I visited about two days ago and must say the staff was very friendly, courteous and gave service with a smile! I ordered a T-Bone steak(one of my faves) with a twice

My husband had a Groupon for this place so we went last night, which was the day before the Groupon’s expiration. So, a LOT of Groupon groupies were there! They told us we’d have a half-hour wait, and we went to the bar… we were seated within that timeframe. We had a very nice server, Adam, who accommodated us as fast as possible, given that the place was packed. I ordered the filet mignon, RARE(I like my steak actually grazing on the veggies) and it was cooked exactly right. Melt-in-your –mouth tender. My husband was happy with his pepper steak, too. I should mention that, in addition to the double-baked potato, steamed vegetables and the fresh salad, Bogart’s provides warm crusty bread and a GREAT relish tray: olives, carrots, celery, and then dishes of beets, bean salad and potato salad. The only reason this is a 4, and not a 5, star review is because the tables are very close together. Good for them that business is booming, but we were cheek-by-jowl with other patrons. And yes, it has more of a sports bar vibe than a ’40’s lounge/supper club, but they at least try to keep the dining room very clean lines/white table cloths retro. Prices are high, but you get a lot, and if you have a groupon deal or a gift card, it’s worth it. FYI to the previous reviewer who claimed this place is racist: there was a good multi-racial mix at Bogart’s; evidently other black people don’t find a «racist» atmosphere. Everyone seemed pleased with the service and many patrons were obviously regulars. But hey, if you think it’s racist: STAYHOME.

I just dined at Bogart’s a few minutes ago with a good friend. My first time there and it was very enjoyable. The service for lunch was excellent with no waiting and the seating at a both was nice! The cocktails were nice and strong(thank you) and the food was delicious and abundant. I had the blackened salmon, but I am sure all of the entrees are delicious as I observed so many folks coming in for take out orders! The relish tray was nice, Marie the server was excellent. I have no complaints at all and will drive all the way back to Homewood to dine at Bogart’s again. The bill was quite low which was interesting since I had a good amount of food. I highly recommend Bogart’s Charhouse!!!

Great service and waitstaff. The bread and relish tray are a nice touch. The steak leaves a lot to be desired. I don’t know if I ordered the wrong cut or what but it was kind of icky. My dad was a big fan of the pepper steak. I agree with the reviews below that the bar traffic gets in the way of the restaurant atmosphere.

I really like Bogart’s! It’s my mom’s preferred place to go each year on Mother’s Day. I used to take her downtown to Gibson’s, Harry Carey’s, etc., but we found this place and she doesn’t want to go downtown anymore. The relish tray, salads assortment and breads before the meal are good. I love the kidney bean salad(it tastes a lot better than it sounds). Then your meal comes with the soup or salad and entrée and yes, you will probably need to take a doggie bag home because it is filling. I usually order the ribeye steak which I’ve found to be flavorful and cooked as I requested. The service has always been good — and yes, the bar area is always full. It’s a place where locals come to watch the game and I can see this is a place where«everyone knows their name». No — Bogart’s is not a downtown restaurant, but here I’m not paying downtown prices, I get more for the price, the food is good, the service is good and I don’t pay parking or for valet, so all in all, it is a good deal and I leave happy.

I was here exactly 11 years ago. Nothing has changed. That is not always a bad thing. But when we walked out. It felt like we just got sprung from Sing Sing because it was so dark in there. Saturday lunch specials and the place had about 10 people in it. Including the staff. I had an iced tea because soda was $ 2 bucks a glass and 50 cents a refill. The turkey club looked safe, but it was a little dry. And the bacon tasted over cooked. Something was funny about the tooth picks being already broken in my sandwich? A waiter once told me to always break them up after you pull them out so they can’t reuse them. Yuk! I am getting tired of these places that just exist for the sake of making money.
