GREAT cheesesteaks! Makes me feel like I’m on South Street in Philly. A must try eatery in Holly Springs.

If you want a regular hoagie like a Italian go some where else. Uninspiring hoagie. No lettuce or tomatoes. Diced onions on a hoagie? Plain sub roll nothing special. I didn’t get any Italian seasonings? Asked for no oil, my stomach just can’t handle pure oil. Asked for Mayo barely any was put on. I had to put some mustard on because it was so dry. Nothing special about the meats they aren’t boars head. But than It didn’t take long to get my hoagie. Will not be coming back to get an Italian hoagie. Guess I should have gotten a Philly cheese steak my fault?

I’m from New Jersey, so I know a good Philly cheeses take when I see one. Second time here, it’s been about a year and a half since my first visit. I ordered a cheesesteak. The board said lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The guy asked what I wanted on it, so I had to repeat what I wanted a few times, as well as fried onions a few more times. I got home, not even a 5 min drive, bread was soggy and not 12″… also wasn’t full of meat. I’m used to lots and lots of meat; this didn’t even fill it up to the ends. Taste was good, but not worth $ 10. Disappointing.

Food is hit or miss these days. Sometimes excellent, other times not so much. The smell of oil burning seems to always be present now and it just make it less appetizing. Flips(chips) used to always be hot and fresh, now they seem to be prepared ahead of time. Today my steak was a little over cooked and the bread wasn’t as fresh.

Been here a few times and each time I keep telling myself I will never come back, but my wife likes the place because they offer whiz for the sandwiches. This recent time, today, finally was the straw that broke the camels back… I am done with this place… Just wasted 20 minutes of my life today at noon because the 2 people working there couldn’t figure out how to use the credit card machine… Placed my order and they couldn’t figure anything out. Didn’t offer me a drink or anything for wasting all this time. Eventually I told them to forget it and just left. Extremely disappointing, and I should have realized there was a problem when no one was there at noon. On top of that. QVC on the TV… Really!!!

This place has new owners, and that isn’t necessarily a good thing. Tonight they were out of every single chip, except for hot and spicy kinds. Not really appropriate to go with a kids meal. The soda machine was also out of Cheerwine and root beer. The worst thing though was the fries. OMG the fries. Very overbooked and CAKED in salt! Three meals worth of fries went into the trash. This place has taken a step back for sure!

Food is good. Service is terrible. The past 2 times we’ve visited the employees looked like we were imposing on them by being there, wanting to order and eat. And when I noticed the ketchup bottle on our table was empty, I went in search of another. All but one table in the entire restaurant had a ketchup bottle that wasn’t flat empty. Plus, on another occasion, we came in 30 minutes before close, and the chairs were already up on the tables! We had no choice but to order to go! The food is good but for us, we can find another cheese steak place with better customer service.

Not that good, really slow. They need to step it up very quickly, people will not be back. Sorry.

The food tastes good and the service is usually pretty good. The prices & addons though… different story. WAYOVERPRICED. VERY skimpy addons such as cheese or bacon, even though it costs about $ 2 for them. That’s plain ridiculous…

Fabulously P.H.A.T. Philly! Mmmm I was craving buffalo wing sauce the other day and I was starving, so I tried their Large Buffalo Chicken, and an order of their Flips(sinfully tasty homemade potato chips). WOW! It was so delicious… and HUGE! I ate it all and was so, so soooo satisfied. The flips were awesome! They were pipin’ hot right out of the fryer. Homemade chips are at least 10x better than the store variety. If you’re in or near Holly Springs and you have a Philly cheesesteak(or buffalo wing sauce) craving, then make your way to Fat Philly’s. Enjoy! My large Buffalo Chicken:

Authentic cheesesteak with wiz… Yes please! Between the cheesesteak and the homemade chips, this place is right up my alley! Nothing fancy, but its not intended to be. Just good food and friendly service.

This use to be my go to place for a delicious Philly. I am confused about what happened in the past 6 months(management, staff or a combination of both) They are pretty dead whenever I visit but that never steered me from indulging in the goodness of a delicious Philly. Lately that has not been the case. They did not honor my punch card for a free sub. I also placed my order and while I waited I picked up their little advertising papers to read and what do you know a coupon for $ 2 off what I just ordered. I politely asked the cashier for a price adjustment and was blatantly told«no» but I could use it on my next visit. Really? Not my idea of good business practice. My Philly had no seasoning and my flips were burnt! Unsure how that’s possible when there was only one other customer present. Get it together soon or I’m afraid you won’t stay in business much longer.

This place isn’t what it used to be. Not only is it expensive, but the steak was flavorless, and I had to wonder why they yelled out«coupon» when I placed my order and used a Citipass coupon. Employees used to be friendly, but not so much anymore. Fries were good, as usual. Also, they have odd hours – once my husband went 15 minutes before they closed on a Sunday(they close at 3pm on Sundays– why even open?) and they locked the door on him and closed as he was walking up. Definitely not as impressed with this place as we once were.

We just tried to go for an early dinner and the man working not only didnt say hi to us when we greeted him but started cursing under his breath about us walking in. Then, he gradually got worse as he told us we needed to wait a couple minutes so he could use the bathroom as he said he had to go number 2, pointed to the area. We were definitely not going to stay and eat there after that and as we walked out, he locked the door behind us. He also stared at us in a hateful way. I can definitely say we will never be there again. just a shame they hired this tattooed up jerk to represent there business.

Looking for a great cheese steak in Holly Springs? You’ve come to the right place. This is as close to Philadelphia as you can taste here in NC. I’ve been to both Gino’s and Pat’s, and I’d recommend Fat Philly’s. Atmosphere wise, this place has never been crowded when I go in. The service is always friendly to me, and while not«fast» it always seems worth the short wait for them to prepare the food. I don’t dig the jalapeños on a cheese steak(it’s weird to me), but that is a minor thing. All-in-all, I enjoy eating here. Price-wise I think it is a little on the expensive side, but I keep coming back for the deliciousness.

I was told that this was the place to get a Philly Cheesesteak — WRONG — {in so many ways} 1 — do not honor coupons purchased 2 — get the order wrong(the place was dead} 3 — attitude 4 — gave us the wrong order because noone there is going to eat it and they would just throw it away. 5 — maybe go back {when Tony} who ever he is but referenced by the cashier honors his coupons.

An update to my initial review: the homemade potato chips are called«Flips», not hubs(I guess I misunderstood the verbiage of my companion). This go-around, the take-out order consisted of: 1. Ultimate steak Philly provolone w/flips 2. Classic steak Philly provolone w/fries The Philly steaks were great and the only issue with this order was that the flips weren’t included, instead there was a double order of fries.

One of only a few Triangle area shops that calls it a «Hoagie» and actually knows how to make it — right down to the Amoroso rolls! My wife and I having been searching for a real, honest to goodness Italian Hoagie and we were not disappointed! The Cheesesteaks looked great on the grill, and I will definitely try one the next time! The only reason I can’t give it a 5 star rating(yet) is because the Hoagies don’t come with Lettuce & Tomato(you can order it as a «topping») and they don’t carry Cherry Peppers — C’mon people, the Jalapeño is not the only hot pepper worth earting and really does not belong on an Italian Hoagie! I know those are minor points and this place has the closest thing to a real Italian Hoagie I’ve found in the Triangle, so don’t let my quest for Hoagie perfection put you off — Fat Philly’s is the real deal & the staff is FANTASTIC!

Very good cheesesteaks. Really like their homemade chips — that come with ranch or blue cheese — as well. I’ve been a couple times and being as it’s a ~7 minute drive this will be a take out staple. Also wouldn’t mind heading in and chasing back some of their sandwiches w/a beer for an eat-in experience, too. The regular sandwich is a good size for lunch but a little small for a dinner portion. Luckily it’s only about $ 2.50 to upgrade to a large, which is basically double the size of the regular. Regulars run around $ 7-$ 8, larges run $ 9-$ 10. They also have a daily special that’s written on a chalkboard when you walk in, if you’re doing take-out make sure to ask what that is. I always forget!
