Shakey’s Pizza Parlor

Once upon a time in Chicago about 30 years ago we had Shakey’s Pizza in the southwest suburbs where I grew up. Many children of my era grew up with the tastes of the pizza, chicken and potatoes found on Shakey’s buffet, or ordered for consumption at home. So visiting this location in LA was like a trip back to my childhood. And the fact that I was able to visit during happy hour and take advantage of some discounted pricing made it even better. Stay you, Shakey’s. Good stuff.

I came here with a friend for the lunch buffet, and being from Michigan, I have seen my fair share of Pizza buffet restaurants. I will gladly say that this has taken first place on my list of best buffets ever. Great selection, great quality, and friendly staff. My only complaint is that the lunch buffet isn’t on the weekends.

Last night we went out to Shakey’s pizza on 7001 Santa Monica Blvd about 6:45, We Enjoyed the food we had a good time. About 8:15 we started to smell something We looked around we did see any one cleaning. At 8:19 we had to RUN out due to Toxic was to harsh around eating area I got a strong headec, the worker told us that they are cleaning in the kitchen. After we left we saw other family’s leave.

Who doesn’t love Shakey’s? Shakey’s is always on point. The location is always clean, not many games but that’s cool too because what they do have is great. Ball anyone?
Staff is extremely nice. They are quick and my last visit (1÷6÷16) the gentleman was very attentive and offered us items that weren’t on the table when we sat like jalapeños and ranch, which was nice. I needs mah ranch.
I have been to this location several times and every time I come I have only 1 complaint, iced tea. Their iced tea is TERRIBLE. It is watered down and has a funny aftertaste. I just don’t understand how you can mess up iced tea. It’s always a let down because I don’t like soda or sweet tea so I’m left with water… ewwwww. Water and pizza? Not that great.
Don’t get me wrong the food is always delicious, hot and fresh but it sucks that I don’t get to enjoy my favorite drink along side my favorite food.

I’m seriously in love with the lunch buffet. For less than $ 10 you can have a variety of items to choose from for lunch. At first I was only in the mood for a salad and pizza. I wasn’t aware of the rest of the buffet line. When I spotted the fried chicken, pasta, baked potatoes, veggies, etc… it was like heaven. Totally forgot about the pizza.
A lot to choose from at the salad bar. Just depends what you want. I was after the pasta salad more than anything else.
There’s no specific waiter. They’ll just pick up your plates as you go through them. The front cashier was very pleasant. Then checked up on me while I was eating. Guess he does rounds when no customers are walking in.
Parking shouldn’t be any issue. Only problem is the one side for both entering and exiting the parking lot. Can be terrible when there’s traffic on Santa Monica Blvd.

I have Been here a few times. The staff is friendly and courteous. Except the last time I was in my experience was great! The lady wearing the blouse, I assume is the manager is awesome! Upon arriving she heard my friend mention that I’m a vegetarian, and before I had the chance to ask her for a veggie pizza she was on it. I was amazed and not only that when the pizza was out of the oven someone brought it to my table! So I’ll definitely will be coming pack to this location!

You just can’t go wrong with Shakey’s. Bunch-​A-​lunch buffet is always great. There veggies are always fresh. Good variety if pizzas. Plenty of T.V.‘s around the whole place. They keep this place clean all the time. I’ve always liked it, since I was a kid.

This was my first visit to this location and it was one of the best I have had. Our cashier was Jaime and he was kind, patient, professional, and always kept his smile. It’s rare when you find an eating establishment and the staff have genuine smiles on there face. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a delicious meal and kind, genuine, and friendly customer service.

Great spot for quick cheap pizza. It’s not gourmet, but great taste at a great price at a great time.

The best shakey’s in the valley. The food is always good, service is very friendly, with a decent wait time food (for it to be done right). They also recently remodel, and it looks great!!! I am from winnetka but this is worth the drive for a wonderful cheat day. :)

I was in the neighborhood and suddenly I got hungry. My other choices were 7 – 11, Target or Subway but none of those seemed appetizing. 7 – 11 for Dinner? Target? What do they even sell? Subway??? A sandwich, really? I started thinking, «where… where?» then it hit me… SHAKEY’S… Pizza, Chicken and Mojo’s, why not? So I headed there.
It was Monday around 9:30 pm. The place was empty, just 2 other guys eating pizza and me newly arriving. Victor the cashier took my order, but he was so slow and weary that I had to motion myself to the register. No greeting, no smile, he just stood behind the register waiting for me to greet and welcome myself. «Is this where I order?» I asked him, «Yeah…» he answered in a very low and tiresome voice. It seemed like I interrupted his closing duties and now my interruption was going to delay him a little longer at closing time, so he wasn’t in a very enthusiastic mood to serve me. Well I won’t punish him for that, but the greeting and smile should be on at all times even if you’re tired and want to go home. The smile remains until the doors are locked.
Well I won’t bore you with the details of the food… The Pizza, Chicken and Mojo Potatoes were good, it was what I was in the mood for so I wasn’t disappointed.
Fernando the waiter there tonight is pleasant, friendly and attentive. Ready to help you with anything you ask. I can just imagine how helpful and happy he is when the place is packed. It’s employees like him that make me wish I had a Restaurant so I could steal him over to my shop. He is that good, I love him.
The rest room is large, clean and neatly supplied. Large parking lot. Lot’s of TV’s on the walls showing all kinds of sports. The place is large and clean. A salad bar is available. Free refills on fountain drinks and the most important thing… THEY HAVE PEPSI !!!
The Pizza was good, Fernando is great plus a cool refreshing Pepsi… Woohoo! This should be 5 stars because it’s as good as it gets!

This place has to have one of the nastiest salad bars I ever been around! It’s filled with fruit flys. It’s disgusting. The beer taps are also covered in fruit flys. Why doesn’t LA have a health inspector???

The worst manager ever – he ran and chased me at the parking lot because I ordered thighs instead of a mixed chicken and he had to add $ 0.25 cents more!

Love this place. I’ve been coming here for decades with my friends. Food is great and the parking is a cinch.

This Shakes is the best. I know of a lot of people who hate on shakes. But I have no clue why. They have a great selection of food and beer. Plus they have arcades and lots of tvs for watching sport games.
Their lunch special is the best. For 10 bucks you get all you can eat. They have pizza with various toppings, pasta, fried chicken, and a crazy salad bar. I Love this place! Coming back all day!!!

I had a rehearsal for my play but because of a prior engagement I was already around the area 2hours earlier. With no intention of going back and forth from home to my rehearsal during rush hour I decided to slip in here and kill some time.
The place is way more spacious than it appears to be from the outside. It wasn’t crazy busy which was fine with me.
I ordered a combo including a two topping small pizza, a drumstick/​thigh of fried chicken and some legendary mojo potatoes for less than $ 9.
I work at a pretty popular pizza/​bar place so believe me, this was a great deal and the quality was on point. I didn’t feel sick after wards and I was satisfyingly full. Plus the game was on and I got to lay low for a hour before my engagement. As I was leaving it started getting more busy for dinner time.
I will definitely want to use this place for quiet meetings or medium sized get togethers. A solid pizza parlor is timeless.

Great options. Personal pizza very filling. Buffet tons of options! Tons of parking. Consistent good taste & courteous staff. They play big sporting events on huge screen. Cheap!!!

We were in the mood for pizza and I have never tried out this place so I was like why not. Got here around 8:30pm on a Tuesday night– empty.
We ordered a large pizza, half Firehouse and half Shakey Special (thin crusted) with a medium pizza with pineapple followed by a brownie sundae. (For the record I like the Shakey Special more. It’s got more flavour and zing.)
Pizza was delicious! Didn’t take too long to make, but then again it felt like it cause we were all hungry haha. Buuuuttt– It wasn’t too flavorful, and there was a decent amount of meat on them. Might have been better if it was pan.
I absolutely loved just having a pineapple pizza though haha. It’s like a dessert pizza!
The brownie sundae was absolutely delicious! For $ 1.50 you get a cup of vanilla ice cream, with a whole brownie (cut up) and whipped cream with some chocolate syrup/​sauce. I think the brownie is from Ralph’s because it tastes similar, but anyways, $ 1.50 is such a good deal for that!
Definitely will be coming back for more. They have this enormous salad bar that looks really intriguing. And chicken wings.

We come to this Shakey’s every year after the Hollywood Christmas Parade. I love it here. The food is great. I especially love the Mexican Fiesta Pizza with chorizo and jalapenos… yum! The chicken is always juicy and the mojos are delicious as well. They have a nice salad bar and a really nice arcade for the kids to play and win prizes.
Mmmm… now I’m craving pizza!
