I wanted to give this place more stars just based on the customer service my waiter Johnny gave us but the actual food was a bit disappointing. I had a nice dinner with a friend in which we decided splurge for the night. So we ordered a bottle of Saki TyKu which was not on the menu and apparently the«only» Saki they had. We also ordered several appetizers and beef and broccoli to split with dinner along with fried rice. The crab rangoon was probably the best thing we had. The sushi was just average. The beef and broccoli was a huge disappointment. The beef was a little fatty and tasted more like something you would get from that Chinese take out place down the street. I guess it was really just ambience we paid for.

I’m shocked at the bad reviews Tatu got. I went in December for my birthday, wanting to try something different. First off, I love the Seminole Hard Rock, so I was intrigued to go. Absolutely loved the sushi & food! I will say, if you’re looking for something quick, this is not the place to go. It’s built around ambiance & presentation of the food. I really liked how I felt like I was back in Las Vegas, not Hollywood, FL lol! The only complaints I have is the restaurant is dark, so I ran into the wall a few times, and there’s a bathroom attendant that shows you empty stalls but expects a tip. Don’t mean to be rude, but you didn’t offer a breath mint or something to deserve a tip.

Despite all of the warnings about horrible service, my husband was craving sushi so we went to Tatu before a comedy show at the Hard Rock. We had made reservations, so although others were waiting, we were seated right away. Our server promptly welcomed us and we ordered rum and cokes and the dumplings as our appetizer. About 10 minutes later our appetizer came out; however, we still didn’t have our drinks. Our waitress came over and said that the bar still didn’t have our drinks ready(strike 1). About 5 minutes after we finished our appetizer(yes, we’re at about 30 minutes now), we finally received our drinks. They were decent pours, but at that point we really would have drank anything. At this point we had already ordered our food and shortly after receiving our drinks, my husband asked for a second drink since he knew how long it would take to get. Long story short, it took another 30 minutes to get a second drink, conveniently this was right before the check came out. They also brought us 2 drinks instead of 1, so we thought maybe this was their apology, but no the bill charged us for 4 drinks. We wanted to dispute it with the waitress, but after 10 minutes of not finding her we decided to forget about and write a review on Unilocal instead of fighting it. Although we were happy with our meal, it definitely wasn’t extraordinary for the high prices they charge. Lastly, we never got any cotton candy that everybody else raved about :(

Food: Not tasty, Sushi bar was not well stocked and I was not confident in how fresh it was. They were out of the octopus on a Saturday. Price: Expensive for the quality. Service: Not impressed. Drinks: $ 12 or $ 15 for a watered down Apple Martini. That was very disappointing. I am not sure why restaurant owners do this. I hope this review helps with letting them know that work is needed. Beautiful restaurant though. If they could get the food right they could make a killing.

The service was great, however, the food situation was very unusual. We ordered sautéed veggies, the came back and said they were all out. Then we ordered sushi rolls and they didn’t have ginger. The rolls fell apart when you ate them. They were way overpriced. The server indicated that Saturdays are so busy that they always run out of food for Sunday. You’d think they would increase the amount of food they order.

I decided I wanted to have my birthday dinner here. Had their food before and loved it. I was a little concerned about a large party accommodation but when I called before I was assured it would be OK. Some of my party did get there late so there was a delay with seating. Our fault. Finally we were seated and we were fortunate to be a bit separate from the rest of the restaurant as we were sitting by the low tables. I knew our server was in for a long night with so many people. But he was pleasant and very helpful to the people who had never eaten there before. The food comes in almost family style portions so we were all able to share the food around the table. For a busy night it did not take that long for us to get served with drinks or with food. The food was very tasty and I especially liked the after dinner snack of cotton candy. The prices were OK. Really not too expensive especially for the amount of food we were served. I would return for sure!

Some of our food was great. Unfortunately that was the only great part of our experience. Bad service. Bathroom toilet leaking(from the bottom thank god) so when I walked in my shoes were covered. And the second restroom I went into was dirty. Credit card machines weren’t working so it was cash only. They were out of two dishes we ordered– and we were informed after we ordered. i.e. the server didn’t know what the kitchen was and was not serving. And our 4 apps and 4 drinks totaled $ 120. $ 120 is worth it for a wonderful experience, even a good experience, not for what we experienced. Best dish we tried– the soft shell crab sushi.

The food and atmosphere are good. It is a little pricey for Chinese /Japanese fusion but it seems like a classy place. Went on a date and we both had good things to say. ONEMAJORGRIPE: I called to make reservations and specifically requested an outdoor table. We get to check in and hostess says they are overwhelmed outside with only one waiter. I don’t see how that was a problem considering that WASWHAT I RESERVED!!! Another gentleman raises his bandaged hand and states it’s ok, we’ll seat you out there and ill bear it and serve you. I spared his kind gesture and settled for an indoor table with service that was sub par anyway that they may as well have sat us outside. On a side note, the bathrooms were really badly maintained. The floors were wet(bad) in 2⁄3 and the third working one had no soap or paper. Considering I paid over $ 100 for Chinese food they could have paid the dishwasher to check on the bathrooms. After dropping a hundo on a meal, I shouldn’t be skeeved out to use the bathroom in the place like it’s some hole in the wall joint. The bottom line is its a nice place, the food is good but they need to get their act together. Props to the damaged waiter that offered to serve us. Nice guy but everyone else sucked. Get your act together Seriously.

Stopped into Tatu late on a Saturday night just looking for a quick drink and sushi roll. It was packed inside, but there were tables outside available right away so we sat down and placed a drink order. Drinks took foreverrrrrrrr… but it was super busy so I’m sure the bar was packed(when I finally got the drink it really wasn’t great either). This did make us nervous about how long the food would take and we mentioned this to the waiter. He said it could be upwards of a half hour or so. We decided to wait it out and ordered a few rolls for the table… we just wanted something a group of us could pick at. To our pleasant surprise the food was out within ten or fifteen minutes. The sushi rolls were about average… nothing too amazing… and definitely a little overpriced, but definitely not bad sushi either. I honestly can’t remember what we ordered so obviously I wasn’t blown away by anything. Other than the drinks taking a long time(which really isn’t the waiters fault if the bar is slow) the service was really good. Despite it being busy I appreciated that the waiter was honest with us about the wait time and he really seemed to care about getting us our food as quickly as possible. As food at the Hard Rock goes, especially along this outside shopping area, I think Tatu is a decent choice… but I wouldn’t come here just to go to Tatu. I also don’t think I would attempt to go on a Saturday night again, too busy for me, but that’s kind of what I signed up for, so I shouldn’t complain.

This place is on a rapid decline, used to be a lot better. *Slow service *Cash only(when I went) *Warm water(for some reason no ice) *All food comes out at different times *Old food\rice wedged in the«clean» forks *Food is luke-warm/cold *Mismatched chairs *Extreme price increase/smaller portions Overall, this place is going down the drain. Not fun anymore, I will not be returning anytime soon if ever at all.

This place is awesome! I love the cotton candy at the end. I am a huge sushi fan and everytime someone comes into town and I need an exciting place to take them, this is my «go-to». The Hard Rock has so much to offer, you can have dinner, see a show, gamble and party to the wee hours. This is just the place I would always choose for dinner. This place has a really cool and sleek vibe, even the bathrooms are cool. I love the girls who are walking around with sake bomb carts! The sake is delicious and sake bombs are always the key to a fun sushi experience. Food: Entrees are huge, we usually order one entrée and two rolls for two of us. Some of my favorites are the Hamachi Jalapeño, Spicy yellowtail roll, pad thai, and all of the sushi. The prices are not that bad!!! You are paying for the experience and ambiance. Food is decent and for under $ 100 but two, its worth it!

After a not so great experience on my previous visit we came last night with out of town relatives. There was 7 of us in our group. My daughter and I arrived early so we went straight to the bar to order their famous Scorpion Bowl, As you can see from the picture it’s huge $ 29 and well worth every sip, The bartender was great and very friendly. The rest of our party arrived and the nice hostess took us to our table, Our relatives loved the décor, Dark, sultry, and very inviting. Our server greeted us and took our drink order, he was fantastic throughout our entire meal. Started with lettuce wraps, calamari salad, & crab rangoons. As usual the food was impressive. The calamari is slightly spicy on a bed of fresh greens, it’s a must to get, so delicious. The main entrees are huge so your best bet is to do family style and share. We had sushi, duck, pad Thai, rice, and Korean noodles. Everything was excellent. The quality of all their food is super fresh, nice presentation, and so flavorful. We had a fabulous dinner and our out of town guest were quite pleased with our choice. Thanks for another fantastic meal and great service!

Tatu is one sweet and sexy restaurant. Sexy because the ambience and surroundings are sleek and contemporary style with dim lighting and high ceilings. I personally like the outside seating because you are overlooking the water fountain and pond. In addition, they have some great big tables for parties of 8 and more. Their sushi is fresh and very good quality. My favorite roll is the hamachi jalapeño, I absolutely love the spice factor of it. If you are thinking of a unique and diversified sushi roll go for the tropical citrus salmon, it’s very different. They have a good selection of Asian entrees as well, but I like their sushi better. In the entrees I recommend the seared Chilean seabass. Tatu is sweet because they give awesome green apple cotton candy at the end of the meal with temporary tattoos. Cotton candy was my favorite dessert as a kid so first time I went to Tatu, I was very excited. They are consistent with their food and menu. Been coming to this restaurant for over 5 years, I wish it was closer for my sushi cravings.

Tasty sushi, hip scene and fun crowd– this place has all the makings of a GREAT evening! Enjoy the shopping and casinos just steps away, but then come here to EAT and IMBIBE! Last time I was here, we were seated next to PITBULL!!! He was so sweet and gracious enough to take some pics with us! UNBELIEVEABLE! MUSTORDER the Hamachi Jalapeño! The balance of tastes in this roll is perfection and unrivaled(despite many attempts to duplicate by other spots!) Definitely pricey for sushi, but you pay for the atmosphere and location. And the company! ;-)

Love the food and drinks, but the service sucks. Every time I come the wait is way over the time they tell me and then the service sucks. But luckily this time for my bornday dinner it was not the case. I had to pull out the ghetto card and make it clear that if you tell me it’s an hour wait do not have me seated 2 hours later! To my surprise I was sat less than the time I was told and my service was ok, better than before. Other than that good food and drinks and love the Japanese flicks they show on the wall

OK so dining options at this hotel are somewhat limited. The only 3 places I will eat [in order of yuminess] are: Council Oak, Martoranos, and Tatu… don’t bother with anything else you will be even less impressed, trust me. Tatu is loud, dark, and a good starting point if you are planning on going to a club afterwards. IT is not an intimate restaurant, don’t go here on a first date, as you won’t be able to hear each other. They also have a large table for special occasions that you have to reserve in advance. It does have a great décor, the bathrooms are bad ass, and the hanging tables are awesome. I have eaten at Tatu at least 10 times and there’s a couple hints I have for you. 1) the fried Calamari salad is legit, get that as an appetizer and share 2) Skip the sushi, it’s not that good – trust me on this 3) order from the entrée menu 4) Hong Kong noodles are for REAL and can be shared by at least by 3 people. Their not stingy with the shrimp in here either 5) sesame chicken-average at best, they have HUGE red HOT peppers in here and b/c it’s dark you might not necessarily know you are about to put the flames of hell in your mouth. One chili will have you spinning for about 5 mins. Not a great way to start a meal. I’d skip this one personally 6) Beef and Broccoli —NOT really Broccoli but rather Broccolini. Believe you me I know the difference. Still pretty tasty

This restaurant is located at the Hard Rock in Hollywood. It is not often that I like to go to Broward but this place may make it worth the trip. I ate here over the weekend with my sister and her friend. One thing that we ordered that was awesome was a tofu appetizer. The tofu was fried and it was very firm. There was a tangy sauce over it. It was really good. I also ate a veggie roll that was very good too. We did not order dessert. I don’t think there was anything even offered that was vegan. They did bring us a huge portion of cotton candy to share. That was nice and I do love cotton candy. Another fun thing they do is give their guests temporary tattoos to take home with what I think is a Chinese symbol for love. The restaurant is nice inside and a fun place to eat. I would go back.

PLEASANTLY surprised. While I HATE everything at this Hard Rock complex(except Murphy’s Law), TATU delivered this night. I went for a birthday celebration. The place has a great design. Dark with individualized treatments per table which help give you a little privacy. Some have chain curtains and all have spotlight lighting. There is one of those cushion floor sitting table areas as well surrounded by a curtain wall. The big screens were playing what seemed to be 80’s Asian films? with backward subtitles? Odd. Something I would change? The 97.3 type of music. YAWN. This place is worthy of a live DJ and some happy dance beats!(kinda like STK). It was so dull. Good thing for our rowdy group or we would have been sleepy by the time we left. The food was pretty good as were the sake and specialty drinks. I will certainly give this place another go in the future if ever forced to go to the Hard Rock again.

A friend and I went here last weekend. It was getting late and we were looking for something to eat. As we we’re heading back to Broward from Miami, we decided to stop at Hardrock to eat at Tatu. We get inside the restaurant and seated within minutes. We sit down and place our order. We got the tofu appetizer, which is HUGE and delicious. I ordered a veggie roll, and my friend order some roll with fish in it. At this time, everything is going great Food is delicious and service is moving quickly. Now we order dessert. We got the fondue. My friend asked about us getting the cotton candy too. The waitress brought that out after we asked for it. When she brought the cotton candy out, she took our fondue. AND we were still eating it! I get that it was late now, but we are still eating. Everything went well until we had to ask for cotton candy and they took our fondue while still eating it. That is why I am bringing them down to three stars instead of five. You don’t take chocolate fondue away from a lady like me. ugh! #fail
