My husband and I heard about La Voute Bistro from a friend and are so glad we dined there! We celebrated our anniversary(April) with dinner at La Voute Bistro. This was our first time there. What a find in Homewood IL! The décor is beautiful; presentation of each dish is superb and waitstaff service is excellent. The chef even came out to talk to us! We had the following: Appetizers: Oxtail and Foie Gras Terraine and Mussels en Papilotte. Excellent! Dinner: Braised Lamb Osso Bucco and Veal Blanquette: Tastebuds were dancing! Dessert: Golden Bar Cake, their Signature Cake which was complementary for our anniversary. Delish! And yes, we had leftovers to take home. The bar area looked very inviting though we didn’t pay too much attention to that area. This is a wonderful, classy place for a special occasion or to meet someone for a drink.

Great Sunday Brunch. Partner had the crab cake with hollandaise & I had the frittata with asparagus, goat cheese, & peppers. Really excellent.

Great addition to Homewood — the bar is great and the food is good as well. HOWEVER, the service is sub par at best. This was my second visit and both times we had to wait quite a while before a waiter /waitress came to the table, had multiple things wrong with our order, and one of our guest ordered a Tito’s on the rocks with blue cheese olives… the waitress brought him a Tito’s and tonic with blue cheese olives. Her apology was sincere but told us she ordered Tito’s and tonic«because that is how most people order it». I’ll probably go back only because my folks live close and dining options are few and far between in the area.

Hidden gem! The atmosphere is very modern, but has a very upscale feel. Great for a romantic dinner or dinner with family. The food was very tasteful and beautifully presented. I had the Beef tenderloin, which was absolutely delish«. We also had the crab cakes as a appetizer, which had a very unique taste, but was very light and flavorful. You will enjoy your visit here’

I have dined here twice for lunch and drinks. The location is great and I love the menu. My first visit on a Saturday afternoon in December was lovely. Our server, Christine, was delightful. Based on that visit, I really looked forward to my next one. Four stars on the strength of the positive experience on this visit. I visited again in January on a Sunday afternoon and this time it was NOT a great experience. From the moment I and my party(2 other women) walked in, the disdain Frank had for us was apparent. He looked us up and down and pursed his lips when we requested a booth. He showed us to our table and I hoped that he would not be our server. Unfortunately, he was. He was visibly irritated to be serving us. I couldn’t see him interact with other diners to see whether Frank is just a terrible waiter or if he specifically had issue with my party only. He pre-judged us based on what I can only assume was appearance and race. The wine and food we ordered was perfectly fine but Frank made the visit terrible. I love the atmosphere and the menu so I will be back but Frank will never serve my table ever again! 0 stars for Frank. :((

Loved. Great addition to the downtown area with great food, cocktails, and local area beers. Try their brunch on the weekends. Smoked salmon, farmers salad with a poached egg, all were great. Love the make your own Bloody Mary bar for $ 7. What a steal. 5 kinds of mixes, unlisted toppings, shrimp, candied bacon, etc. Service is exceptional too. Will def come back.

This place is absolutely stunning upon entry. An old bank setting, vault and all, greeted by warm and inviting people. I stopped in just for a cocktail on a Saturday afternoon. The Bloody Mary is simply the best I’ve ever seen. The selection of meats and cheeses along with other condiments literally can make this your liquid lunch. Only had the tomato soup for lunch — it was absolutely outstanding. A cream-based soup that isn’t too heavy and garnished with fresh baked croutons and parsley. I’ve had so many people mention this place to me and finally decided to make the drive out here and I’m glad I did. Upscale, beautiful and will definitely be back for dinner.

Awesome place! it is very well decorated and honestly unexpected considering I didn’t think a place like this existed in Homewood. The service was prompt and thorough. The bread brought to the table was divine and the food/apps were awesome. Everything had such a great flavor! I have noticed some people state it is a bit pricey, but it is a higher end place and if nothing else a bit under priced compared to other places I’ve been with similar food offerings. Will be back.

I gave LaVoute of Homewood a «fourth try» when a friend decided to have her birthday dinner party there on a Monday at 7 p.m. Again, upon entering, the ambiance was beautiful and a welcoming atmosphere. The waitress was prompt at greeting our table 16. Drink orders were taken, and the waitress was knowledgeable of the menu. I was a little torn and wanted to try a different craft beer or cocktail. The waitress was patient, offering suggestions for drinks I might like to try based upon what I stated I typically drink. She even offered a sample of an item, which indeed, I ordered. It was a winner! Now, knowing I did not enjoy my previous dining experience, my «birthday friend» suggested I try the burgers. She insisted they are delish. So, of course, I was willing to try. And, I am so glad I did! The burger was moist and seasoned well. It was perfectly cooked to my preference. I am glad I gave LaVoute another chance. This time, I enjoyed the ambiance. I enjoyed the service. I enjoyed the drinks. And, I enjoyed my burger at LaVoute!

Had the best lunch date with the hubs here. Only lost a star for not having the rose or the beer we ordered when we sat down and disappointed to hear the news… What are the odds. We will def. be back. The French onion soup really is to die for!

Gotta go!’ The bar and restaurant give a downtown feel and after touring the adjacent Hotel La Banque, I have to return soon. The restaurant La Voute(pronounced la voot) has great atmosphere with well appointed seating, tables and well thought out spacing. Getting to the lunch menu… there were two to three soups to chose from including parsnip soup which was delicious There was a steak, chicken and pulled pork sandwich And the french favorite… Croque Monsieur sandwich. Sandwiches come with skinny fries in a cone and a shot glass full of ketchup. The waitstaff let me sub grilled veggies for the fries which worked out just fine. Our server is the daughter of Homewood Flossmoor Bön Vivant, Jim Groves and gave us a laugh or two. The tab wasn’t outrageous and all in all we had a fine dining experience

Out of the Tree of Life(Food, Drinks and Fun) We Found a Plum! What a wonderful dinner the 8 of us had at La Voute Bistro and Bar in Homewood. This was the first time our group had dinner at this newly opened restaurant in Homewood, and we were impressed! Our server Brian was very informative in reciting the«specials» for the evenings dinner. Most of us started off with the special salad which consisted of Brie, blueberries, grapes, walnuts and a spring mix of greens topped with a Blueberry vinaigrette– it was a splendid mix of flavors! One of the men opted to have the Classic French Dressing on his salad… out of this world!!! Each of us ordered different entrees with the exception of Mike and myself, we had the Braised Lamb Shank served over mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables – Amazing flavor! Dorene had the Diver Scallops over rosemary polenta in an orange sauce – beyond delicious! Lisa had the Roasted Chicken with a honey glaze over mashed potatoes – moist, tender and full of flavor. Mari Lynn had the Steak Au Poivre– New York Strip in a cognac cream sauce – top notch. Jimmy had the Grilled Berkshire Pork Rack sans the wild mushroom sauce. Chuck had the Idaho Lake Trout – very good and John had the Duck Confit with sautéed duck breast – perfection! Dessert was beyond wonderful… the Signature Gold Bar Cake-words cannot describe this gem of a dessert! La Voute is a newly found gem in the South Suburbs! The ambiance of this restaurant is like nothing else down here… the bar is large and inviting, the color scheme is modern yet romantic! To think that this was a bank in its earlier life and it has been transformed into a chic Boutique Hotel(La Banque) and French Restaurant! Can’t wait to dine here again!

I’m really on the fence with this place. I was happy I didn’t get the bill I can tell you that. The room is comfortable and nice. I was a bit confused as to why we received one of the worst tables in the place for a Wednesday night reservation. That started things off wrong in my eyes. We had a party of 4. After appetizers and soups all 4 of us ordered steak. And all 4 steaks were cooked incorrectly! I can barely work my stove and I can manage the proper temperature on a steak. Extremely disappointing for the prices. The flavors were excellent. They just need to get a handle on accuracy. Desserts were all just average. Nothing I would waste the calories on again. Even the signature dessert. The wine and cocktails are all excellent! The bar was hopping. Well with old men. The menu is pretty limited though. I think it may be in their best interest to offer a lounge menu. The service was good. It’s a block from my office so I’m sure I’ll be back. I wasn’t exactly dragging the BF up here after trying it though.

Nice neighborhood spot, food was Very good, rack of lamb was cooked to near perfection and the scallops with pureed pumkin off the chain … If there was a downside it would Be the noise level, make sure ur not on the bar side of the restaurant The Soup flight… Chicken, Bean… And the best one Escargot… Nice flavor, although the light flaky pastry crust stole some of the show Rack of Lamb Cooked to near perfection… the ratatouille was a mispairing Apple tart enough said Signature Gold bar… Didn’t make it home

Well… we had good conversation. The atmosphere was a pleasant step up from other restaurants in the neighborhood. But the food was NOT good! It looked pretty, but… worst meal I have ever been served. The vegetable tagine had no seasoning. The cassoulet tasted like nothing but salt. It was so bad I sent it back and called it a night. The poor waitress was so beautifully polite and concerned. I felt bad for her as it was totally out of her control. She had to get a good tip. All the wait staff and host staff were exceptionally polite. But the sous chef, let me just say health code violations. Not a great thing when you have an open kitchen. At least the manager was kind and addressed the health code issue quickly. However, they did not remove the contaminated items from the line. We definitely left hungry. I’m hoping it was an off night. Had it only been the improper seasoning I would give it another shot, but given the health code issues I’m not so inclined.

Mother and I dined here a few weeks ago and it was the best meal I have had in years! She had crab cakes and trout. I had escargot and steak au poive. The food was very hot and well prepared. The bread is excellent — soft and warm with a hearty crust. With two glasses of wine dinner came to $ 91 plus tip. I stayed at La Banque for two nights and ate at La Voute every day. Chicken Napoleon was delicious — a chicken potpie in puff pastry. The Bloody Mary Bar was fun. There must have been 30 plus items available including pâté and salami. At $ 7 it included Absolute or Tito’s and the bartender made it with Citroen per my request. I ordered the charcuterie for lunch just to get more pâté! It was huge and went well with the bread. Breakfast the next day was escargot. It is piping hot and covered with a pâté au choux. The wine list is small but offers some nice choices. The staff is knowledgeable about the wine and food. The service can be slow but I don’t mind because it is a lovely dining experience. The ambiance is casual but elegant. I’m coming here for any special occasion in my life and maybe just because.

Suburban. I had great expectations going into the reservation. A higher end restaurant in Homewood would be special. I love American French food. The Sazarac was pedestrian. No orange peel… All the right ingredients but execution was OK. The mussels OK, the crab cake OK, lamb shank OK, scallops OK. Dessert OK. The Wine was good. I Like the décor but I’ll go to Harvest Room in Palos next time. If you want a city meal go to the city or else you’ll have an OK meal at a suburban restaurant.

Awesome boutique hotel in downtown Homewood is a great addition to the area. The hotel has a Bistro and bar which has great food. The ambience is that of a downtown Chicago 5 star hotel wry classy. The hostess, waiter, chef and manger were very welcoming and friendly. I was not dressed up I had on a T shirt, Sneakers and work out pants and I was treated like I was in suit and tie. I highly recommend this hotel and Bistro. I had the French onion soup and a chicken sandwich with a side salad which was very good. The front staff allowed me to take a tour of the hotel. See pictures.

When you walk you feel as if your somewhere on vacation which I loved. The décor is beautiful, Black and Tan with accents of a chartreuse green color. The bar is a beautiful focal point. You can also see the entrance of the vault of the bank to the left when you first walk in. My co workers took me here for lunch today so we could check out the new place. We all ordered the grilled chicken sandwich on focaccia bread, with sun dried tomato pest, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella with a slice of grilled zucchini. When our waitress brought out our plates you could smell all the lovely flavors on the sandwich. It was warm, just off the grill. The chicken was grilled perfectly, wasn’t dry but juicy and seasoned well. When I bit into my sandwich I could taste all the layers of flavors, it was divine. I also ordered a small salad and asked for blue cheese salad dressing but the waitress brung me my salad with blue cheese crumbles minus any salad dressing at all. So they lack a variety of salad dressings, just vinaigrette. But it is French cuisine. If you ask they will also give you a tour of the hotel as well, we were unable to get one because they were filming upstairs. Food prices are a bit on the high side but it was a nice experience. The setting would be nice for a small wedding, or reception dinner. Aside for some minor details that can be fixed I think this is a nice place to go. Plus it’s fun to tell someone, «oh I’m going to the bank for a drink»
