After living in Hollister for the past 4 years, I finally decided to eat here. The food is OK, but the prices are terrible, and it’s only going to get worst. I paid almost $ 9 for a spicy chicken meal, and i didn’t even get a full order of the fries, they skimped on the portion. I asked why the prices were so high, and the employee told me because everyone got a raise due to the minimum wage hike. If you thought $ 9 was high, wait until the minimum wage does hit $ 15.

Ordered a burger at the drive thru a few days ago, with no sauce on it. When I had gotten home the burger bag was filled with sauce… it was all over everything. The only reason I am giving two stars is because the staff was so friendly in fixing the problem when I came back. Probably won’t be back for a while. This happens frequently.

I remember when it was a treat to stop at a fosters good old chocolate milkshake. Decided to do that today in Hollister. The young lady at the counter was nice but I was blown away on the total I paid. So I thought it’s ok it’s fosters but I received half cooked onion rings a cold burger. I asked them to recook and they did by popping the food in the microwave well fosters of Hollister I say I will keep my childhood memory of long ago but your place was a night mare.

Came here twice and both times, I got wet burgers. I spent $ 10 for wet burgers … Plus, the employees are rude. I highly suggest you make a run to McDonald’s.

Ok I used to come here all the time but then I had to go on a diet so now I get locales go but it’s really super good. Then I found out there’s no locales them here so instead of eating like two hamburgers and six tacos and fries and a milkshake and I just get like one thing you know just occurred until I go home and eat a big salad the girl here is so cool. She’s only been here 2 months but it’s like she’s been here forever plus I like her scratchy cool voice

I’ve been here a handful of times and have been disappointed consistently. Their burgers are cold and nasty, yet their fries are decently hot(warm enough to eat, but not hot enough to enjoy). Somehow every time I order a twister from them they always get it wrong, they’re never mixed properly, and there was one incident where they didn’t even put ice cream in my twister… I’m not even sure what it was, but it was foamy and didn’t even freeze. Bottom line is that they have nasty food.

I just bought a chili cheese dog. It was gross. Seven eleven is better. There french fries taste just like the ones at school as a child. There burgers are good. Service can be better.

OK I believe the ice cream is better than br31. I love the twisters they pack it with candy. Also the dipped cones are a must.

My boys and I frequently come here for dessert. They have great milkshakes. The dipped cone is great. And their worms n dirt is yummy. And, when in the drive through they offer milkbones to our dog. Pretty cool!

When I was a kid, going to Foster’s was a real treat. They made the best shakes, using scooped ice cream and milk. Of course, scooped ice cream shakes have gone the way of the dodo bird. Now, shakes are made from soft serve ice cream out of the machine and milk. No thanks. And especially not for 5 bucks. I moved to Hollister about 8 years ago and found that there’s a Fosters. The one thing that I will order here is a simple, chocolate, soft serve ice cream on a regular cone. There’re not as good as they used to be. More cold than chocolately. What I’ve figured out is that the Hollister location has no food safety standards. I believe they’re soft serve machine isn’t cleaned very often. I’ve gotten sick following visits(including consecutive weekends) from what I suspect is ecoli. I stopped going there for a while. I recently tried it again a few times, but found that the cashiers kept touching my cone after handling money. That is a cardinal sin in the food business. I’m pretty sure that the ‘floater’ is supposed to make and hand the cones to the customers in the lobby and the drive-thru, directly, to avoid this very issue. Seems that the point hasn’t been made during training. I will no longer go to Foster’s. Bad product and no standards.

I have eaten here many times and I generally enjoy the food. Their soft-serve cones are really good. The hamburgers are generally good too, however, I did get an undercooked hamburger once. The prices are definitely on the expensive side for what you get. In addition to high prices, they have recently decided to be stingy and charge you for those tiny containers of sauce that you can get to go with some things. You can’t even get a tiny container of ranch to go with your onion rings now without paying extra for that. I’m not pleased by this. Then, there’s this… I have pretty much stopped eating at Foster’s Freeze due to what I consider some pretty dishonest business practices. You may not have read the small print(the very tiny sign in the drive up window), but there is a minimum charge of $ 5 for credit and, if you use your debit card, you are charged a fee of $ 1.50. I don’t appreciate either the minimum for credit or the fee for using debit. I also don’t appreciate the tiny sign that tells you this – lots of people miss it, I’m sure. BUT, what really bothers me is that it seems like there are a few employees(one girl, in particular) who try to trick you into using debit. When you drive up and hand her your card, she asks, «Is debit okay?» UMM… NO, IT’S NOTOKAYWITHMETHAT I AMBUYING $ 20WORTHOFFOODANDYOUARETRYINGTOTRICKMEINTOUSINGMYDEBITCARDSOYOUCANCHARGEMEANOTHER $ 1.50. I don’t mind when I’m asked if I would like to use«debit OR credit.» But, asking, «is debit okay» is just NOT okay when there’s going to be a fee for that. I’ll bet that most folks do NOT see the tiny sign with the tiny print saying there is a fee for debit and I’ll bet that a ton of people are getting charged that fee unnecessarily and that they would say NO if they knew there was going to be a fee.

It has been a long time since I have had Fosters. I ordered the grilled chicken. It was hot and juicy. Chicken was cooked perfect. And finished the meal off with a thick vanilla shake. Still great after all these years

Just went here the other day and the service and food was phenomenal! The cooks, cashiers and everyone are very friendly and provided great customer service. Whether I go inside or in the drive thru, the staff is always smiling and ready to fix a mistake in an order if needed(which is rare since they make their product to perfection!). The prices may be higher than most places with fast food but this food is quality food and not fake and plastic tasting like McDonalds or Burger King. I always recommend to my family and friends to eat at this fine establishment! Keep up the good work guys!

I love Foster’s Freeze, like, I really love it. The grilled cheese is SO good(Friday’s are $ 1 grilled cheese days!!). The fries are always really crispy and fresh, too. I haven’t had them in a while, but the ice cream cones and sundaes used to be super delicious as well. The staff is friendly but not overly-so. I like eating inside because the décor is actually kind of comfortable for a fast food joint. It gets packed with high schoolers after school on weekdays, though. Only downside is it’s kind of pricey. Definitely one of the more expensive drive-thru’s in town.

I based this on the deal. Cant beat $ 1 cones from Foster Freeze. Gave it four stars because the cones were a little messy. But who can pass up such a good deal

My daughter is recovering from a brain injury. She recently visited Foster Freeze with friends. As she went to the counter to get her food one of the employees made fun of her trembling hands(from the brain injury), right in front of her. Unacceptable. Our family will not eat there again.

Not a frequent customer of this restaurant, but whenever I do eat here, the place is never really busy and has only few customers at a time. This was true of my most recent visit today(1−9−13). The service today went fine. Definitely want to go every so often as the food selection is good.

My first experience with this place was bad. Ordered the chicken sandwich with cheese and was SHOCKED at how much the meal was! I handed the girl my money and she handed me my bag of food. I got back home to dig in after a long day of moving. Apparently«chicken sandwich with cheese» is Foster Freeze code for plain burger and wrong frys. I did not bother to go back because I was starving and home already. Burger was really dry. So not to let one visit with an auditorilly challenged individual make up my mind(well that and the fact that the picture of the chicken looked really good). I went back and this time I got my chicken sandwich with cheese WOOHOO. I proceeded home with my hunt in the bag filling the car with wonderful smells. First bite… Dry… Second bite… Dryer… ended up going to the kitchen to doctor the sandwich. This place should stick to ice cream, because they obviously do not know how to cook(or listen).

Over the Christmas holiday, after a shopping trip to Target(Hollister doesn’t have a Wal Mart) I wanted a little snack before heading to Safeway with my Mom. We decided we would go to Foster’s Freeze. We ordered the ‘Lil Foster burger’ and a drink. The burger was juicy, hot, and fantastic! I was craving more but opted out because Mom was planning on cooking dinner later. If you ever go to or through Hollister, stop by Fosters Freeze and grab a few ‘Lil Foster burgers.’ You won’t be disappointed. Add tomatoes for an extra kick. Enjoy.
