I’ve been training here for over 3 years, having switched from another local martial arts studio(that has since gone out of business). KJN Mark Preader is the most respectful and patient martial arts instructor that I have known. Very giving of his time, talents and skills. Owning a Martial Arts Studio is a labor of love — one does not do it for the money! We love the family atmosphere, weekend events & team building. Great for kids with self-esteem or confidence issues, or mild learning disabilities.

I trained with KJN Mark Praeder for many years in the 1990s. His level of commitment and passion for all styles of Martial Arts far exceeded anyone else’s I have ever trained with in my 18 years of practicing. We recently had a reunion training session and it’s amazing to see first hand how KJN Praeder’s passion burns even brighter today than it did nearly 20 years ago. He is one of the few true Martial Artists I know. Outside of his Martial Arts skills, his personal character is simply humbling. KJN Praeder is one of the people I look at and say«I should be more like him.»

I have known West Coast Martial Arts Hollister owner and master instructor Mark Preader for many years and would encourage anyone in the Hollister area looking for the best martial arts school to check out this one. Whether you are an adult looking to train or are looking for a school for your children, West Coast Martial Arts in Hollister is truly the best of the best.

They are good with kids. Good Karate instructors, but I think that their pricing structure is very deceptive. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the price that you start out in th beginning is the price that you will be paying a few months later. After your child has been in the program after a couple of months, your child will want to move to the next class and it is quite a bit more expensive.(Your child will want to move on because the basic class mainly teaches the same thing over and over). It is the traditional«bait and switch».

I checked out all of the Karate places in Hollister and made the decision to enroll in West Coast. My Grandson(four years old) was so timid in the beginning he would not even get on the mat. Mark talked to him and showed him it was okay. Now 3 months later he is an XPT lil dragon and you can not get him off the mat. The Teachers are awesome, they teach focus(which is very hard for a 4 yr old) discipilne and respect and the kids have fun, Thank you Mark and Mr. Fort for making my grandson have great self esteem and able to show his moves in front of everyone. You rock
