Barefoot Tiki Bar and Cafe

While on vacation a few of us wanted to visit a local bar to hang out. I passed the Tiki Bar on our way onto the Island and knew I wanted to go back for a visit.
My group arrived on a Friday night around 8. The place was pretty relaxed. There was a band on the stage and a few tables finishing up with meals. We were greeted and given permission to sit anywhere. I grabbed a picnic table near the back (close to the ring toss) and was ready for a fun night.
Our server, Kelsea, came over to greet us. She was super friendly and could tell we had never been there before-​I guess we looked like tourists! She explained the food menu and offered us some suggestions, but we weren’t looking to eat. We just wanted to enjoy a few drinks and listen to the music.
Since we don’t get Yuengling in MO I opted to share a pitcher with the group. We had a pitcher brought out pretty quickly and Kelsea left us to it. She would come by from time to time to check in on us, but we weren’t in need of too much. She kept the pitchers coming and was pretty fun to talk with about the island. I asked about taking a taxi back to out condo, but she gave us the number for the «Monkey Bus» instead! I’ll write a review on that later.
We played some ring toss and took some fun pictures of the night. Overall, it was a good time and very chill. Exactly what we needed. Next time I’m in the area I will go back !

Great place with pool tables, corn hole, and live music. Wait staff is nice and they have more than beer and wine (frozen drinks — margaritas and flavored daiquiris). Only downfall — you’re allowed to smoke.

After reading the reviews, I was really skeptical of Barefoot, but we had a great time there. There is no table service and it’s open seating. You order drinks and food at the counter. A food runner brings your food. We ordered fish tacos and they were pretty good, standard pub fare, nothing gourmet. We stuck with beer, which was reasonably priced. We found the entire place clean and friendly. The bartender, Corey, asked if everything was okay when I came up to order a second round and he said to be sure to let him know if we needed anything. Very casual, beach fun. Band was awesome!

When we visited, it was an older crowd and some slower live music. We were hoping for a more upbeat place, so we only had one drink and left. I’ve never had an «entertainment surcharge» per drink before (50 cents per drink due to their being entertainment I guess) so that was a surprise. Also one of the many places on the island that only serve wine and beer (and «wine based liquor»).

Great place! ! Cool tiki bar atmosphere. Live music and no cover charge makes it a great place to stop in for some food and drink anytime. Friendly staff and management. The corn hole games and ring game keep you entertained. The food is great as well. The ribs and barbecue are slow cooked, tender, and delicious.

Literally just had the worst experience there. Drinks are slightly overpriced vs some reputable gulf front locations. They probably were in a bidding war with a u park company when they bought the lot. Concrete paradise a few blocks from the water. Looks good from the street. Fried shrimp was acceptable. Service was terrible. In particular the manager whom was a rooster looking lady was beyond offensive. Criticized the mess my kids made which was literally two French fries and a beer I accidentally spilled :(. Very passive aggressive about the whole thing. I spent $ 80 on a few drinks etc. paid and then decided to buy two more drinks and the owner said it was annoying that they had to pay a service charge twice on my credit card purchase! On an island with such wonderful people and restaurants this place won’t last. If I wanted to spend a hundred bucks on a brutal customer service experience I’d order cable.

Love the atmosphere and a great place to relax. Food was amazing and was impressed with the friendly staff.

STAY AWAY! The bartenders really take «island time» to the max. We waited over 10 minutes for a beer when the placed was not at all busy. Your «kitchen» was closed and couldn’t give me a basket of chips and salsa while at the same time we couldn’t bring in pizza in from Dominos. Glad our large party of paying customers took ourselves to better bars after. Oh and they don’t have free refills on fountain pop.

Met with a large group of friends like we we do every year for a spring break get together, at first glance, this location looks like a perfect island tiki bar, that however was very short lived by the worst bar tenders I’ve encountered in a long time! Owner was very unaccommidating also, prices are on the high side and service is beyond subpar. Do yourself a favor and take yourself and friends and your money somewhere else that is more deserving and will appreciate it!

Well, we love this place. great Tiki bar atmosphere if that’s what you enjoy. Entertainment was good, drinks somewhat pricey, but all in all, a fun place to stop and enjoy the island ambience. If your looking for fine dining, or great food, go somewhere else. This is a Barefoot Tiki Bar, at its best. Relax and enjoy, Island Time. at its best.

Their drink menu had been updated since many of these comments. Margaritas, Daiquiris and other island drinks can now be had. Food was cheap for most places on the island. The fish tacos have a good amount of fish. More than I’ve had at many other places. The food takes awhile but the great atmosphere and live music make it bearable.

I usually don’t like fish tacos, but these were very good. The service was a little slow, but the food was good. The outdoor atmosphere is what I want on a nice December night. I’m from Ohio and really don’t want to be inside listening to a jukebox. This place had Eric Von. Nothing more needs to be said. Absolutely fantastic experience.

Ordered margaritas. was told they only serve beer and wine, but that she make a great wine based margarita. so we went for it. True, it was good, but lacked alchohol and still cost $ 7.50 each.
Then we ordered the Pulled Pork sandwich with cole slaw, It was the size of a slider — about three inches around AND THE COLE SLAW WASN’T A SIDE! The ‘coleslaw’ was a teaspoon, if that, INSIDE the bun on a tablespoon of pulled pork. WOW. Tiny little turd of a sandwich, people!
15 $ in drinks that weren’t ‘real’ drinks and another $ 15 in pulled pork micro sandwiches?
Nope. NEVER again.

Fun Tiki bar with live music, good sized pours, and the owners John and Nicole are super welcoming, the clientele seem to be a mix of friendly locals and vacationers. They are dog friendly, and have lots or water bowls for the pups. We Only tried a few appetizers but they were all very good for bar food.

My mom and I stumbled onto this place while waiting for the Anna Maria Island shuttle to come by, so we decided to kill some time with a couple of drinks. There were several bars to choose from and the woman who served us our drinks was very friendly and funny. We enjoyed our drinks while lounging in some comfy Adirondack chairs and taking turns swinging around in a hammock chair. There was an AWESOME band playing and people were dancing and the atmosphere of the place in general was just really fun and «beachy» — will definitely stop in if I’m in the area again!

Bartenders are moody. We paid $ 30 for 4 mixed drinks and then asked for water. The female bartender with dreds popped attitude about «free water».

Under construction new bar at the side just opened going to be great little more refined… felt like we were away somwhere exoctic esp with the curtains blowing

The wine list needs serious help the food is awful not worth talking about.
I expect this will all be taken care of as time goes on. maybe better to wait till the ducks all line up before you open ???

Great place to waste a evening. .Island style … nice people good live music… saw live blue grass Sycamore Shade… great wine a New Zealand white… various small batch beers available as well
