcohol are encouraged. The area outside of the immediate band shell is raised above the surrounding walls — there are areas shaded by trees and areas that are open to the sun. There is also a food stand where easy outdoor food like hot dogs are available. They also offer beer and wine. We brought our own, so I didn’t get to sample any of their offering. The night we went the Village of Hoffman Estates sponsored a free concert given by a Beatles cover band. While they were not the best cover band I’ve seen, the event was very well attended. I did not count, but would guess there were at least 300 to 400 people there. Most of the people there were old enough to remember the Beatles in their prime, but there were a few families that attended. People danced and sang along, and generally had a good time. I imagine that this is typical of what you would see there and plan to go again this summer.
