Maple Leaf Gardens

Maple Leaf Gardens is a great place to buy anything to spruce up the proverbial yard. I’ve purchased trees, shrubs, flowers, kale, cabbage and knick knacks. The employees can spend as much time as needed, if you ask, and all you have to do is ask, because they’ll help you. They have an incredible amount of property, so you can find trees and shrubs to plant a forest if needed. Nice place, nice people and great prices compared to Casola’s across the street.

My wife and I went in over the weekend to by some fall decorations and mums. Our total purchase was over $ 100.00 which included (9) mums (3 for $ 10) and a variety of fall decorations. The staff was very nice.
We went immediately home and put out the decorations. One of them (a metal decorative sun flower type ornament) had broken due to a weak soldered joint at the neck of the plant head. It looked like as if the head broke off once before and was glued back into place. Regardless, we weren’t worried because we knew we could bring it back and exchange it.
Within an hour of purchasing it, we want back to the store, and spoke to the owners youngest son who was working the counter. We explained and grabbed a new one. At that time the oldest son asked us to wait and went looking for the Manager. He came back and said, «I’m sorry but if you want a new one, we will have to charge you full price.» Cleary that wasn’t going to happen so I asked for the manager. He said «there isn’t any manager here.» I explained that he can’t just sell me a defective item and expect me to be ok with that. At that time, the Manager walked up (I assume it was his mother) and asked what was the issue. Once we explained, she agreed that we should get new one.
Issue I have here, is if they allow their son’s to work the front desk, they need to educate them a bit more. If the mother didn’t walk up, I’m sure i would have left and NEVER returned. As of now, I would shop there again.

Maple Leaf Gardens, BEWARE! I saw the signs for 48 flowers for 8.99 a great price for annuals so I bought 10 flats of them for my yard, got them home and the plants were nice… HOWEVER, I have the photos there were only 32 plants in each flat, even though all the signs said 48. I feel like I got shorted 160 plants. I called, and left 3 messages for someone to call me back, I have photos of the trays, and of the individual pots in the trays, and all their signs that show 48 plants for 8.99. NOTHING not a word from them, I even told them I would call in a complaint to the county weights and measures board, yet not a call back and I left 3 messages. I’m filing the complaint today!
