After nearly going nuts trying to find Johnny Rockets, we decided to stop our frantic search and eat at Metro Dogs. By that time, we were so annoyed and hungry that we would have eaten at Arby’s if it was right in front us! While the hotdogs were damn delicious, the price on the other hand, wasn’t. It seemed a lot for a little but if the moment rose again, I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here once more. We ate outside and the owner who had nothing else to do step outside to advertise his business and made small-talk with every person transitioning through. I’m sure he’s quite a handful but one thing he’s proud of, is his weiner.

It was close to home but when you say you want a Chicago Dog and you have to point to the poster behind the guy who’s making it, I was a like, oh no. They give you the hot dog with the pickle and one little slice of tomato. You gotta put on the rest. Relish, not Chicago. But hey, I was happy for the taste of Chicago in Hollywood. If I’m in the area again, I’ll go back.

So there is a new hotdog stand at Hollywood and Highland in the same corner as the last hotdog stand Star hot dogs? I happend by Metro Dogs on a sweltering Sunday and stopped in. The owner/manager was standing outside the small stand touting his dogs to anyone who happened by in a happy friendly tone and taking pictures with tourists waiting for the star line tours which also meets in that corner of hollywood and highland. I had one of their jumbo Vienna beef hotdogs with Saurkraut, and this is where the trouble began. The stand keeps the dogs in a steam table along with the buns. The hotdogs are the caseless variety so there is no snap, very little flavor, and are warm. The buns that are as I said before also steamed, and are over soft and cannot really stand up to the topping that you are tempted to pile on to add flavor to the dog. The price for the jumbo dog was nearly 5 bucks(4.60) and that is without a drink, this is about right for Hollywood and Highland, but when you can get a superior dog down the street at skooby’s for less I can only wish Metro Dogs good luck. I will not be back
