Russell Ficara, DC

I have been going to Dr. Ficara for over a year now. I visit every two weeks for maintenance – mostly to combat the unhealthy consequences of an office job. :) I like that he shares his personal experiences and demonstrates exercises for me to do on my own to get stronger. The office is consistently calm in terms of atmosphere and the building is easy to find (just east of the Town Hall circle in Hollywood) and parking is never an issue. I look forward to my appointments because I leave feeling great!

Really enjoyed my experience there. The receptionist is very sweet and such a lovey person. Very professional, and the Doctor really makes you feel comfortable. I’ve never been to a chiropractor before so it was very important to me to feel comfortable.

The best chiropractor I have ever been to and that’s saying something because I have been to many. He listens and really spends a lot of time helping resolve whatever discomfort or pain you are feeling. I trust him. He was able to accomodate my wife even though she still nursing our baby. Also, when we started seeing him, we had no insurance and he was the only doctor in my area who would take us and had reasonable fees. I count my lucky stars that I found him. Totally recommend him.

I lucked out with chosing Dr. Ficara! I typically ask for referrals but I «blindly» chose Dr. Ficara off my health insurance provider list. I did something to my neck over the weekend which caused a ²⁴⁄₇ headache and pain that pulled from between my shoulder blades, to my neck to the head. Since I was newly pregnant, I wasn’t taking any ibuprofin, excedrin, etc. I called first thing Monday morning and he fit me in for the following morning.
He made me feel comfortable immediately, listened intently and was able to hone in on the problem with his fingertips immediately. He also described, in detail with a skeleton & some diagrams, what was causing the pain. I really appreciated learning what was actually causing the problem. Throughout the treatment, he would also tell me what he was doing… which continued to show his thoroughness and ability to help the patient feel at ease. The best part is I had immediate relief! He gives you «homework», that is, he will show you a few exercises you should do to maintain treatment before your next appointment. I saw him 2x a week for 1 or 2 weeks then tapered to once a week for a few weeks. When I tweaked my neck again, I, without hesitation, was back in his office.
I also had peace of mind knowing he had 20 years experience as a chiropractor and I was not surprised to learn, he was a science teacher prior to his Chiropractic career. He loves science and teaching which suits him very well in his chosen path to help patients. Finally, he has a great bedside manner which in these stressful times and when you are in pain, is just nice to have when you are being treated under a Dr’s care.
I would, without any hesitation, highly recommend Dr. Ficara to any patient.
