Scarves and hats and costume jewelry and handbags and totes and more — French Flamingo is easily the accessory store it promotes itself to be. It’s fun. There’s enough to keep it explorable, but not so much as to be exhausting. The bright colored walls set off the displays, but at times compete with the costume jewelry. Fortunately, the larger items and the solid colored items are displayed on or near the walls, making it easier on the eye. The smaller items, jewelry for instance, would get lost against all that color. The product is mixed throughout the store, which requires a visitor to walk through the entire shop or risk missing the perfect thing in the exact color or style because it’s in the back or between the hats and bags. A few of the other customers stopped in to pick up a hat for a trip to the lake, or tote bag to haul the goodies from the nearby fair. I stopped in because the mini Eiffel Tower in the window caught my eye and I had to see it. The scarf I found was just an added bonus.
