I stopped in again today hoping that they had improved on their previous short comings. Where I can say they did real good was the lady that served me was very friendly. I find myself wanting to give 2 stars just because the server was really nice, but it’s a restaurant and the food is the most important aspect. So based on the fact that the tongue in my tongue tacos was very undercooked and had the consistency of grisle and the flavorless rice I have to give a one star rating which is what they deserve nowadays. After 3 visits and 3 failures it’s time for me to move on and accept that for my taste preferences they fall very short. I wish them well, but I won’t be back.

Local place with great food /fast service. I won’t say the service is great, but for the lunch hour, it’s quick which is a plus. I have not ventured outside of the steak/chicken/pork tacos — but they are terrific! Different salsa and warm crispy chips are a plus. For Holland, this place is a lunch time must.

WARNING worst food poisoning of my life from taco fiesta. Taco fiesta used to be my regular lunch/dinner restaurant until this happened. Both my guest and I experienced similar symptoms of food poisoning that continued to the next day. I reported this restaurant to health services and during my call they informed me of the multiple reports of food poisoning from other customers at this restaurant.

I was not impressed with this place at all! We walked in to order take out. I ordered a taco salad & my bf odered three steak tacos. We waited for our food to be made… and while we sat there… the place is completely nasty, dirty, grimey! Floors are filthy, food all over them & they look as if they haven’t cleaned them in a few years. The tables are just as gross… looks like someone did a half assed job cleaning them. Greasy & sticky! Well… we FINALLY got our food and came straight home. I opened the container that my «taco salad» was in & there were NOCHIPS! Instead, they put the chips in a grocery bag… ok no big deal ill just add them… the chips were STALE, no crunch, just nasty! My bfs tacos. he said he wanted EVERYTHING on them… I guess steak meat and some green stuff that kinda looked like spinach is everything. No cheese, tomatoes, nothing! NEVERAGAIN!

This is authentic Mexican food! The waitstaff is super nice and the pricing is quite reasonable! I suggest any of the tacos and order them Mexican style with cilantro and onions with corn shell. The tamales are the real deal. There is no alcohol here, so no Margarita to wash down the yummy food. It’s my favorite Mexican food in Holland!

No disrespect to those from Holland, but I’m thinking the disproportionate number of 4&5 stars for this place is a comparative statement to other Holland restaurants. I don’t expect to eat here again. I had the taco salad. The ground beef was pretty bland, which I assume is the same meat in their tacos. The meat was accompanied by shredded iceberg and some shredded cheese. That’s it. No jalapeño peppers, no black olives, no onions, no cilantro, no pico de gallo… just plain lettuce, cheese and hamburger meat. I think the chips were home made, evident by the amount of dark brown chips and non-dip-able size pieces(aka, crumbs). I believe the spicy tomato sauce was suppose to be the salsa sans a lot of the same ingredients missing in the taco salad(see list above). Sorry Holland, this ain’t authentic Mexican food. My friend from the mid west liked his enchilada. but then, he likes catchup on his tacos too. Oh, I failed to mention that other meats were an option on the salad for $ 1 more, except when I asked for al Pastor, they wanted $ 1.50 more(because al Pastor isn’t a meat? I thought it was… oh well). I passed.

First of I have to say that I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, this place looks old and dated from the outside and inside also. But the food is sooooo good!!! I’ve been to a lot of restaurants since I moved to MI and I’ve been telling myself that I will not eat out because of the service and the food just sucks everywhere. But this place totally changed my mind! I will def come back here more often. Great food great service and great price!

Need cheap and fast? This place is it. Went with my super picky mom on a Saturday night. Both had dinner, leftovers and desert for less than $ 13. Do not get the flan. Ick. Everything else was good. Not super busy.

Food was kind of bland. I got a couple pastor tacos… they had some strange oily red juice that looked like someone tried to dissolve a lot of powdered material into it(salt… other spices?) I also got a steak taco that was OK. The beans I had were pretty boring. I think they just mashed up some black or maybe pinto beans and heated/plated them without much other effort put into. Not bad… just no passion. No verve. Yawn. I guess it could be worse, being a couple few thousand kilometers from Mexico and all.

I will update this to mention that the steak tacos are really small, and VERY greasy. It will run down your arm while eating! My friend says the chicken flautas are great.

I have been a Taco Fiesta fan for years. Lupita is always on her game and knows exactly what I want — regular salsa AND a portion of the extra hot normally not served. Tacos al Pastor with rice and beans. Delicious!

Festive semi-autenti mexi-shack. Food was good, not great if you’re used to the true Mexican street food to be found in finer cities. Steak Tacos have flavor enough. Burritos are beefy cheesy bean slop decency. I would go back in a bind or a bender. Bro had a a nice time with the sope. Sis made us all jealous with a «mini» burrito that was not at all mini. I’d go back just to see the size of the large. The waitress wasn’t Mexican which is always an immediate turn-off. The salsa is unlike anything I’ve had, that is just to say, different. Textured more like a cold saucy condiment or thick spicy catsup than a traditional salsa, but it made up for the lacking flavor in all the meats. I dislike how they make it so obvious that if you come in after 3pm, or on a weekend, they charge you the«dinner price.» Typically this is fine, as dinner portions are larger so, the 2 $ more per plate is understandable. I asked anyway because we were in midday Saturday, thought we could pull a lunch price. «Nope,» and when I asked about the difference, our Caucasian waitress said there is none, it’s just more expensive. Does anyone else think this is absurd? Lastly, there is a large portion of the menu with the heading«American friendly food.» Need I say anything. Don’t come here expecting authentic. Actually, just don’t come here. Sorry, but I eat Mexican food in chicago very frequently that is far tastier and doesn’t feel like a rip off. This Holland, MI Mexican fare leaves me longing for home.

Apparently, in the not so distant past, Taco Fiesta had an interior upgrade. New booths and tables as well as a welcome change of paint from white and various pastels to a darker brown reminiscent of Adobe. The specials had changed from a mishmash of menu items to new variations that include fish tacos and cactus in red sauce with shrimp. The fish tacos(Tilapia with cabbage, black beans, onions, a squeeze of lime on a corn or flour tortilla) were filling and delicious if a bit lacking in spices which was easily remedied with application of salsa provided with the chips. Two good sized tacos w/rice & beans and all you can eat chips & salsa for $ 5.99. Lunch service was extremely quick, pleasant, & efficient as always making a sit down meal faster that running out to a sub joint for a similar price and eating it at work in front of the computer. Great tweaks to a solid local restaurant.

Ok so my last Tex-Mex visit to Holland was not so good. I decided to give it another try and based on Sean’s recommendation I tried Taco Fiesta. First the negatives: service… not so good. I sat for a long time before the server greeted me and offered a beverage. The wait for my order was long and they tried to give me someone else’s meal in the meantime. When I did get my food it was not what I ordered.(By then I would have eaten the table) Now the good: The food was awesome!!!

One of my favorite Mexican Restaurants in Holland. The Milanesa is my favorite. The owners are awesome people who really give back to the community! Prices are awesome! As my wife and I go there quite often, the staff caters to our preferences without our having to ask!
