I have been going here for years to get Halloween pumpkins with my kids. And every year, as I round the curve, I pray– pray– the farm is still there. It’s surrounded by mini-mansions and sports cars and obnoxious upper middle class folks who honk loudly as you slow down to turn into the farm, kind of like, ‘Humpf! Nobody goes THERE when you could turn HERE into the ‘White Plains’ gated community”… Well, the farm was still there this year and the kids and I could not have been more pleased– pleased as punch in fact. I bring cash and the farm provides fresh pumpkin patches for us to trample and also veggies, fruit, and baked goods to buy. We picked up loads of pumpkins– 15 in all– for $ 30 bucks. Then we boughta pples and a pie and the farmer’s wife gave the kids some Halloween candy and we waved goodbye. Hope to see you again soon and not another gated community from Hell.
