I’ve never had to deal with anything like that in my life. Back in December My stylist purchase some hair which turns out to be very poor quality when I went to return it I had the worst experience. I spent thousands on that store and they refuse to take their poor quality merchandise or do anything so I posted a review of my experience since it was my first bad experience I decided to give them an other try. I drove a long way so when I got they basically blackmailed me by telling if I wanted to purchase any hair that I needed to remove my review I was in and shop that company can operate under those circumstances. To say this will be my last time well be going back there ever again and I will tell all my friends about my experience. Buyer be aware.

Firstly, I must apologize for failing to write this review sooner. I began as a sewn-in weave client of Hautelocks in 2013. Upon moving to Miami in 2011, I found it difficult to find a skilled«weavestress»…someone who is able to offer high quality hair(no tangling or significant shedding) install, color and style a weave with such exceptional skill and expertise that people assume it’s my own hair. In proprietor and stylist, Amanda, I found that person. After a few months of requesting sewn-in weaves, Amanda suggested I try having a custom unit(wig) designed for myself. I was hesitant, as I’ve been a sewn-on weave client for over 20 years. Upon emailing a sample photo displaying the look I wanted and purchasing hair, she created a unit that was ready within a week or so and it was absolutely GORGEOUS! In my 20 yrs of wearing weaves, my hair has never garnered as much attention until I donned Amanda’s custom units. Women representing all demographics, constantly compliment me on my hair. I’ve had 2 additional units created since and I’m hoping to request a 4th unit to be designed soon(please say you’re still making units, Amanda???) If you’re seeking quality hair from someone who is AMAZING at installing, coloring and styling hair, you’ll find it at Hautelocks! Bravo, Amanda!

I wouldn’t even give this business one star but I had to. Wow. What a waste of time, and money ladies stay FAR away. This is my second time buying their hair. I went to the store both times. The woman who is in there has such a poor attitude and talks back. The first Time that I purchased she was catching quite an attitude with me just by me asking simple questions. A man came out and actually started talking to me he also work there and it was very nice and explained everything that I needed to know to me in full detail also while being kind and I bought three bundles of the Mongolian tight Curl and a closure. After a few weeks they are definitely with sharding and not as manageable as it was when I first got it I did however initially love how it looks so I figured maybe I just got a bad batch. And then I would give them another chance even with the poor customer service I experienced. I went back to the store and the same woman I talk to you before was in there in the gentleman was not. She had a major attitude barely even wanted to help me or answer any question I ended up just walking out because I was so astonished at the poor customer service. No like I mention she is the same woman that was there the first time I went a few months ago so I’m quite sure that she’s there every day. But they need to understand this customer service is the most important thing I own a business and I would never ever speak to a customer the way she spoke to me I will never be returning and it’s a shame because I spent a lot of money my hair and I spent a lot of money my hair with them. But not only was the hair a disappointment the first time the poor customer service the first and second time is what pushed me over the edge. Haute locks hire new people at the store.

First let me say, if you don’t read the care instructions or ask questions or take care of your hair it is going to tangle and become difficult to manage. Even when I don’t take good care of my tight curls I can still manage it which is a miracle for me! I have been using Hautelocks for I think like 2 years now. I’m not 100% sure how long but I refuse to go anywhere else. Right before I started Hautelocks I tried this other place(whom I will not name) for my tight curl and it ended up getting matted so bad one time when I went in the ocean that I had to cut I out of my hair(while I was on vacation). YOUNEVERHAVETOWORRYABOUTTHATWITHHAUTELOCKS. I am currently on my third install of tight curl. I have dyed it a little lighter than what the original«natural black» it came in. And the curl pattern has not changed. I take decent care of my hair. I can’t say I take good care of my hair because I’m not twisting or braiding it every night. But still I brush it out regularly and can still reuse it. I have also used the soft curl and love that just as much… It’s just the tight curl is the exact curl pattern of my natural hair so I don’t use closure pieces. I highly recommend Hautelocks. It’s really not high maintenance hair and can be reinstalled to cut some of your costs. Thanks to everyone at Hautelocks!!! Love yall

I purchased hair from Hautelocks about 3 months ago(Brazilian Straight and a closure). The positives, the hair arrived in time with no shipping issues. Now the packaging of the hair left a lot to be desired. Once I took it out of the mailing envelope, I found the hair wrapped in tissue paper with their logo on it. I bought 2 bundles of hair and a closure with the closure being the only piece that came in it’s own plastic. The rest of the hair was just left out, no bands or anything just plopped in the paper. If I pay close to $ 400 for hair and the site prides itself on supplying premium hair at least care about the presentation of your product. I’m amazed with all the travel through the mail that the hair wasn’t a jumbled, tangled mess considering no effort went into packing the hair individually either in plastic or pouches especially at these prices. I ordered a 12″ and a 14″. The 14″ was/is beautiful, the 12″ was of lesser quality. The beard was very pronounced and the two textures were different. The closure was very silky also different in color from the other 2 bundles. I’m not going to call it bad hair as I’ve only ordered from them once however I was definitely expecting a different product than what I received. Who ever packaged the hair didn’t seem at all concerned with consistency of the hair type which left me with 3 different textures of hair. My hairstylist loves this company so I will give them another try I just wish it was understood that presentation and consistency all contribute to the customer experience and more importantly repeat business. I’m willing to chalk this up to issues than can happen with any business and I expect the next buying experience to be better.

I originally purchased from haute locks after a friend recommended me. I went to the store, spoke to Gindi(I believe?), and purchased 3 bundles and a closure. The hair(tight curl) had minimal shedding, and no tangling. I made a unit wig… No less than two weeks later, the hair became very dry and unmanageable even after I co washed it or «just put water on it» as explained by Gindi(after calling the store to complain). Anyway, I made my own home remedy and it turned out a little better. I decided to order again(this time thru mail). I thought MAYBE I got a bad batch or did something wrong with the first unit. NOPE. I spent almost $ 500 on 3 bundles of the soft curly and a closure. 2 of the bundles were fine, but one of them was atrocious… It tangled ridiculously after I ran my hands thru it once, the sewing on the wefts were COMINGAPART, and there was white stuff all throughout the bundle. I give this store 1 star because they were considerate enough to give me a FULLREFUND.

This is my 3rd purchase from hautelocks in the past year. I typically order the tight curl, but decided to purchase the soft curl instead. The tight curl shed, as to be expected from curly hair, but the soft curl had alopecia. The volume of my hair changed drastically within 3 weeks. The shedding was so unbearable my significant other asked my to remove the hair because hair was all over our home and cars. Not only was the quality of the hair horrible, the customer service during this transaction was also horrible. I was not told that customer service policies changed and had to jump through several hoops-not being able to pay via paypal, shipping only being allowed to the billing address. Changes of this nature should be communicated to loyal customers. I attempted to share this with Trayvon via phone and assumed I would be in contact with someone else if I sent an email. He also responded to my email, which fell on deaf ears. Based on this experience I cannot recommend the tight curl or soft curl patterns, nor would I recommend spend money where they have to jump through hoops to order hair. Customer service is definitely lackluster.

Such a cute and stylish place! I came in to buy some hair(my weave has to stay on point). The associate Gindi who helped me was a pleasure and the quality of the hair is the !! Totally worth my 40 min commute from Miami!!!
