The Red House Academy

After weeks of searching for a preschool, we enrolled our daughter at The Red House in October. My primary goal was to find a program that has structure but also a philosophy of learning through active play.
Our daughter has been in home care, so I felt this was a good preschool to transition, a more structure setting, but small enough to not be overwhelming.
Their schedule and hours are flexible enough to work with my commute to/​from Boston daily that also was hugely important.
The Director, Ms. Ashita, has been lovely to deal with, her attitude and presence made me feel much more comfortable as a first time mom. Ms. Thelma is very engaging with the children, and seems to work well with them individually based on their personality and needs.
Red House thus far has been great, and we look forward to watching our daughter grow and learn new things.

My son has been enrolled at the Red House Academy since the beginning of the fall semester. To be honest I was a bit hesitant to enroll him because it’s a small school under new ownership; but now I think the small class room size attributed to the smooth transition from the home day care he attended to a proper preschool. He gets the personalized attention a toddler needs. One advantage I’ve noticed so far is the structure and consistency. The schedule and skills they are learning now (table manners, playing well with others, sharing) are great building blocks for kindergarten and beyond. His teacher, Ms. Thelma is great with the kids and spends time with me at the end of the day to let me know how my son’s day was. They now offer parent’s blog online with updated information and pictures. So far so good!
