Blue Ribbon Carpets

For Christmas I received new blinds! I was very excited when my love took me to choose the style and color. Mary and Ed are fantastic, quick to serve and true to their word. I had a great experience with them. Did I mention how patient they are and how the price was RIGHT… (-: I highly recommend them for carpeting and blinds/​shutters. When it’s time to buy carpet, they will surely get my business! Thank you Ed and Mary

Mary and Ed put up with my million questions about technical information. I took sample carpet boards home several times for several days. Mary ordered a half dozen samples of different types and colors. Ed came to measure and we discussed install at length. Again my million questions did not hamper his attitude. I realize I’m not a typical customer, and may be considered a pain in the a$$. But I did not want to be sorry by being rushed and choosing the wrong carpet for my whole house.
I took over a month for me to decide. They were patient ever step of the way. You won’t be sorry working with Blue Ribbon.

It’s hard to review a shop that didn’t even provide our new flooring, but that’s why I’m posting my experience. I was recommended to this store by my best friend, she had had great experiences dealing with Mary, the owner, and especially Dennis, the installer. We wanted to replace all flooring in our house, including our staircase with laminate flooring, so we had one solid surface throughout.
I went to the store and grabbed some samples from Mary. She couldn’t have been more lovely. She was very knowledgable and helpful. After we decided which flooring we liked, we set an appointment to have Ed (Mary’s husband) come out to measure the house on a Saturday morning. At 9:00 that day, we received a call from Mary needing to cancel our appointment because Ed wasn’t doing well with an injury he had sustained a couple of weeks prior. No problem. We totally understood. We waited and waited for them to call back to reschedule, but they never did. We called about a week later, as we were on a time schedule to get this done while my husband was on vacation. Again we scheduled for Ed to come out at 11:00AM to measure. At 8:30 that morning, I got a call from Ed asking if he could come at 9:00 — 9:30. Sure, no problem. He arrived and talked about the flooring with my husband, giving him information that made no sense, for at least 30 minutes. He tried to talk us out of placing the laminate on our stairs (which was a huge part of why we wanted to replace the flooring). He said we would need to order «quarter round» strips to go all around our cabinets (and all of the sides of the stairs), rather than using a board cut to serve as a kick-​plate. He spent about 10 minutes measuring our downstairs and had to quit, because he was «just too overwhelmed» in measuring. He said he usually takes care of Quick Books back at the office, as Mary is the one who knows flooring. He also comes out to do measurements, but was feeling «totally overwhelmed» because «Mary didn’t tell me it was a two-​story». He would have to get his installer, Dennis, to come back out here to measure with him.
We waited for another call to reschedule, but it never came. My husband did a rough measuring job and had it completed in about 15 minutes. We finally called and scheduled another appointment to get the house measured by them, so that we could hurry and get the materials ordered. This time, Ed brought Dennis, who my husband really liked. Dennis gave my husband information my husband knew to be true about installing laminate on stairs (which contradicted what Ed told us). He seemed MUCH more knowledgable about what we needed. They left our house and we waited and waited for an estimate. It also never came. My husband called them again and finally got the estimate from Mary. He was happy with the quote and we wanted to order, but by then, they couldn’t get the materials in time for us to do the work during the holiday vacation.
I have never had so much trouble with trying to spend several thousands of dollars. I wish they would have told us that they didn’t want our business, as we could have ordered from another company that DID have the product in stock. Maybe they don’t like providing the products when they’re not doing the installation? We have since ordered from a company we found online, who will have it to us in 7 – 10 business days. My husband will now have to install it on the weekends and in the evenings. It would have been great if we could have done it during his 2+ week vacation.
Bottom line, we liked Mary and Dennis. But Ed should have nothing to do with that business. While he may be a nice man, he is a HORRIBLE representative for the company. I wish I had better things to say, as we really do like to support our local businesses. But not when it’s this difficult. Sorry Mary…

Really nice people to deal with. They are helpful, kind and patient. They went way out of their way to help me with a problem I was having with some shutters I had gotten free on Craigslist. Even though they spent a good deal of time helping me solve my problem, they didn’t charge me a dime. When I’m ready to purchase new flooring, I’ll be buying from them.

I ordered my laminate flooring from here, and it arrived the day after order. I was by myself, so they loaded it all into my car for me. The man said «I know you are unloading by yourself, so have a seat and I will do this for you». The laminate was great quality and easy to install. The customer service was great! They also have carpet and blinds here too, I will be back when I am ready for other areas in my house.
