Horrible customer service! These people are rude, and play favoritism with certain customers. I came here as a new customer to their new location on 218 – 18 hillside avenue. They don’t take appointments because I called before arriving. I was third to arrive but got seen after two ladies that arrived after me. I asked one of the employees why the boss of the salon did that, and she replied that she always does that because she has her favorite customers. I was hoping for a relaxing experience as I usually have at blue nails. The nail salon is my happy place. But this place is far from happy!

Seriously Ive been going off & on to this salon for like 1.5 years and while most of the time they are great, today I called to simply get a soak off done. The lady asked me if i had gotten my nails done from them. I told her no and she said sorry we do not take off nails from other salons to go back to where I did them at. They use to but not anymore I guess. Well, where I done them at was out of state. That’s okay, there are PLENTY more salons in the neighborhood. Model Nails: you lost a valued customer. Your loss not mine. I will also let my friends & family members who routinely go there, to stop!

This salon is now on 217 and Hillside Ave. I’ve been going to this salon for a while. There’s only a couple of people that are good with doing nails. Today was the last time that I will ever set foot in there again. The owner, Josephine, is just so nasty and does not know how to customer service. I wanted a filling with a gel uv top coat and she said no don’t get it, get the gel polish for your nail filling. I instantly got annoyed because I know how I like my nails done. I said«no thanks because that’s too expensive». She starts talking about me to the new girl in their language. Which is completely rude. $ 35 for a gel filling! Anyways, another girl does my nails and she was giving me attitude also. I go to pay, and she says $ 18. It’s $ 15 for a regular acrylic filling. I instantly got annoyed and I’m like $ 18 for what?! She says because you have the pointy nails. And then she claims that Josephine told me that, meanwhile I’m 100% she didn’t. If that was the case I wouldn’t have even bothered to get my nails done. Then I wanted a design on two fingers and they were trying to charge me $ 5. I said forget it. Josephine is just rude. She tries to milk as much money out of you as possible, that’s how she was with me anyway. I was a loyal customer, but I will no longer be gong there. Josephine really needs to learn what it is to service her clients and not pass attitude when someone doesn’t want to get the expensive stuff. On top of that, they don’t even use good brand name nail polish anyway. I’m so disappointed for getting treated this way, but oh well. No longer will be going to Model Nails.

If you want great service and a great mani-pedi do not go to this nail salon. When I walked in I asked for a fill-in. As soon as I sat down the lady was telling me how I should get a new set, after I told her I had just received one last two weeks ago. I felt like she was trying to get extra money out of me. Next she starts talking In her native language for 15 minutes about me. On top of the disrespect after she swipe my debit card and it was approved she tells me she needs to write my drivers license number on a receipt. That was unheard of and I immediately said«no.» Then she tells me she needs to take a picture of my debit card number. I told her if she had a problem with me paying with my debit card that should of been stated somewhere in the salon. Needless to say, I left before my nails were polished and will never step foot in that salon. On top of everything else they have cheap nail polish, no Essie or Opai.

Nails are my thing. Even when the sweats, t shirt, head wrap and no jewelry is in full effect. I have been going here for awhile and continued going here even after they’ve moved to 218 – 18 Hillside. I figured after 4 years of patronage I was a valued customer of sorts but I guess not. I went here 4÷24÷14 to get my nails done to attend my brother in laws wedding. I got a simple french done and it looked fine. Until I got outside. I realized that Michelle did not completely remove my original polish which was a mood changing polish so you could only see the color in the cold. I was upset but I didn’t get mad because you could only see it in the cold so it wasn’t purposely undone. I went back the next day even though I was super short on time which was why I had it done the previous day. I called her while at work she said come in. I did straight after work and waited 57 damned minutes too smh. Here’s when I get pissed off. I ask the owner Josephine how long she kept saying oh not too long just wait were very busy I’m so sorry. I go outside to rant to my man because now I’m just angry like seriously, you mess my nails up and I have to wait!!! So she sends a girl out front to let me know Michelle is finally ready. She starts and she’s rushing now I’m more upset because now I’m being rushed due to your lack of proper care? WTH. Then it happened. She cut me with that damned nail machine with the gold barrel tip and I bled so bad I hopped up washed it and went straight to Josephine demanding my nails to be done by her. She refused and gave me another girl who did my nails quickly but accurately and carefully. I got home and what do you know? The uv gel peeled right off!!! I WILLNEVEREVEREVERGOHEREAGAIN! That was truly the nail experience from HELL!!!
