We stopped here while on vacation and picked up a handful of cupcakes for my daughters birthday. They were just ok. They looked nice, but the cake and the frosting did not compliment each other, so it just seemed like a bunch of frosting on top of a muffin. I had the vanilla cupcake with bavarian cream filling. I would say that the flavor probably matches the conservative nature of this town. Overall the service was good, the packaging was nice, and the store was nice and clean.

I started going to the Holland Cakery about a year ago and I will continue to use them for every special occasion! They cater to our every need and customize every cake exactly how we want it! Don’t let me forget to say that every cake always tastes fantastic! Disregard any negative reviews this place is great!

I am no longer a customer or fan of the Holland Cakery. I have ordered from them repeatedly before and had a mostly positive experience. However, today when I called in to order I was greeted and assisted by the rudest person I have ever encountered in my life. After I politely asked to order some cupcakes, she told me that they were too busy to help me. I told her that I have ordered the in past multiple times, in the hopes that she would want to retain my repeat business. She acted like she didn’t care, and just ended the phone conversation… I didn’t know the baking industry was so cutthroat… Long story short, there are too many great businesses that will appreciate your business. The Holland Cakery is not one of them!

The owner was so rude to us when we came in. She didn’t even crack a smile when greeting us. My husband and I recently moved to Metro Detroit. We were in town visiting family and friends and had heard a cupcake shop opened up. Which in Holland = big news! My husband and I mistakenly thought the shop had just opened so we asked the owner when did they open? She rudely replied«um, a year ago». We explained that we recently moved out of town. We just let her comments slide by mainly because she seemed annoyed. Anyways, we tried the cupcakes and they are subpar. Nothing special. No way near as good as the shops in Metro Detroit. Plus, almost $ 4 per cupcake, with no discounts for buying larger orders is ridiculous. «They are priced individually» the owner says. Never returning customers! May your future be that of the Westshore Mall. :P

Wasn’t anything special for the price. To be honest it wasn’t really even good. I had a vanilla with chocolate cream inside. And a friend of mine had the cookie lover. We both agreed, they were dry and lacking flavor.

We were hoping for baked goods for breakfast, but they don’t have those types of baked goods. They have cookies, cupcakes, and cakes. We tried half a dozen and they were delicious. We had the chocolate raspberry, caramel apple, pumpkin, almond, red velvet, and cappuccino. Our favorite was the chocolate raspberry. Cupcake prices vary as they have different sizes from mini, regular, and jumbo. This will be a good spot to pick up cakes for celebrations in the future or any sweet tooth fix or craving anytime.
