This place never misses the mark. They got some bomb hotdogs with chili. But what makes they really worth visiting is their garlic fries. Freshly cut potato fries with their special sauce and loaded with garlic.

My go-to order is the Garlic Hotdog with Garlic Fries. The hotdog used to have garlic pieces in it, but now it just comes with garlic sauce. It’s still good but it was better before. Bring the garlic pieces back! Today I asked if there’s a check-in discount. The answer is no. There is however a local discount to which I showed proof of my LA address but apparently«local» means Hollywood area only. Parking, unsurprisingly, is a B to find. But their food is worth having, sober or not sober. Also good lemonade.

Small little place. No indoor seating its pretty close to a hot dog stand. 4.50 for the regular plain hot dog. I think I will stick to making them at home. Hot dog is served in Hawaiian bread. Tried the chili cheese fries, chili didn’t really have much flavor. It will do in a pinch as most small joints on the Hollywood Strip.

A hot dog served on toasted Hawaiian rolls. What’s not to love? I had the bacon cheese hot dog. My favorite thing about it was the cheese wasn’t melted on the hot dog. It was just sitting nice and freshly on top, then on top of that was the bacon. The fries were seasoned great and had a delicious dipping sauce. The dipping sauce was a little spicy, but not too much. The menu is very simple, which I thought was great. There is not a lot of seating so I suggest one person order while the other tries to find seats. I’m really regretting not getting the fresh lemonade. Can’t wait to come back and try the chili dog!

Nice little hot dog place on Hwood Blvd. There’s space to order and place condiments on your dog inside but not much else. There are a few stools out front which look like they could fill up fast. I got the chili cheese dog and lemonade. The chili was the good ground up meat kind that looks like it came out of a can. I appreciate this kind of chili for my hot dogs. If I want a bowl of chunky chili that’s one thing, this chili is designed to slather over a dog. The counter guy was nice enough. Didn’t go out of his way to be personable but wasn’t rude either. Looking back I wish he had led some guidance because my friends and I may have paid around the same for a dog and beverage that we would have for some sort of combo. It looks like he just wanted to take the money and serve the dog. My biggest beef is that we ordered chili cheese dogs and there was barely any recognizable cheese. There were a few cheese flakes by the end of the dog and I’d say they put it under the chili to hide how little they provide so it was fairly disappointing. If I had not seen the couple flecks of cheese by the end of the dog then I would have said that I just ate a chili dog. No cheese flavor or texture to be found. They serve the dogs on the Hawaiian buns so chalk one up for the planning department even if the execution is lacking.

There is nothing in the world I love more than thin double cheeseburgers on a flat iron grill with grilled onions and american cheese. Not kidding. I LOVE my burgers made that way! They are the perfect. Maybe I will try a chili dog next time. But I love the burger a lot!

There is nothing in the world I love more than the way Skooby’s makes their burgers. Not kidding. Thin burger patties(2 of them) cooked on a flat iron grill, topped with american cheese and grilled onion. I LOVE my burgers made that way! They are the perfect. Maybe I will try a chili dog next time. But I love the burger a lot!

Not bad not bad! First time here and it’s what you would expect. It’s a hot dog joint that sells lemonade also. I got the skooby original with a lemonade. If you buy a lemonade, all the hot dogs become about $ 4.25 with the price of the lemonade. It’s their combo special. The hot dog buns are dinner rolls stuck together but it works. No complaints.

Disappointingly basic, especially for the price. $ 10 for 2 basic hot dogs, no sides. For being only a hot dog/burger place, you’d think it’d be pretty good and better than a street cart. Not so. You’re better off with gas station food or a 711. Came out cold, items aren’t really specialty or unique. I’d pass

Come here. Make a trip out of it. Don’t go to Pinks. The food is amazing. I heard the cheeseburger is really good but I had to try the hot dog. Oh and definitely get the Works Fries, they pretty much refine INO’s animal style fries to another level.

Not a bad place to catch a hot dog on the Hollywood strip. The dogs are quality and the prices are not outrageous.

Jalapeño cheese dog was amazing! The jalapeños were actually spicy and the service was very efficient. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I’m really picky about my fries and I loved Skooby’s fries. The dip for the fries is just awesome as well.

Quite possibly the best hot dog in all of Southern California? I think so. You are going to see this review and possibly wonder how this place compares with other highly rated hot dog establishments such as Pinks or Doghaus(and maybe even Costco hotdogs?)… well wait no more, here are my thoughts on each: Pinks: great place to go if you want to wait a 30 minute line and see a C-list celebrity. Doghaus: not bad at all, but their hotdog game isn’t up to snuff. Costco: minus the free drink, you are pretty much paying for a hotdog that was modeled after the same hot dogs we had in grade school(in a bad way). Skoobys has always been consistent in what I call the fast food trifecta: 1. Service is always on point(little — no waiting) 2. Food is always great 3. Prices are awesome This is my go-to spot for a quick bite or if I need to load up before a night on the town. You gotta try the bacon cheese dog, you won’t be disappointed.

A must go to place if you are craving hot dogs, fries, and some good chili. You won’t be disappointed. Not sure if the guy who took my order is the owner but he was very friendly and he entertained me while I waited for my food. A+

I think it’s better than Pink’s(gasp), but admittedly has less variety. But, every single item on their simple menu is delicious. Their hot dogs and fries both have that texture and taste that tell you they are made by someone who knows what they are doing. For a quick bite in Hollywood, their chili dog and lemonade can’t be beat.

Eat It OR Beat It? **EATIT!!** Skooby’s is the SPOT on Hollywood Blvd! It’s not Pink’s but without a line and awesome fries and simple hot dogs, I love it! It’s always tempting not to stop by this place to split a quick hot dog with some friends. Prices are great, hot dogs are delicious, EATIT!

Walking with a friend around Hollywood and decided to stop in for a quick bite. I ordered the Cheeseburger and my friend ordered the Bacon Cheese Hot Dog. We shared some Garlic Fries and ordered a couple of their famous lemonade. The place is a bit small but the service was quick and they had very friendly staff. We sat at the tables out front where you can watch traffic on Holloywood Blvd. My cheeseburger was awesome! It was served on a Hawaiian bun with onions and a secret sauce that was incredible. My friend complemented the Bacon Cheese hot dog too served on a Hawaiian bun. The lemonade was nice and sweet and the fries were cooked perfectly. Nice and golden brown covered in garlic. If you want a quick bite to eat while strolling Hollywood I definitely recommend stopping by.

Love this place! Lately I’ve been ordering the bacon cheese dog and it’s AMAZING. The food here is so good every time I come. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The vibes are pretty chill and the employees are really cool too! They’re all so friendly here! And not to mention the music selection is always great! My girlfriend and I always bring someone new with us every time we come. Even the cashier remembers our order! Lol definitely recommend this place! It’s the best!

I love hot dogs and this is a good spot. I happen to be in the area and I decided to let my oldest Unilocal anything he was craving and of course he chooses chili dogs and fries. Skooby’s pops up and we head over there and we find out that it is right in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. We found some street parking because a nice guy gave me his spot with an hour and a half remaining. When we reached the location we come to realize that it is a small spot enough room for about 8 people to stand in line to order. They have a small menu and an equally sized counter to place your order. My kids ordered three chili dogs and side of garlic fries. Of course my older kids could eat two chili dogs and their own order of fries from this place but this was a quick snack stop not a full on meal because we were going to a BBQ. That being said the hotdogs left my 10 and 11 year old asking for more. They really enjoyed it and we were able to grab a bite from the youngest and the combination of the Hawaiian roll with their chili was really tasty. Also we almost lost a finger trying to grab a fry or two. The garlic was not to overpowering and the right amount of salt. This is really a hidden gem in an area that is filled with a ton of walk up options. I feel bad for all the tourist that probably walk by every day missing this tasty bite.

My heart is broken. I visited my favorite place only to learn it is no longer my favorite. I don’t know if the new management changed the hot dogs but mine was tiny and seemed non existent. The fries are no longer fresh cut and in an amazing seasoning, but instead frozen and has some weird seasoning. Somehow bacon and cheese covered fries lacked flavor. The aioli is not aioli anymore, I don’t know what that was but you might as well not have it because it will only upset the old regulars. The days of the combo are over, now just higher prices for less quality. I really enjoyed coming here after a hard day, a treat to go, but I don’t think I’ll be back, it’s just not worth the prices, and it breaks my heart.

Probably the best hot dog and fries I’ve ever had. The food was super affordable, easily under $ 10 a person and really quite good. Portions are a little small bit satisfying. The works fries have a little bit of everything and reminds me of animal fries from in n out burger. Limited seating is really the only negative. Not a huge deal but all seats are on the busy walk of fame. Overall a good experience.

I’ve had a couple of hot dogs since I’ve been in LA but I think Skooby’s tops them all so much that I headed back for a second visit. I’m not a person to eat at places twice so trust me in saying that this place is good. I personally thing that it’s the bun that makes this dog stand out from the rest in town. It’s soft, slightly toasted and a strange, rectangular shape that makes the toppings, sauce and dog not tumble out of the bun. The staff are kind of straight-talking with minimal chat and customer service which threw me. I asked if I could charge my phone and the chap looked at me plainly, without any expression and said«sure» whilst robotically holding out his hand. On my first visit I had a plain hotdog and the second time a chilli cheese dog which were both made within minutes in front of me. You’re given the choice of approximately 24 free toppings from sauces to stuff like onions and pickles There’s a couple of inside seats and about three different stools outside that were wobbly and felt like you were dining slap bang in the middle of the street. The place also blasts 90’s hip-hop music giving it a retro feel. My advice? Get a combo meal to go(dog, fries and the best lemonade in town for about $ 9) and take a stroll along the Walk of Fame).

Great chili cheese dogs and the fries are delish. Get the lemonade, it’s homemade, sweet and tart! This place is on Hollywood and Cherokee. Parking can be a pain and eating on Hollywood Blvd. is a bit gross but it’s kind of worth it. They use toasted Hawaiian buns. Their dogs have a snap and the chili is a lot better than Tommy’s. Price is a little higher. Hot dog range from 4.50−6, which is a lot for a hot dog, but it is a tasty dog made with fresh ingredients.

Warning! Skooby’s is under new ownership and the new owners decided to drastically cut corners with the food quality that once made this place special. The amazing fries, which were lovingly made to order from whole potatoes, fried in peanut oul, and tossed in a unique and tasty spice blend? –Gone! The new owners decided to forgo the French fry fuss and use the generic frozen variety you can find at any third-rate burger stand, undercook them in cheap oil and unceremoniously dust them with ordinary salt. What about the phenomenal roasted red bell pepper garlic aioli that accompanied each order of fries? Gone! Here they have employed some sick subterfuge. An orange hued sauce with a nearly identical appearance of the once great aioli has been substituted. What about the taste? Exactly as I’d imagine the most inexpensive canned thousand island would taste. Sneaky and sad, Skooby’s. :( What about the perfectly balanced lemonade that left pulp in your teeth and was squeezed daily from visible crates of fresh lemons stacked just to the right of the entrance as you walked in? Gone! The new owners decided to go with artificial lemon-flavored drink. The hot dog itself was dry and old and unsurprisingly of a poorer quality than before – with no more natural casing. The only thing that seemed the same was the bun. But even that was slightly stale. Skoobys was amazing once. My first Unilocal review was a five star review raving about them shortly after they first opened and they had been a happy occasional indulgence ever since. As of this review, their website still touts what are now lies about fresh squeezed lemonade, hand chopped potatoes, and top quality franks in natural casings. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the once great Skooby’s is dead. I feel bad for the new owners who I believe are immigrants, but they have made a terrible mistake.

So disappointed. Convinced my friend to go here than Pink’s hot dogs. Came here couple years ago and I remember this place being so bomb. Not anymore :(I tried it today and the only thing that made the hot dog special was the Hawaiian bread idea. You can basically make this at home with the ingredients on the menu. Bacon cheese fries had so little bacon and the fries were okay. Not that great. The onion dog had so little grilled onions, at least put more onions on if It’s a little more expensive than just the original dog. I won’t be coming back to this place. So expensive compared to what I ordered.

Ok, The lemonade is good. You will leave this place smelling like all they are cooking inside. I usually order my food, then head down the street and come back because«THEGREASEISINTHEAIR». You want to go with chilli cheese fries and the Hot dog as it’s on a sweet bun. I think they have combo for like 8 bucks. You want to go to this place like once every 10 years, it’s pretty bad on your health. Please expect, poor service and values when going here. Their sauces have that hard shell(you know like when you keep mustard in the fridge and you have that hard shell that forms from it being cold, and you have to remove to make the mustard come out? Well all of their sauces have that shell type coating. It’s a hot mess and not really a go to for lunch. But like I said the lemonade is good.

Hot dog — 3 stars Philly cheesesteak fries — 2 stars The hot dog was alright, but to be honest as a whole a dirty dog off the street is better. The Philly cheesesteak fries were such a let down, they were pretty much a huge over seasoned, yet lacking flavor, pile of overcooked junk. I had high hopes going into it, but I’d never consider ordering them again. I don’t like how the topping were presented, you can tell who ever prepared the onions gave zero care about it, just huge chunks of onion in a little toppings dish. Onions should be chopped in small portions when paired with hot dogs. My honest opinion is this place CAN be great, but I got the vibe from the people working there that they were pretty much giant stoners with zero care in the world, let me get my paycheck and go home kinda attitude that is clearly present in the way things were.
