Another drop in the bucket I have the best wife. I have the best life. My surprised me with the opportunity to fly a plane. Being able to pilot a plane is one of those things that I have always wanted to do but never would have done for myself for whatever reason. We made the trek down to Homestead General Aviation Airport and signed up in about 10 minutes. We got into a Skyhawk and after taxiing(yes, it’s spelled that way) using only our feet, we lined up for take off. Speeding down the runway I started to get a bit nervous ’cause the plane is angled a bit up, you can’t really see ahead of you. You get the aircraft to a certain speed and pull back and before you know it you’ve lifted off and you are above the beautiful Everglades. We banked to the left and headed down to the keys over the Gulf of Florida. We neared Key Largo before heading back making sure to avoid HAB and being escorted by some F-22s. Our flight instructor was young which at first was a bit concerning but while we were at 1800 feet(should have gone over this while on the ground) that he has been flying for well over half his life and comes from a family of aviators. Nice guy treated us to some zero gravity flying. That’s right. We got to feel the effects of zero gravity for a short amount of time and trust me, it’s awesome! I can not wait to do this again. Hell, while i was in the air I couldn’t help but wonder how I could this ALL the time. Pro tip — Do this
