Holistic By Nona

I ventured up to the Hollywood Hills last weekend for a massage/​reiki session. A little slice of heaven! It was a pretty, scenic trip up there, and both services were great. Some people just have «the» gift, and Nona is definitely one of those people. Magic hands. Probably one of the best massages I’ve had. I left feeling totally content and at peace.

Best in the West for facials, waxing, massages, etc! On top of that, Nona is an amazing person in general. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants an awesome experience and to be pampered.

When you get a massage by Nona, your body is actually transformed afterwards. Her touch is strong and deep and lasting. Her facials are also great.

I really enjoyed my relaxing massage. I really appreciated how Nona explained each step and gave me tips on how to improve my skin texture.
I have acne prone skin and my skin was in very bad shape but after facial by her, it is now day 2 and already clearing up. I love it!

I read all the Unilocal reviews and made an appointment last week, but was so disappointed. Nona stopped the service twice to answer the phone during my wax, when you are in a vulnerable position, this is the last thing you want. Surely an answering machine would be better.
She missed a few areas when waxing and I felt that the job was just sloppy. She forgot to wax between my brows, or left my hairy, which I hate. I didn’t know until I got home. She didn’t offer a mirror, or I would have seen this. My brows took five minutes, other places I have been to take fifteen. No tweezing.
I hate writing bad reviews, but I certainly didn’t find what others did. Perhaps Nona was too chill for me. She leaves her door open so there is only a curtain between you and the world. Her place is around the back and upstairs (from the street) so it feels safe, but there are other businesses up there and there is a flow of people back and forth. I walked in off the street, meaning anyone can.
I am glad that others have found her great, but I won’t be going back.

I’ve been going to Nona for a year or so, maybe even longer. I have to say that my skin is always glowing after a facial. I’m really impressed with the way my skin looks and feels afterwards! The vibe is chill and we normally have «girl talk» while my facial is going on… which I enjoy. Nona is great at what she does. The space is cozy with vintage furniture and eclectic wall art. As a bonus you can stop by Bricks and Scones before or after to pick up a treat!

Very personalized and reliable sessions. I can always depend on Nona to make me feel very comfortable and she focuses on helping you self remedy skin problems you may be experiencing. In my case it was acne. Her expertise is invaluable.

Nona is what you need in your life. I have been coming to Nona for years.
Let’s just say, I got a little cocky with my radiant skin. So much, I became less attentive to it for about a year plus; therefore my pretty glowing face just went down the drain (SAD — I KNOW) — I recently gave Nona a call out of desperation (a month ago) and immediately started receiving compliments from friends about how great my skin looks. From now on, I don’t care what is going on in my life, I will make time for Nona and my skin. She is the real deal!

Nona is truly the best. I received the living social deal as a gift from my sister 2 years ago and I haven’t looked back since. Her facials have drastically improved my skin. I trust no one else except Nona. She knows my skin. She also has good skin so that speaks for itself. Nona is quite knowledgeable on products and knows how to cater to your skin type. Also, my sister saw my results and now goes to Nona religiously and not surprisingly her skin has only gotten better. I would recommend getting the peel added to your facial for an even bigger difference.

I found Nona, like many, through a living social deal. What I like best is that I am there specifically to get facials as my skin needs help! She got right down to business– answered all my questions about my skin care routine, what I should change, what I should continue because it’s working. I followed her advice and my skin is getting better! Not amazing yet, but it’s no longer a nightmare and I can finally wear less makeup. She is also very happily working with my budget, giving me half facials and then giving me instructions on what I should do when I get home right after to continue the benefits of the facial until my next visit.
I really appreciate Nona’s style. Doing what works without fuss to get the job done!

I had happily set up my fiancée with a facial. While she thoroughly enjoyed the organic products used for the treatment, neither of us will be returning for the following reasons:
— Nona’s website lists the treatment I was going to be paying for to be $ 95, but on Tuesday’s it must be $ 110? She said: «oh, today it’s $ 110»
— there’s a machine that helps open your pores, perhaps it heats the towel (i don’t know what the process is), but it was not working that day. Could she not have told us? Could she not have given us a discount? Did the extra $ 15 I paid go to help pay for a new machine or to repair it?
— her hygiene is questionable
— leaving my fiancée alone in the room with her Staffordshire was a big no no. While he’s adorable and affectionate, you never know a dog can snap. And that is not the likes of a chihuahua — more like a beast.

I went here through a living social deal and Nona was very accommodating with the scheduling. She said that as long as I book the appointment before the expiration day, the deal will still count, even if the actual treatment is way later.
First let me start off by saying, like you might have gathered already, that this is a one woman show. Keep that in mind when you want to book an appointment for more than one person at a time. She can only treat one person at a time.
Secondly, also keep in mind that there are no showers or extra razors here so you will need to make whatever preparations you usually make prior to coming here.

i am a personal trainer and i work my body hard during my own workouts; and i take a beating while training my clients in kickboxing. i see Nona ever week for a massage and i can feel the difference when i miss a week. Nona has strong hands and works out all the kinks in my muscles to keep my body functioning at peak performance. i highly recommend a massage from Nona!
i have also started getting facials for the first time in my life at her suggestion, and it has made a huge difference in my skin. she seems to be able to do just about anything.

Nona is a breath of fresh her, she takes the time to address any questions you may have in regards to products, caring for your skin, etc. I can honestly say that my skin has improved drastically since I started to see her. She is very very good at what she does, she knows how to take care of her clients. I even have my husband seeing her and he even has noticed that he doesn’t break out like he use to.

I have been going to Nona for facials for a year and a half. She completely fixed my skin. My dermatologist wanted to wait a few more months before putting me on accutane, and I figured I would give facials a shot. I started seeing Nona once a month for a facial and a peel. She told me it would take a week or so after the facial before my skin started healing itself. From that first facial on, my skin started getting better. The products she recommends are amazing. She doesn’t push them on you, but she should, because they freakin work.
I stayed on my prescription from the dermatologist and saw Nona regularly, and now MY SKIN IS COMPLETELY CLEAR. I mean not one blemish. Nona gets so much crap out of my pores when I see her that there is no way my face is going to break out. I get one or two zits every now and then, but I am able to catch it before it becomes a problem. I was able to stop taking my prescriptions without my skin breaking out and without ever having to take accutane. The only thing I take now is birth control to keep my insane hormones from screwing everything up. I now see Nona every couple months for a facial and I couldn’t be happier. My skin was so bad I would have payed any amount of money in the world to make it how it is now. Thankfully, Nona is very affordable!
Her office is located in the really cute Larchmont area. It’s nothing fancy, just really welcoming and comfortable, which I prefer. Nona is not all about frills or high tech machines that jack up the prices at other spas. She knows about skin and nutrition, she’s fun to talk to, she’ll play good music and she will make your skin look awesome! If you want some fancy high priced place with a million clients that offers trendy treatments, go somewhere else. If you want a personal experience and your skin to actually get better, this is the place for you.

In Sept. 2010, I purchased a gift certificate from
for a 30 minute facial and a 45 minute massage at Holistic by Nona. I paid $ 67, which seemed like a good deal. I checked out the Unilocal reviews online and they looked really good. The expiration date for the cert was 2÷20÷11.
On Feb 7, I called Nona to schedule an appointment for my treatments. She informed me that since I (and many others) had waited until the ‘last minute’ to redeem the cert, she had no available times before the expiration date of Feb 20, but was extending it into March. However, she was offering only a one hour massage or facial… my choice. She absolutely refused to honor the certificate for the treatments I purchased and was pretty pushy about it.
I forwarded my comments/​complaint to LivingSocial, and they cheerfully gave me a refund. (They are wonderful, and this is the only problem I’ve had with their service)

I just went there today for facial and massage and it was great! Some places you just feel like you’ve gotten a rub down– but this massage completely freed my shoulders, back, and neck.
She went into the deep tissue and worked out whatever kinks were there. I can’t wait for a restful night’s sleep!

Nona is the real deal.
Massage is thorough. She gets all the knots out. I just had one today!
I get waxing done for my brows, legs and pits, plus tint for my lashes.
My brows look stunning.
She is a kind, caring healer too, as she is a Reiki Master and uses it in her massages. I love it!
I won’t go to anyone else.
She rocks!
