Our party of 4 stopped here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We were very excited to see that this restaurant had 4 stars on Unilocal,so we decided to dine here. Unfortunately, I wish we had the great food experience that the other reviews mentioned. Our lunch orders were incredibly bland and lacked the rich taste that typical Cuban cuisine offers. Service was great but the dishes were truly uninspiring and very basic. Two stars for cleanliness and service, but the food was very disappointing.

I find it very interesting that this Cuban Restaurant was packed by the time we left, of American friends. The food have Cuban flavor, and the service was fast, perfect. Prices are fair and good amount of food . Churrasco was very tender. Big parking lot … Very recommended !

Great Cuban cuisine without having to go to Miami or Havana. The chicken empanadas were s great choice as a appetizer. They were hot and prepared in a timely manner. Ordered the flat chicken for dinner and it was great as well. Marinated with all the right seasonings and the rice and beans and plantains were a great addition as side items. The service here is normally pretty good I’ve never had to wait a long time for seating or for the food to come out. Definitely a place worth stopping and grabbing some Cuban cuisine.

The service started out poor… I was told«I’ll be with you in a second…» then the waiter went and saw a couple of other tables then he said, «I’m sorry, my manager is yelling at me that you’re sitting here by yourself and I haven’t come over…» Does he come over? No, he goes and sees two more tables(again)…then he finally comes over and takes my order… From there on, it was great! The food was fabulous, great sized portions, it was inexpensive and the service was better from that point on.

Pleasantly Surprised! We stayed the night in Ft. Lauderdale after our cruise. Las Vegas is right across the street from the hotel and came highly recommended by the staff. Of course I checked the reviews and the were accurate! We have never had Cuban food but glad this was our first experience! Plantains were amazing and come with every dish! I had the Shrimp Creole and my fiancé had«chicken chunks» with grilled onions and peppers(almost like fajitas w/o tortillas). Fast & friendly service as well.

Very tasty, we will go back again. The black beans and rice will make you sing. Excellent tamales, they are open-faced. Wonderful, helpful and friendly waitress, until she asked for her tip in cash. We obliged. Worth the stop! There are two locations.

Location close to hotel. We were pleasantly surprised. We wanted something merging a little difference before our cruise and this was definitely the spot. We were greeted promptly and seated on media tell on a Saturday afternoon. My sister ordered the paella and I ordered the black beans and yucca. The paella was the special of the evening and came with shrimp, clams, lobster and rice with a side of plantains. What a lovely presentation. My black bean soup and yucca did not disappoint. There was enough yucca for two and the bean soup(cup) was hot and plentiful. Great job we may return on the other end of our cruise.

Well what can I say? The food was Excellent! !!! The black beans were seasoned just right!!! Those plantains I could eat them all day. My two family members that came with me felt the same way! Sangria was good but it had can fruit(del monte). Would definitely come back if I cruise out of here again!

We gave this place a 3. Yes the food was agreeable and boy was there plenty of it. When asked about the portions, the waitperson said that all were good for one person so we ordered accordingly. My wife had the Grouper while I had what really was the Mixed Grill consisting of Steak, Chicken and a Pork Chop. Each Main came with a bowl of rice and fried Plantain. Much too much food. Now mind you I and my wife have decent appetites with each of us capable or consuming an entire rack of Baby Backs, fries and salad. But these portions were huge. We noticed also that most people took home doggie bags. The food tasted ok but lacked spice. Bland, in other words. Yes, we’ve had Cuba food before, INCUBA, and liked it so this wasn’t as good. Would we return? Yes, but we’d order a single main only with perhaps a side of salad or something. We washed everything down with Sangria. It was weak and tasted watered down. But we would return, next time we come here to catch a cruise. Richard

Went for dinner because of good reviews. Had to refuse twice the tables waitress tried to let us seat. Next to restroom & next to kitchen door even though there were tables available. Don’t know whether she was trying to save tables for her regulars or bigger parties, I don’t know. The bread & black bean soup were good. Others were average, I guess. No experience on Cuban food except Cuban sandwich. So not sure whether their food is about average to me or Cuban food is not my taste. Their atmosphere was average. Nothing special.

Terrible which is sad because I love the Las Vegas in Pembroke Pines. It was so dirty. We sat by the window and it was covered in crude and dead flies. I ordered fish a it was so mushy and luke warm. So sad. Won’t be back.

This review is quite a bit late as I haven’t lived in Fla for 5 plus years. Unilocal wasn’t as popular or I didn’t know about it. Anywho. This place is always great and cheap. Great options and they had a drive through at one point! I always got their Ropa Vieja and it did not disappoint. Flavorful and great sides. Service was fine not a 5 star service. But nothing really bad happened. Haven’t been back yet so who knows how it is now but I went at least once a month back in the day. They can be a bit snooty if you don’t pronounce the dishes correctly.

After a very long morning and flying in from Dallas, we were ready to eat! No doubt the first thing I wanted was Cuban. I searched for a place in the area and I had my husband go to that one first. It was in a community club house and closed on Easter. Another quick search on Unilocal, and forgot that I had bookmarked Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine and it was around the corner! Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine is a family owned restaurant. You can dine in and carry out, but they have a drive through and deliver! Man, if I lived in the area I know where I would be eating at all the time. LVCC has a pretty big menu. I went with the Palomilla steak. My husband went with the Picadillo. I’ve made it for him several times, but my cooking sucks and it doesn’t come out tasting the same as it does when it’s cooked authentically. I was delighted to see cuban bread to come out first. I went with black beans and rice and plantains as a side. My absolute favorite sides that are a rarity in Texas. The kids got fish and fries. My son loved my palomilla steak and wanted to share after tasting it. Forget the fish he said. I enjoyed my meal here.

I was glad to have this place across the street from my hotel as the other options wre pretty abysmal. The restaurant was hopping on a Saturday night but I was seated(table of one, please!) right away. There were lots of different people here — families, people on dates, people on vacation — it was nice to see a mix. I had the Shrimp creole, though maybe not so Cuban, but it was recommended by the waitress. I really like it — like lick my plate clean good. Sangria was so-so but delivered with a smile. I’d come back!

Per a recommendation from a good friend living in South Florida, we visited Las Vegas the second evening of our stay in Fort Lauderdale. And what a meal that was, despite the restaurant being housed in a repurposed Taco Bell-like building that nearly turned us off from dining there. Of course, when senior citizens were walking in at 7PM, we knew that it was going to be good … you can always trust that they’ll be at the best spots, since they’re trying to make the best of their last good years! All joking aside, the quality of the food and service was excellent. The hostess greeted and sat us promptly with menus. Our first request was house red sangria, which was followed by warm bread toasted with olive oil. We then placed our orders: — Las Vegas Combination: A heaping portion of Vaca Frita, Lechon Asado, and Chicharron de Pollo grilled with spices I could never replicate at home; — Bistec Milanesa: A delightful breaded palomilla steak with layers of creole sauce, fresh ham, and mozzarella cheese, a meal that I’ve never seen eaten faster; — Filetillo: Juicy skirt steak strips marinated with bell peppers and onions that paired perfectly with the sangria; and — Churrasco served with chimichurri sauce, served medium rare and did not fail to satisfy. Each dish was served with sides of sweet plantains, white rice, and black beans. Within 20 minutes, our entrees were served, and in another 20 minutes, the steaks and sangria disappeared. I saved half of my dish for breakfast the next morning, knowing that the meats would crisp nicely and pair well with sunny side up eggs.(Besides, given that I had a double portion, I knew I wouldn’t be finishing my dish, no matter how delicious the food.) Our water glasses were never empty, and our table was cleared as soon as we finished eating. And with all the food and drink we consumed, our bill came out to be under $ 100, including tax and tip. Why not five stars? While the restaurant certainly wasn’t an upscale establishment, it wasn’t a fast food joint either, so we expected to see clean floors and not to have to listen to the constant squeal of un-oiled restroom door jambs. I suppose one would get used to these minor issues if they became a regular. Next time we come visit FLL, we’ll return to try other dishes. Bravo!

When I travel, I like to eat locally… I’ve been jonesing for a decent Cuban meal during my recent trips to and through South Florida. So I literally had the hotel clerk at Homewood Suites call in a carry-out order at 9:54PM — Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine closes at 10PM. They were happy to accommodate and the shuttle driver was nice enough to make a run with me to pick up my late night dinner. Back at my room, I thoroughly enjoyed my roast port dinner with rice, plantains and black beans. The pork was good but could have used a bit more salt and garlic. The beans were really, I mean really flavorful. I’m a sucker for properly prepared plantains — and these did not disappoint.
