This is a rather strange place. We made a huge mistake of not reading the prominently displayed menu prior to entering. Unfortunately, they get a little too«creative» with the ingredients, such that every item sounds excellent until you get to the third, fourth, or fifth word, at which point you are totally turned off. For the upscale design and high prices of the place, you wouldn’t want to ask for all of those oddities to be removed and be left with a plain burger or filet. Awkwardly enough, we decided there wasn’t anything that we could order with confidence and decided to leave the empty, but nicely designed and clean dining room. Our server took the news professionally. Despite this, we did have a round of drinks and I must say that the mojito was excellent.

So I have walked by this restaurant several times but never have eaten there, looks very elegant and expensive from the outside. The restaurant was gracious enough to contribute to a charity upon which I was the auction winner and therefore we had gift cards to use. Thankfully I had gift cards. Server — not sure of his name but he was attentive and actually too attentive, I was so happy when he finally got another 2 tables to handle so he would stop coming by the table to say how are things. Atmosphere — identity crisis — sports bar? restaurant? both? too many flat screens facing the main dining room to feel upscale. Food — the quickest ticket times I have seen — not a good experience for us, we were planning on a nice night out and they got us out of there is 1 hour and 10 minutes soup to nuts. Wedge Salad — this appeared very small and frankly weak — they need to keep these in a colder cooler. Calamari — this dish was tasty and felt worth it. Surf and Turf — when you pay 70 for a 10 ounce filet and trust me this filet is hardly a filet you would expect to pay 36 for. It felt like a step above Outback, maybe the place is not known for steak but the waiter strongly suggested it. I would not recommend spending your hard earned dollars on the steak. Lobster — overcooked and tough — again to pay that kind of money for mediocre food seems tough to handle. Cleanliness — frankly each plate looked dirty but not the standard dirty it felt like when you ran your finger over the plate it left a mark? maybe that is there washing detergent? Again not normal for a restaurant with these prices. So Management usually read these and say why did you not tell us this when you were at the restaurant and frankly they are correct we should. BUT i was out for a nice dinner with my wife and we just sucked it up to experience. My opinion and we all have one — think real hard about spending hard earned dollars at this location. Maybe they had a bad night, not sure.

Plenty of tables around. The hubby & I sat down near the bar and were told the kitche was backed up over an hour?! WHAT? That was a little crazy since it didn’t even appear to be that full. FAIL.

The good — Server was nice. Wonderful ambiance. Fabulous blue cheese dressing — made there. The reason for two stars — lots of overcooked seafood. The calamari was like a rubber chew toy. The shrimp and crab salad had TWO medium sized cocktail shrimp and about ¼ cup of crab on it. Skimpy. Salmon was like a brick. I would not eat here again given all the other good places in hard rock. They did mention a recent kitchen fire as an excuse for the overcooked food.

Our party of five got a table with no issues on a Saturday night. In fact, the restaurant wasn’t very crowded as whole. I got the Florida mahi-mahi with tempura rice cake and bok choy in sake butter. I enjoyed the bok choy and tempura rice cake immensely… the rice cake was literally a patty formed of rice, dipped in tempura batter and deep fried. The rice had a flavor to it, like sushi rice. Nice touch. The mahi-mahi was a touch salty and a bit tough… but that could be the nature of the fish, I guess? I still ate every last bite. I also sampled some of the ahi tuna entrée. Cooked perfectly rare. One of the girls ordered a steak medium rare and it came to her rare… our server was very good about getting the steak done right and was very apologetic.

I was thinking of somewhere different to go with my husband and i had a living social coupon. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly. The view is calming and the food is delicious. We started off the appetizer with coconut shrimp which were very flavorful. For entrée, i had the mahi mahi with sake butter(fresh and scrumptious) with the tempura rice cake and my husband had the rosemary chicken(overpowering flavor) with mash potatoes. The portions are decent for the prices. The service was great definitely will want to go back again if im in the Hard Rock area.

I’ve been here a couple of times and I’ll sit at the bar. I love the high definition TVs they have right above the bar. Plus, the folks here always have the most compelling sporting events on, which shows they’re in tune from that standpoint. I’m an afternoon guy, and so the bar is typically wide open. Good bartenders, good drinks, and a relaxing, classy atmosphere. I haven’t eaten here yet, but the menu look diverse and appetizing. Plus, I haven’t been here at night. I find this place the most accessible at the Hard Rock. I’m looking forward to returning and trying some of the food.

First things first: If your management makes a deal with Groupon, Living Social or any of the other online deal makers honor the damn thing with no commentary. Getting really sick of going to an establishment and having a waiter say«I guess we have to honor this». No Crap you do!!! This was our 3rd time here, really like the food and atmosphere but we got stuck with a waiter(Corey) who was more interested in making sure everything was perfect for the 4-top he had next to us and pretty much ignored me and my wife, didn’t really enjoy finishing my meal with no water. Anyways, go for the fish tacos, ambiance and hope you get a decent server.

What a wonderful meal! We were pleasantly surprised to get free appetizers for checking in here and they were great! The dinners were even better. I expected to pay a lot for dinner tonight but it was reasonable and the food was superb! The servers were pleasant and the overall experience was great!

On a busy Saturday night this place looked very chilled and relaxed which is why me and my bf picked here for my birthday dinner while celebrating at the Hard Rock Casino. Firstly the seated us in what must have been the worst booth in the whole place. We were next to a service station and the back Of the bar. I felt like we were in a box, and sad we didn’t get to see any of the view that I could see when I stood up and peaked over the booth. The waitress was mediocre and not very enthusiatic, it was late I guess so I’ll give her some slack. They had no cocktail specials which I thought was weird just $ 3 draughts. We decided to skip appetizers for the sake of time and just order entres. I chose the Mahi Mahi that was $ 24 and my bf chose the fish and chips. It took a longggg time for that food to come, maybe 45min? It’s not like they were busy or anything. My bf’s fish and chips was pretty small and it came with a ketchup and mayo on the side, he had to ask for a slice of lemon which is a bit ridiculous. My Mahi was laid over a fried ball of rice and bok choy, the Mahi was cooked perfectly, it had a sneer of a teriyaki sauce on it which I was worried about at first but it really tasted good. As for the rice it was honestly repulsive, I don’t know what the chef was thinking with that, did he taste it? So yuck. It was sat in a creamy sauce that was swirled with the teriyaki which was another faux par. All I can say is thank god my Mahi was suspended on that rice ball because I ate it without being interrupted by those other awful flavors. In conclusion — great fish, not worth the $ 24 though. We didn’t get water refills but my bf got 2 of the $ 3 draughts. Not brilliant service, but overall not a great experience. Probably won’t be going back, especially when there are so many other restaurants right next door.

Disappointed. We decided to eat here because they were open late night. We got there at 11:30pm. The restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered the ahi tuna rare appetizer and the prime rib. After 30mins the waitress comes to us and says the appetizer will be served with the steak. We asked why would a rare fresh tuna take so long? and she explained it was frozen. Who wants to eat«fresh frozen tuna»? After hearing that we did not want to try the prime rib. They comped our beer and we left. Beware of there NONFRESHTUNA!

Great surprise lunch on a recent day trp to the area. Decided to check out the Hard Rock complex because I had never been there. Popped into a quiet Blue Point for lunch and ordered the Ahi appetizer and a salad for myself and mom. I had the Pecans & Pears Salad and mom had the Chop Chop salad. Both included large portions of greens which was exactly what we were looking for. The Ahi appetizer was appropriately cooked and well seasoned. Pleasant service and a nice meal. What more could you ask for? Enjoy!

Though not the best seafood in town it was still pretty good, especially for how late they stay open. We were able to dine after a concert, after 11pm. It still ranks high on my charts compared to the other culinary establishments the Hard Rock has to offer. The service was friendly; though a little slow for a weeknight. The calamari was subpar but the lobster tail definitely made up for it!

The Bluepoint Ocean Grill is among the many restaurants in the outside mall attached to the Hollywood Hard Rock Seminole Hotel and Casino. My husband and I chose the coconut shrimp as our free appetizer(offer good up to $ 14) through the restaurant offer on Unilocal. It was served with mango chutney in a coconut cream sauce-was to die for! For our entrees we chose the crab cake appetizer with remoulade sauce and the French dip sandwich. The french fries were super hot and had a really nice light seasoning-best fries I’ve had in some time! We sat inside but next time would definitely chose to sit outside overlooking the lake.

Ordered the mahi mahi blackened… Very salty. The chowder I like. The salad with crab and shrimp was nothing special. Took a while to get entrees. Service was slow even to get the bill. Overpriced.

After skimming through some of the reviews of most of the restaurants at Seminole Hard Rock, it was pretty tough to choose a restaurant because not many people had spectacular things to say about them. We decide to come to Blue point because the menu had a wide variety of dishes that could accomodate the different preferences of everyone in our party. Let me just say we ahd a GREAT time. Most of the food was delicious and the service was good too!(We went on a Sunday afternoon so there wasn’t much traffic but still) I ordered the Jambalaya. I had heard that this was one of the best things on the menu so i tried it. It was fantastic! Good portion, enough shrimp and sausage. the rice incredibly flavorful and with a good kick! The rice they use is the same kind has Rice House of Kabob(im not sure what its called) but i thought it was a great dish! My mom’s dish was my favorite by far, but only becasue im a sucker for alfredo dishes. She had the Shrimp alfredo pasta with spinache. YUUUUUUMMM, they use macaronies and it is creamy and cheesy and delicious!!! i wish i had ordered this instead of being different and ordering jambalaya lol. Such a great comfort dish. My dad had the panseared horseradish salmon that came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. That was amazing too! nice flavor and of the elements on the plate combined so well! The only downer was my poor boyfriend’s dish, the Baja Fish Tacos. The were so pour in flavor, unsalted and with this mango salsa that couldve been genious except it can’t stand alone;it needed the fish in the taco to be spectacular. but it wasnt. It came with a side of black beans and white rice, im not too sure why. Either way, i enjoyed the ambiance and décor of the place: Sportsbar gone upscale. I would definitly go back and try something else.

Had the pleasure of eating at the Bluepoint Ocean grill this past Monday — in fact it was me and 30 of my closest industry friends! We were originally expecting 20 — 24 people, and so I didn’t anticipate so many others showing up. Fortunately it was a Monday evening, so not a major concern. But I need to say I was concerned about the size of our group because we’re talking about everyone doing a lot of socializing as we all caught up with each other(those who already knew one another) and got to know people(those we hadn’t met before)… so it could have gotten chaotic with orders and food being brought out on time, or to the wrong person… Kelly, the evening manager, was stellar — she let me know that they’d do all they could to have it be a smooth and positively memorable experience for us. She introduced me before dinner to Kristy and Lindsay, our two servers, letting them know they should help me in anything I might need throughout the evening. That was something nobody’s ever done before at any other restaurant(and this was the 4th time I’ve put one of these«Epic» dinners together this year). I got the grilled Salmon dinner — and it was perfect. The asparagus that came with it was also perfectly cooked — just tender enough. The only minor issue was that 2 of the orders had somehow gotten lost in the process of their doing their best to fill 31 different orders within just a few minutes. Well, both dishes were brought out eventually, and Kelly comped both. So overall, it was just a totally fantastic evening of food, friendship, and fun. And my hats off to Josh, the general manager who I first contacted to set this up, as well as Kelly, Kristy and Lindsay, as well as the people in the kitchen — chef and cooks, for making it such a great experience. The BluePoint Ocean Grill is now on the top of my list for anyone wanting to find a great place to have a large gathering for dinner. Oh — and the extra bonus in this? we were originally going to split the bill 4 ways — with equal amounts on each bill. But then several people in our group wanted to pay separately. Kristy and Lindsay accommodated them, earning an extra double bonus thumbs up from me for being so willing — I know how crazy that can be.

Dear Bluepoint Ocean Grill, Many moons ago, when you first opened, I was a regular patron. At the time, I lived in Hollywood, and naturally, the newly opened Hard Rock was my stomping grounds. Oh how I enjoyed thee, and reveled in your King Crab legs. But alas, life happened and I moved away, and much time had passed since I was last here. Then, the opportunity arose to see Cirque de Soleil, and I found myself back in your vicinity. Finding ourselves kind of hungry after the show, I knew exactly where I wanted to eat, and so we came here. It was rather busy around 10pm, with a small wait for a table, so we chose to sit at a high-top table next to the bar. It was perfect, and got us seated right away. It took a while to receive any kind of service in this area, and I’m not sure if it was because of where we were seated. When our waiter finally arrived, we were quick to order. 120-ox Newcastle, 1 Key West Mojito, an order of Filet Sliders, and King Crab Leg Bites. Our drinks came after about 15 minutes, and only when I noticed them sitting on the ledge waiting to be picked up. So I asked the bartender if he minded bringing them over to us, which then he promptly did. When the food arrived, it was not what I expected. I guess I shouldn’t have ordered steak at a seafood place… The filet sliders left much to be desired. They were TINY, half the size of the slider bun, which is already small to begin with, and they had NO flavor. It was pretty bad. The King Crab Leg bites were just half of a regular King Crab leg, and they were fresh and delicious. I always enjoy King Crab legs. An overall OK experience, but nothing spectacular. I felt let down by my memories, as I expected better. Oh well, maybe next time. Regards, SabrinaAnna*

I went here with a large party for a birthday. They were very accommodating and sat us quickly. We had originally had reservations elsewhere, but since over half the party was an hour late it expired and that place had an hour wait… So, the waiter promptly took our drink orders and told us about the specials. We had our drinks pretty quickly, considering there was 10 of us. The service aspect here I would give 4 stars. Attentive, friendly and efficient. The mojitos are very good here — 4 stars. The food was just OK. I did love the bread the brought out it’s buttery and has a hint of onion… the kind I bet would make good toast! I had blackened Mahi, which was just okay. The cut was thin and didn’t taste the freshest. Not super fishy, just not that fresh out of the water flavor. The blackened seasoning was okay. It was a little dry, and had a few dreaded brown, gray spots. The mixed veggies were nothing to write home about since they consisted of mostly red onion and scarce amounts of other veggies. Food I would give 2.5 stars. I’m willing to give this place another chance, since the service was so good.
