Good trainers and nice people. Parking is small and it’s pretty dirty here and it’s also very expensive. Could use a lot of improvement but the instruction is good. They’re moving to another location

Lot to cover in this review. Also want to hit on a few things other people have posted.
I really enjoyed the classes and trainers. I’ve recommended this gym to number of people. I moved out of the area or would still be going.
I’m beginner level. I do have 10 years of wrestling experience and some boxing training, so it wasn’t completely foreign. I like the way the gym works the beginners and experienced fighters together. Great work out, training, and safe environment.
Location: If you live in this general area of Los Angeles you should expect it’s a little dodgy. You’re not in Santa Monica.
Parking: They don’t have good parking in the lot. You can find a spot in the neighborhood. As mentioned, the neighborhood is a little dodgy.
Locker Rooms: Comments on the locker rooms not being nice are exactly right. I’m not coming into shower so it does not affect me. I didn’t feel the gym was dirty. Just a strange set up for the locker room. It’s an old building that was updated well. Looks like they put money into fighting space and equipment, not locker rooms.
Size. The gym is large an nice. It does house pole dancing classes on the other side. It’s fairly well separated although they share check in and locker rooms.
Cost. They offer all class package for $ 185 a month or single skill for $ 85 a month. Seemed reasonable enough. You can see the specialties on the web page. I felt I was getting my moneys worth.
I was looking for serious training to work toward personal goals of being a better overall fighter. That’s what they provided.

Filthy, unsanitary, limited parking, overpriced for facility, bad neighborhood, smells like drugs. Overpriced.
Great classes and instructors

They don’t play around. I went just to see the facilities and observe a class. Before I knew it, I was handed a pair of complimentary shorts and told to go change and jump in. Yeah. Good thing I had on a tank top, i.e., something remotely exercise-​ish, under my polo. I believe that class was the only time an instructor has spoken to me using profanity, albeit in a casual and mild way. It surprised but also propelled me. Two drills I still remember and wish more places made me do are, for lack of succinct terminology, «back to the wall, drop down /​stand up repeatedly» and «jumping knees on the uppercut bag». I didn’t end up $enrolling$ as I ultimately didn’t move to LA, but it did look like a slick place to train.

good gym but over rated the prices high .need clean get staff infection, not everyione wants to be a fighters, i was pro the pay and trainng not woth it to much work no guaranteed pay off !! most pros dont teach there to busy for there own fights !!

I come here for BeSpun, which shares the same space… But it’s nice to see buff guys punching the bags and gloves… So that’s nice.

As a female walking into a mixed martial arts training facility can feel a bit daunting. However, over the last few months of taking classes at Legends MMA and private sessions with Eddie Jackson (Welter Weight TuffNuff Champion who trains & competes with the Legends Team) I have been met with nothing but kindness and respect combined with amazing workouts, improved self esteem, a toned body, and an enhanced ability with self defense in a safe and constructive environment.
Legends MMA is owned by Chris Reilly, who upon first introduction invited me into his world, the Legends family. After getting to know some of the people who work and train there, «family» is truth. It is the kind of place where a female can feel safe and comfortable in a room full of men with skill ranges from professional fighter to beginner, and NOT feel out of place in any way. They encourage empowerment and owning ones self and actions.
One of the best things that I’ve found at Legends is that I can get an amazing workout, train my mind and body, while NOT being ogled, reduced to a sexual object, or having my space invaded. It is the ONLY gym that I’ve ever worked out at where respect for one another is a code that is strictly enforced.
The instructors are professionals who understand modifications to work around any existing injuries you might have. Their ability to work on technique and isolate the areas that can use improvement are unsurpassed by other gyms that I’ve encountered. The instructors can quickly ascertain if one needs to work on endurance, strength, technique, etc. and will take the time to give each student specific attention to achieve their goals. Instructors understand the importance of self empowerment, especially for women. I mention this specifically because I’ve been to other studios where they don’t exactly welcome females.
Legends keeps the mind and body connection of what is martial arts intact, even in their MMA classes. They help clients on their journey to continually evolve into better human beings through strength in ones own self, and team work with those around you. They will take you to your physical and mental limit, and help you to push forward to the next level of a newfound endurance. Since I began taking classes here it has helped me in all aspects of my life including my art, career, personal, as well as my health.
Legends MMA has everything one needs for a complete workout program. This three level gym has helped to meet all of my fitness goals without the boredom that comes with normal gyms and exercise routines.
As an entertainment professional their ability to be candid is another plus. Everyone that I have encountered keeps to a certain level of respect and professionalism. I recommend Legends to anyone interested in mixed martial arts and/​or just a new work out lifestyle, routine, and environment.

I can give an objective review of this gym because I had a job with an MMA clothing company sponsoring fighters all over the Southern California region. I visited many gyms and by far LEGENDS MMA has the best variety of classes taught by the best instructors. Chris Reilly is the first American Thai Boxing Champion who fought in front of the King of Thailand on his birthday in Bangkok, Thailand. Eddie Bravo is the legendary first American to beat a Gracie in Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu who’s re-​invented Jiu-​Jitsu for MMA, Amir Rhanavardi is one of the only true original PRIDE fighters that can be found teaching MMA here on the West Coast. These MMA LEGENDS have also breeded the next generation of MMA badasses that also teach every kind of student from the average Joe who wants to have fun getting in shape while learning how to kick some ass, to the seasoned MMA professional fighter who wants to sharpen his game to take his career to the next level. Peter who teaches the Muay Thai classes has fought in Thailand himself, all the teachers have authentic professional experience. you definitely get your moneys worth.
Spacious, full sized cage, all the equipment youd need for MMA, period. great location!
4stars only because it used to have Elite UFC veterans that you could take private lessons with, but they dont have that affiliation any longer.

Hmm well where to start, the facility is well… below par, especially where MMA and BJJ gyms are abundant this facility is lacking, it is very large but the mats etc are just not that clean. And the Co-​Ed locker room used by both a MMA gym and pole dancing academy will never be anything other than just weird. Many of the people there are very nice, but by no means is this an Ego-​less gym, there are plenty of jerks who are not really interested in helping newer students. Also, I do have alot of respect for Eddie Bravo, not my favorite BJJ practitioner but certainly a very good and unique one… but to have to take privates with someone in order to «get in» to his actual classes is just dumb. Somehow the many other BJJ gyms in LA can handle newer guys learning from the actual instructor they are paying to learn from. But anyway, it’s not a horrible place but could certainly use some improvement.

Legends rocks. I’m taking Muay Thai with Chris, Chris Peter, Amir and company. There’s no attitude, just a fun, insane hour of Thai kickboxing workout. Classes are small and there is a nice family feel here. There’s Edie Bravo’s 10^th planet and pole dancing and spin as well, but I haven’t done these, the kickboxing is enough for now.

Where do I start, and how do I keep this concise? I’ve been training martial arts for years, and I’ve known about Legends even longer. My understanding is this is not their original location, and many fighters and trainers have left by now. Trust me, I’ve belonged to martial arts gyms that are not fancy, but this place was such a dump it makes me wonder if it’s even clean. Am I going to get MRSA? The locker room and restroom is CO-​ED. Yes, CO-​ED. So me, MMA fighters, and strippers/​actresses taking pole dancing there, are supposed to shower, change, and pee together. No thank you. There was limited parking in the lot, and being from NY most neighborhoods don’t scare me. I had to park on the street, and it’s not the projects or anything, but everyone’s house/​apartment windows had bars, so I wasn’t that psyched about the nighttime street parking.

Eddie Bravo is an amazing instructor who teaches an amazing class. He is an innovator and an educator as well as a close friend. This is the best place to learn BJJ in LA without a doubt.

I have been a member of Legends MMA for about 8 months. It is a very well equipped gym offering a variety of classes from Muay Thai to MMA to Jiu Jitsu to MMA based cardio classes (no contact). All of the trainers are experienced fighters who also are very adept at explaining and teaching proper technique and form. Classes begin at 7 A.M. and end late at night, so regardless of anyone’s schedule, classes are always available. I joined Legends with no martial arts training and I feel that I have learned an unbelievable amount of training in 8 months. I am a petite woman and I have always felt comfortable and safe training at Legends. I have never felt intimidated or as though I couldn’t participate because of being a small woman. The instructors look out for their students and other members of the gym are always helpful and great to work with. Plus, I’m in better shape than I have ever been in my life and its not even like working out, its just doing something that I truly enjoy.
