Run down and over priced for singles. At times parking is difficult. Over run by kids. Not for adults without children. Staff mediocre except if you are a kid.

i have been a member of the ymca since 1995 and all i can say is things have changed and noit for the better. the ymca seems to be focused on children only and their needs. yes the exercise room is nice but i really enjoy doing my laps. the pool is occupied by the childrens swim practice on mon to thurs from 5 – 7:30 pm and there are only 2 lanea open for us swimmers. good luck with that; i ususally have to wait an hour. to block off so many lanes for that long a duration of time is ridiculous. maybe swim practice for an hour not two and a half. also their faciliti hours are ridiculous. they cut off at 5:00 pm when in the summer hours they should open a little later maybe 7:00 am and close at 7:00 pm so members could enjoy and relax. the rates have just gone up to $ 72 a month for family memberships which is getting pretty high. they took the area where the seniors congregate and cut it off and gave them a small space outside of subway because after all it is beneficial to the y for monetary purposes; the seniors who are mostly there on silver sneakers and other such programs are not bringing in the bucks that subway is. my husband loves ping pong and they got rd of one of the tables so good luck on getting a game. it lost the wonderful atmosphere it once had and has become like all of the other gyms; just a money making proposition.

Great place to come for families but the focus here is quanity not quality. Management’s sole objective is to cram as many members into this place as possible. All of the exercise classes are taught by the same instructors over and over again so there is no variety. Spinning classes are mostly hip hop music and they fired the few good instructors they have that play rock. Forget about using the pool because it’s always full of kids unless it’s closed due to a potty incident. And the last straw, they took out the whirlpools and gave some lame excuse about insurance. Best bet, work out elsewhere.
