The bathroom floor was not clean and there was no changing station in the bathroom. We came to Homewood for the Rail Fest happening around the corner and decided to eat lunch there before heading home. Lots of other families with little kids were also eating there so we stayed assuming this was a family style restaurant. Had our meal, which was okay for the price but when I had to take my son to the bathroom to change him, there was no table in sight. I would have given you 4 stars, because the cup cakes were very good and the service was nice, but no changing table is a big no-no for me.

Tried it for the first time recently as take-out. The pulled pork was fabulous. The brisket was a little dry, however I’m hoping that was only because it was take out. The homemade BBQ sauce was awesome. We would definitely like to try it again.

Came here for lunch break at work. Got the dirty dog(hot dog with BBQ pulled pork on top) came with a side got the mac and cheese and a coke. I wanted to keep it light so I wouldn’t get a BBQ hangover and keep it light on the wallet. Came out to just over $ 5. Pulled pork was damn good. BBQ sauce was perfect sweet and the pulled pork was so tender and flavorful. Standard dog and Mac and cheese was good, nice portion. Then reasons I took a star off: The coke actually wasn’t coke I don’t think. Tasted like generic cola like RC. You can use the bathroom but you have to walk around back and get let in. In conclusion, great food, great price, great idea if your looking for bbq.

I don’t know about the home wood location but I recently ate at the one on Chicago road and it wasn’t good. I had the brisket meal with fries and Mac and cheese. The brisket was very dry and chewy, the Mac was mushy, had good flavor but was very mushy. The fries were good. I paid like 13 $ for the meal and a drink which seemed a little high but not crazy but then I asked for extra bbq sauce and they wanted more money. I thought that that was unreasonable and inconvenient since I paid with a card. I wasn’t going to put it on my card so I opted out but for the price of the meal it is not unreasonable to give out extra sauce especially since I was dining in. In most bbq places they have the sauce sitting out at the tables so you can help yourself. The place was small and very cold inside. Overall I don’t recommend this place, I had eaten there along time ago and it was good so I went back, something has gone wrong! I can guess that the real cook has left the building and is focusing his efforts elsewhere.

Went here with my son for dinner. I had the banana leaf wrapped baked tilapia along with a side of their season vegetables. Both were well-cooked and tasty AND healthy – no evidence of butter or any other fattening ingredients – just well prepared. My son had the beef brisket that he enjoyed – he said it was good. $ 2.75 for domestics $ 3.75 for imported – pretty cheap. I had a glass of wine(Pinot Noir) that I think cost $ 4.00 – again pretty cheap. Service was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely go here again. Within walking distance from the Metra station. Downtown Homewood is very quaint.

I was very disappointed in the catering order I placed recently The Brisket was so dry and overcooked it looked more like beef jerky. It was supposed to have a gravy it did not. The apple wood chicken was awful nobody liked it. I ordered a pan of mac and cheese. It was half full for $ 24.00 it should be full. What a waste of $ 150.00…

Twisted q is awesome! We had brisket vegetable soup and it was really nice and hearty. I had the baby back ribs and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! Bf got the meatloaf sandwich with fries which was delicious as well. They have a great variety of cupcakes and they were super yummy, especially the oreo, red velvet, and peppermint cupcakes! We were both very stuffed and satisfied. Our waitress Pam was super nice and friendly and made sure my glass was never empty. The place had a nice feel to it and is a great hangout spot. Overall a great experience and would def go back again! Highly recommended!

This somewhat small local eatery conveniently located in downtown Homewood near Metra/Amtrak is awesome. They offer appetizers, sandwiches, wraps, full meals and desserts. They serve alcohol, have 3 televisions for sports along with video poker if that’s your thing. The appetizer of Dirty Fries is the bomb and enough for two to make a meal out of them. I’ve had the burgers, Polish, BBQ pork, and brisket just to name a few and I have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly and attentive to their customers needs. You can eat for under $ 10 with a burger or sandwich or under $ 15 for a full meal. I’ve never had dessert, only because I was so full from my meal, but all of the desserts look amazingly delicious.

How did we not know about this place? I tried the banana leaf wrapped tilapia, and it was very good my husband had the pulled pork sandwich and he enjoyed it. However, I did not know that the tilapia would take 40 minutes to cook! ***************************************** 5÷6÷2016 WOWWOWWOW… AWFUL! This review is ** What a complete disappointment from our first experience. We each started out with a cup of chili. I had the white chili which was OK. My husband had the burnt ends chili, and he said it was good. Next, we had a pulled pork sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. BLEH. It tasted like Kraft Microwave crap. I expected it to have bread crumbs, or burnt ends… something out of the box. Well, it was out of a box, alright. KRAFT! The sandwich was sooooo basic. overpriced for what we got. Then we tried one of their cupcakes. I had the chocolate covered cherry. My husband had vanilla. They were bland, and all frosting. $ 33, and 2 hours later. I’m hungry again… And broke. I hope they read these comments.

The food is solid! The apple pie was delicious and not overly sweet. The pie could have been packed a bit more but other than that no complaints. The thing that was amazingly awesome though was the bread that came with my barbeque platter — if it’s the bun for sausage sandwiches and such I’m definitely going back to try one!

I have eaten at Twisted Q at least 30 times over the last two years and had Doug cater business lunches at my company at least 6 times over the last 18 months. The food is always great! This week we had customers come in three different days and had a slightly different menu each day. Pulled Pork, Brisket, Ribs, Apple-wood Smoked Chicken, Boneles Chicken, Corn Pudding, Mixed Veg with Garlic, Calico Beans, Potatoes and Cole Claw, Various Cookies and Brownies for dessert. People asked where the food came from and went back for seconds and took home the brownies and cookies in napkins. I never have to worry about anything when I ask Doug to take care of my events. Great Food and Great Service!

This place has a decent selection of chili and good corn pudding. The service was excellent! Unfortunately, the BBQ feel very short. They use a strange sweet rub on the brisket and slice it as well. But if it is a cold winter day and you want a good good warm cup of chili, this is the place!

This was my first time eating here and heard good things so I decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is very cozy and gives off an old school diner vibe. They have a descent craft beer selection which is nice. I ordered the BBQ beef brisket with fries. The fries had nice texture and were homemade not frozen however they were bland and needed some seasoning to add more flavor. The sandwich was good and all in all I was satisfied with the meal and portion size. If I am in the area again and want some BBQ I will come back.

Not bad for a BBQ place but certainly not the first place I would go either. If you know someone that can’t have a lot of salt but wants BBQ this is the place.

Delicious food, made fresh and consistent. Love the«Hot & Dirty Fries.» Veggie burger is fantastic. BBQ is well balanced and unique. Salmon Burger is also a good pick. Cupcakes, try the Key Lime, Strawberry, and/or Peanut Butter– ohh man!

Rude Lack of customer service. I am a new business in the area and thought I would patronize them and they were very rude and judgemental, not sure if it was dt the color of my skin. Then to ask if I worked in the area, like u were praying that I would not come back! No worries, I will not be back and neither will anyone I know. The 30ish blonde lady that was so darn rude, had no idea who she was talking too. Then to charge xtra for BBQ sauce at a darn BBQ joint is absolutely ridiculous. Where is the justice in that picture. Never again will I be there for anything.

This is a small and cozy restaurant with a great bakery. I was disappointed in the bbq and the ambiance in the restaurant. At dinner time, I think there should be some policies which would prohibit groups of rowdy kids making fools of themselves and disturbing people trying to eat dinner. I am sure there are nights where there aren’t distubances like we encountered but the bbq wasn’t good enough for me to risk it again. But those cupcakes? Now those I would venture in and buy!

We moseyed over because we love BBQ and some friends recommended it. Not hard to find, with parking right in front. So far so good. The restaurant is small with a bakery counter, a pick up counter and some tables for eating in. There were many choices as only one other couple was eating in. We chose a table on the other side of the cozy restaurant from them. We ordered and didn’t have to wait very long for our food. Right after its delivery, a loud and noisy group of young teens spilled into the place, treating it as their hangout. One person in the group ordered something and they sat immediately behind us and yelled, pushed each other, grabbed each others’ phones and generally let you know why their parents didn’t want them in their own homes at dinner time. We complained to our server and the owner came out and just stood there. These young people were not intimidated. We moved to the other side of the restaurant. The beans were excellent, great texture, variety and flavor. The Mac N Cheese was average, nothing spectacular. My brisket was very salty, I didn’t finish it. The chicken was quite tasty, great flavor. We brought cupcakes home and the Cherry Chocolate was really delicious but I wouldn’t go back. I can get better BBQ in Frankfort or LaGrange and not have undisciplined kids marking it as their territory. I believe management should have policies which would prevent such low buying customers from spoiling the atmosphere for the rest of the clientele. Too bad the twisted part was the out of control teens.
