My auto dimming feature in my mirror failed and i asked the dealer how much a new mirror was… to my surprise, almost $ 600! Ok, that’s not gonna work. I also read that if the mirror begins to leak the auto dimming fluid, it can burn the dash board so it is something that once fails, should be replaced. So i did some searching and came up with Sybesma Electronics whereby you could send the mirror to them for $ 95, including shipping back to you, and they would fix it. Sent the mirror to them(Stacy) on a Monday and rec’d back the following Monday in perfect condition. They should advertise this service given the money you save. Efficient, effective and they have a very happy customer. btw, if you need to easily remove your mirror without asking the dealer, go to youtube and search for mirror removal for your car… it was pretty easy(easier than i thought).

Symbesma’s Electronics has long been known in the BMW enthusiast community for their commitment to and ability for refurbishing damaged electro-chromatic(auto-dimming) mirrors. These seem to fail after some years of use and the OEM replacement part costs anywhere from $ 500 — $ 1000. For under $ 100, Symbesma’s expertly repaired my mirror and was able to get it done in about one day. I wish all of the vendors I dealt with were so good to their customers!
