Disorganized organization. My son is in the basketball team for the ymca. Having to observed they have no coach several times when I’ve taken my son for practice and your paying for is unprofessional. They don’t contact you to save you the time and the drive to inform you of the cancellation. At times, the coach arrives 20 min to 30 min late. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Very discouraged from my end. I expected a whole lot more. Even parents start arguing and cursing in front of children.

The YMCA is changing, finally listening to its members, bathrooms are now clean and even the main classroom floor is being cleaned. Employees are circulating and wiping down machines and having pride in a job well done. The only criticism I have is lack of class space, lack of variety of classes in the evenings, still want more yoga and Pilates classes in the evenings. Kudos to the new director for a big change for the better!

This place is a disaster zone and the prices are not only the worst in homestead but I was a member of a Y in Massachusetts years ago and this place charges double. Why pay to work out in a flop house when people have clean nice places available locally that charge a ¼ of the cost

I went here on a free guest pass and thank goodness it was free. The place is falling apart. This is such a shame since I know millions of dollars of united way contributions go to directly to the YMCA, amoungst other non-profit grants awarded to this place. Mismanaged funds??? The airconditioning was broken throughout the ENTIRE building. There was 1 floor fan in the weight room which didnt help. I have to mention the weight room is rediculously small. The mens locker room has no a/c, its not that is broken– there is no a/c. It has several floor fans screwed to the wall and most of them were off or unplugged. The sauna has a sign that reads out of order and the steam room has a sign that says«I’m retired». There is no water fountain in the men’s locker room nor outside in the pool area. This means if you want to hydrate from the miami sun, you have to walk through the hot locker room and into the slippery hallway of the building. I was so disturbed by the management of the building that I didnt bother to ask for prices.

Child Watch: The ladies in the child watch area are fantastic! You have Ms. Annie, who has been there for 20 some years. She is the tough love presence. Ms. Jasmina does amazing crafts with the kids every evening. I have no idea how she comes up with them, but she is so creative. Usually the crafts tie into the season or what’s going on in the world. For example, she recently had them make the Olympic rings with glue and small paper scraps, and then a bell and ribbon shaker to cheer on team USA! The younger girls working in there really show the kids love and also have no problem putting kids in time out. I feel good about leaving them in there so I can get my 2 hour workout in! Classes: The classes are great. They have spin, yoga, circuit classes and a variety of cardio and step classes. They also have a boot camp program that seems pretty legit. Cardio room: Typical stuff, ie. treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes. They just put up new flat screen tvs in here! Locker Rooms: Not the best. The toilets are usually in some form of malfunction. The sauna is being shut down. Being a military family, I knew NOONE when we moved here a few years ago. Joining this Y allowed me to make some great friends. I really get a sense of community here.
